  • Here is my written review of the W80:

    It would be great to see this channel start to get some serious support so subscribing and liking it will go a long way. If you can do that I will make sure I make more frequent content!

    My friend measured them and found the L&R channel matching is super tight. Perhaps the tightest on the market. And the FQ response was actually like what the box shows.

      Hi-Fi Insider I'd love to see these measurements and i wouldn't expect anything less than perfect channel matching at this price. As for the curve on the box nothing actually measures like that, it's smoothed heavily! I also measure my iems and can say a lot of universals have as good channel matching.

    How long did you use them for and what did you use them with? I found the W80 to be super sensitive and transparent. You must use very high fidelity DAC for them to shine. They don't need a high power amp, but does like a very good quality one with near zero output Z. I have these in review right now. Been about a month and they are starting to open up. I'm using Benchmark DAC/amp and Sony Signature Series ES DAC/amp. Both are excellent with W80.

      I have had them over a month now and used them with a wide range of sources, fyi I use nothing with a high output Z and know how to review an IEM, check my site I have reviewed a few.... They also don't "open up". Not that any desktop product will save these but I would recommend you review portable products with portable gear ;) i wonder what models you are referencing (they funnily enough will be better then the Beats X which seems like your last earphone review) these against as your UERR review was very brief regarding sound.... at least your enjoying them, even if they are nowhere near as good technically as they need be at this price....

    I tried them with my phone at the local store and they do suck. They sound like 300 dollar earphones. Maybe it needs more burn in time?

    Why did you hang them on a tree in first couple of seconds?

    I'm sorry man but I just can't watch this. The Echo is too stronk. You should invest like 80$ in a cheap lavalier or something D:

      With my voice? I know the audio could be better and I plan on getting a mic but it doesn't sound near unbearable to me?

      nah it's just that it is hard to focus on because of the way you talk kinda. Like you emphasis the middle parts of words and the echo makes them sound even louder. It's kinda weird. Yeah I'd look into a low tier lav mic like the rode ones.

      @@swimsonny dude you're reviewing 800$ earphones and cant afford a 80$ mic for a review? People are trying to give you constructive feedback, take it and be grateful for that. hopefully you have a better system now. cheers.

    $1400 IEM suck? You must have a crappy DAC? What are you using man?!

    • @swimsonny
      @swimsonny  7 лет назад

      Yes they suck. Nice effort jumping to conclusions regarding my DAC but no that is not the case. In fact if you are going to try and call me out at least get your facts straight. Earphones don't plug directly into DACs. They need an amplifier stage. Most people now days use a DAP or digital audio player. These are a standalone device that generally have a well engineered DAC and suitable amp stage. Of these I have the AK240SS, AK380, Cayin i5, Lotoo Paw Gold and many, many more on hand. Funnily enough these earphones still sucked with these sources. Before making comments like this maybe do some research and check out my website.

    Worthless review! No mention of source equipment, music file type, test music, Frequency Response Graphs, nor any other pertinent empirical information necessary to make an informed decision as a viewer. Unfortunately, there exists too many of these hobbiest reviewers with quasi-knowledge in the pseudo-science that is audiophilia, who are quick to offer their subjective opinions on a product with which they have minimal exposure. Such a shame...

      Xeriminox i firstly recommend a quick trip to my site for some background on me. Secondly are you serious, I should mention file types? I don't use anything less than lossless, and using hi-res or dsd doesn't effect the out come of a review. oh and sorry I didn't talk graphs when there doesn't exist an accurate one for this earphone. when this is complimentary to my written review the point is to not bore people with the sampling rates I listen at!
