    You are correct Gabrielle about the experience of adding salt to Arches Watercolour paper, the results are sublime. Totally worth the little extra for quality watercolour paper. It makes great christmas cards with a wintery scene.

    I really enjoyed your process with this piece. From all the washes of color and the salt and mark making and doodling. I agree that the green wasn’t the best choice but I like that lovely crystal silver color. I appreciate your telling us that you forgot to turn yr camera on and so missed filming some application but it really did not detract from the overall video. You are such a sweet person, and I love watching you create art. I look forward to each and every video! Thank you!

    Hi Gabrielle 💕🤗 Thank you for another Wednesday video, I look so forward to them every week! I'm glad you gave yourself some grace, I'm pretty sure we all make mistakes daily! 🙋‍♀️😉😂 I love the copper you added, and that crystal white was the perfect solution! It's so interesting to see how different salts act and at various times in the painting process isn't it? I'm going to experiment adding salt at different stages and see what I get. I bought the extra fine pens you use, using your link, and I love them! I needed a pen that would hold up to the texture of the paper, so thank you! I may check out the fine tip too.
    Oh I've been thinking about something relaxing for you to do (just a suggestion). If you still have the black watercolor paper you're weren't too fond of 😉 you should try using your gorgeous new metallic colors on it! Make sure they are plenty syrupy and just play! Paint some circles or lines and watch the colors dance on the page and run into each other. I paint leaves. You don't have to create a painting, it's just mesmerizing to watch them sizzle on the page! I think you may enjoy it more that way. I'm glad this painting provided you with the relaxation you needed, try and get some rest if you can this week. Lots of love my friend! 🤗🫶💖

      Hi Lori 💕🤗 Even just reading your comments, I smile and relax ☺️ I feel so blessed to be connecting with you! I appreciate your kindness and compassion and it really is received like a gift each and every time 💝 I feel your beautiful positive and caring energy and I remind myself of it every time I paint. I can just imagine the two of us ooohing and aaaahing together.
      I love your suggestion of just playing with the black paper and my metallic paints. I created a geologic abstract just for me, doing exactly this not too long ago and I had so much fun. You're right when you say that is it mesmerizing to watch the colors move and sizzle on the page. I LOVE it! It's like soul food for my creative eyes 🤩
      I'm getting ready for an important interview on Thursday of this coming week. I'm not feeling too stressed about it but I know I'll sleep better when I am done and know the outcome.
      Thank you so much for being here with me 💕 I hope my reply finds you well and enjoying a lovely weekend! Lots of love and great big hugs heading your way ❤️🤗

If you look under the title for my video you should see a "... more" - click on it and then click on the second "... more" and you'll see the whole description. I have made a little video coming out this afternoon to show people what I mean as this is not always an easy thing to find. Thank your for making the time to watch and connect! I hope this helps 🤗

    After removing the salt does the residue affect subsequent layers of paint?

    • @polgara28
      @polgara28 Год назад +1

      Sometimes subsequent layers can cover up the effect, or be lifted by the 2nd layer. Sometimes you can still see the effect to a lesser degree through the next layer. When I do a piece like this and want to see some of the salt effects, I chose areas where I'll leave it with only the one layer. Hope this makes sense!

    • @gabrielleannacormierart
      @gabrielleannacormierart  Год назад +1

      Hi ❤️ Thank you for your question! If I understand correctly, you're wondering if the salt residue left on the paper after removing the salt might have an effect on the new layers of paint I add after. I can't say that I have noticed any effects myself. This is why I will often add more salt on new layers if I want to continue adding more marks with the salt. Usually to preserve the marks the salt left on the first layer, I try to gently apply a light wash of color on the subsequent layers to not completely cover up these initial marks. Hopefully I understood your question and answered your question in a way that is helpful. Thank you to @polgara28 for offering some advice on this subject as well ☺️

    Sorry I missed you yesterday but it was my 43rd wedding anniversary🎉But that aside please tell me you are ok . Please tell me that none of what is going on in Maine has touch any of your life.But I know better than that your heart is so big that it has touch all of your life. All I can do is hope and pray you are alright. Dear Jesus, please put your guardian angels around all that mean something to Gabriella🧡🍁♥️🧡🍁♥️😢🙏🏻I love you dear one.

      Hi Nancy!!! ❤️🤗 Happy happy anniversary!!!! 🎉💕🎉 43 years together!! That is so wonderful!! I'm glad you made it a point to celebrate your big milestone and I wish you many many more years together 💕
      This week was definitely a sad week for all of us here in Maine 😔 My heart is broken for all the victims and their families, including the poor man who lost his way and committed these acts, including his family. I'm sad and continue to be at a loss for the fact that this continues to happen all over our beautiful country. My husband and our loved ones are ok, but definitely not untouched by these terrible events.
      Thank you for thinking of us and sending angels our way 🙏💕 Your kindness, love and compassion are always such a gift and I feel blessed to be their recipient 💝 I love you too ❤️ Be well my friend 🤗
