There are 4 kind javanese languange
    1.Ngoko javanese
    2. Krama madya javanese
    3. Krama inggil javanese
    4. Kawi javanese
Ngoko javanese is mostly use to communicate with friend (close friend), Krama madya javanese is use to communicate with somebody that we don't know yet, Krama inggil javanese is use to communicate with old people, parents, grandparents, elder figures. The last Kawi isn't use for daily spoken languange. But it is use for wayang show (javanese puppet show). The Dalang (person who plays the wayang) speak kawi javanese. Kawi javanese is used for the wayang story that written in the book (espesially javanese subject at school), and it is still confusing me, even i'm a native speaker of javanese

After listening to many austronesian languages, I dare to say that javanese sounds so masculine.
Javanese kings in my opinion would sound really badass during pre colonialism time. But today, javanese language is known in sinetron as kampungan, norak, etc. They even use non javanese actor to mimmick javanese which make it worse.
One of the reason why didi kempot and other javanese singers success is bcs we javanese felt tired with bad stereotype about our language. We say f!ck that stereotype, we love our language. Javanese are not direct. So this is how they show their feeling.

🇬🇧 So here's my explanation as an Indonesian on how Indonesian and Javanese are very different.
🇮🇩 Jadi inilah penjelasan saya sebagai seorang warga Indonesia tentang bagaimana bahasa Indonesia dan Jawa adalah dua bahasa yang sangat berbeda.
    🇬🇧 To clear it up:
Javanese is a language isolate within Malayo-Polynesian branch of Austronesian languages and has no closest relatives (it's hypothesized to be more related to Philippine languages than Indonesian). It is the most spoken regional language of Indonesia that is also spoken in Suriname, Malaysia, New Caledonia, Netherlands, and other Javanese diaspora communities throughout the world.
Indonesian, as far as I know, is a Malayic language of Malayo-Sumbawan subbranch (I guess it's the term?) and is surprisingly related to Madurese, Balinese, Sundanese, and Pattani Malay in Thailand. It is derived and standardized from Malay varieties spoken in Riau-Johor (which is also the source of Standard Malaysian Malay).
Btw the reason why Indonesian and Malaysian are different in many ways is the languages that influence both of them. Indonesian have gone so many things including simplification, "modernization", and multiple standardization that made it easier for people throughout Indonesia to understand and use it.
    ------
    🇮🇩 Supaya jelas:

We Indonesians ussually use the Ngoko (low speech) escpessially in pulau jawa

  • @bcoveplmene9791
    @bcoveplmene9791 2 года назад +7

Actually Javanese consist of three language level
    1. Ngoko (casual/informal)
    2. Krama (Polite/ formal)
    3. Krama Inggil (Very Polite)
Ngoko language is used when speaking with someone younger or the same age with you.
Krama and Krama Inggil is used when you are talk to someone older or honoured/respected like parents, teacher, boss, stranger, or someone you don't close with.
Like the example in this video.
The story is in Ngoko language when it is in monologue.
But when the son talk to his father he use Krama language.

I cannot understqnd most of the things that the video said because i'm from surabaya and can only understand the rudest form of javanese, ngoko 😄 (in this vid it said krama, the politest form is krama inggil).
For example, krama inggil for "you" is panjenengan; krama for "you" is sampeyan (this is still kinda used here); and the ngoko, the one you'll hear most here is kowe or kon 🤣 i rarely use kon because that sounds rly rude for me, i only used it when i'm pissed.

4th generation of Javanese, Bugis and Boyan immigrants here, it is very rare to hear any of these dialects spoken in Singapore now.
We’ve assimilated with the local language and not many of the 2nd generation speak these dialects out of convenience.
There used to be enclaves and villages of Bugis, Javanese and Boyan, but with modernisation, they’ve spread about Singapore.

javanese language is so diverse in itself. Because unlike other languages, Javanese has different dialect even to the point of completely different vocabs depends on the region. Like for me, I'm native surabayan which is a city on the east coast of java. In here, we have our own set of words and sometimes people from other parts of Java find it's hard to understand what we're saying. The Javanese in the video is mostly central javanese language and dialect. They tend to be more soft and polite. Us, the eastern javanese were a bit more harsh and loud. But otherwise, no matter what javanese you speak whether it's a ngapak, jowo tengahan, jowo timuran, walikan ngalam, suroboyoan, banyumasan, etc... once people know that you're a javanese, no matter where you are, you are family for us.
