Very helpful this is the first video I watched that diagnosed the dim screen issue I am having. I appreciate all of the valuable information delivered in less than 6 minutes. Excellent time management!
I have problem no. 6 2:19 .My tv works for 20 mins with led lights set to 100 and then turns off so I have to turn it on again. But if I set the back light to like 10 or 20 it works for 2 to 3 hours easily.
great video thanks a lot Dominic! i have lg 47LS5600 with backlight problem. if i set backlight light at menu at 75% works fine. change channel fine. if i set it to 100% i change channels and backlight goes off. i turn off tv and on again and works fine again. no bad caps at first sight. what would you say led problem? thanks again
The backlight array is built within very tight tolerances so any deviation will result badly. The only one solution is to change the whole set of backlights
@@DominicGichane i talked to the technician, he said the whole screen needs to be replaced which costs 1/3 more than the price i paid for this monitor.
2:19 I have this problem. Any idea what causes this issue? I have been troubleshooting this LG 55LM5800 TV but cant seem to find the cause? At first the backlight would stay on for an hour once we turned it off and back on again and then it started only running for 10 minutes or so, then the backlight started turning off immediately.
I have a Samsung that is two years old 85” and the image is suddenly flickering. Much worse when trying to play a video game (image blinking nonstop) but also happening when watching tv but less extreme. What would cause this? Samsung will not help.
I have an edge lit LG 55SJ850T smart TV. My problem is I have a screen that has 6 distinct lit areas with 2 half/half horizontal areas split into 3 verticle areas so I have a these 6 areas in a symetrical 3X2 unevenly lit areas. Trouble is that along the bottom three squares the outside two are bringt and the centre square is dimmer and along the top it is reversed so the outside two squares are dimmer than the centre square. This is very annoyingly noticeable watching TV where there is a constant colour like the sky in a video. How can this be when I know there are only two LED strips of whcih I have already got a pair of replacements. If one of the strips was faulty I would surely get just a left and right split in brightness ?? I do not want to undertake this difficutl LED strip replaceement if it is something else causing this 3x2 symetrical uneven lighting problem. Is it maybe a dislodged lens or light diffuser ?? Many thanks for any help you can give me and thank you for your great instructional videos. I am BTW a retired qualified senior electronics engineer (but not a trained TV technician) so feel able to carry out the work as sadly I cannot get any TV engineers here in Thailand to undertake this task for me.
By replacing the whole set of lights. You could also try a small dab of super glue to fix the lens. Too much super glue and it'll cloud causing uneven light distribution in that area.
