people in the chat saying the early videos like baby baby were in 2011 lol. the first few videos were in 2007-2008. Then Gee came in 2009 and was a cultural reset. 2011 was later and more modern like 'the boys' which was very high-budget.

They didnt open the gate for girl groups at all. At those moments there were still pretty succesfull and known girl groups with also a bunch of different concepts like 2ne1,miss a with bad girl good girl,or even wonder girls. They were def the first girl group to be really huge and get sales comparable to boy groups and a lot of awards. They were the standard but they didnt open the gate or paved the way for noone. That is a very different thing

actually girls generation is a song from a senior male singer, not SES. and yeah, it is like a tradition of sm new girlgroups to cover songs from their seniors.
they debuted when they were about 16-18 in 2007, the group with the strongest vocal line i guess. we have taeyeon, jessica, seohyun, tiffany, and sunny. also dance line who are vocally so good. usually sm girlgroups are vocal based group.
What I like about SNSD is they don't just stuck in one concept they're open for new genre always and when they do change genre still they manage to do it better.
They set the standard so high even there are a lot of gg nowadays, we still go back to the legend
Jessica adlibs are on point and she really fit and match SNSD concept and vocals always. Not to mention her ow so beautiful face and personality that always been misunderstood by many.

Dancing queen was recorded before the 'GEE'. However, because of the royalty problem, they need to film 'GEE' and that's why they wear same or similar clothes with GEE. Btw 'Dancing queen' was revealed in 2013.

it’s regarded as a protest song towards a “better world” and has been used in multiple human rights protest around the world not just Korea. It was used in womens’ march in new york, lgbtq+ rights protest in multiple countries like korea, thailand, philippines etc, it’s been used for MeToo movement and antigovernment protest.
not only is its social impact huge but it’s pretty much a must for Kpop trainees/rookies to perform due to its demanding vocals and dancing.

Chocolate Love was for a commercial. The 5 girls wearing all black at the very beginning of the music video were SM's other girl group f(x). They released their own version of Chocolate Love with a slightly different remix. Member Amber's rap really elevates the song to a whole new level.

Appreciate the reaction. It rekindled my Sone (SNSD/Girls Generation fan) heart. It feels nostalgic as an international fan. RUclips was basically a start up business that time so Kpop MV's were not available in accessible platforms. I had to scour the internet and watch official mv's in fansites. Social media was not even prevalent that time, but they still managed to gather international fans mostly by word from existing fans.

They are the Japanese tracks, which he said he was avoiding because of their aggressive copywrong striking. If the group name is spelled 少女時代 in the title, that's Japanese. 소녀시대 is Korean abbreviated version "So Nyo Shi Dae" (SNSD).

Also, Dancing Queen was released in early 2013, just before IGAB, but was filmed in 2008. They couldn’t release it then because there were still licensing issues with Duffy’s company.
Also also, if they’re putting the videos in order of filming, then Dancing Queen should’ve come before Chocolate Love, because Choc Love came out in 2009.
I really like a bunch of Girl's Generation songs with such dynamic, emotional resonant vocals and fabulous performances especially Dear Mom, Oh!, Gee, Genie, Show!, Show!, Show!, Boys & Girls, Day by Day, Hoot, Lion Heart, My oh My, Baby Maybe, XYZ, Talk Talk, Beep Beep, Love and Girls, Flyers, Galaxy Supernova, Mr. Taxi, Holler and a number of others. In terms of other second generation groups, I recommend doing one on T-ARA and APink which are also amazing groups.
