if you ever revisit this soap, i have two suggestions! 1. to make it stick better, you can scratch the top layer with a toothpick. 2. poppyseeds in the white layer would give it some serious visual interest, i think it would look really nice!
AU Love your creativity with melt n pour. It is wonderful to have someone showing videos of this as most do CP soaping videos. I'm learning heaps from you. Thank you so much. Love your work.
How Beautiful!! Four hours?! Wow! I made a Fall Leaf soap once, where I hand made leaves on 4 different colors. It took forever. It was lovely but I coukd never do it again, too much overhead. Thanks for sharing!
I've found your videos last week and have been binge watching them. I even got my three year old daughter hooked haha! I really like the way you experiment with the MP soap. Keep up the great work.
Hi ! I just watched this video 😅 , I can recommend you to put the mold in the freezer (with the first layer in , so the first layer can harden fast , and you will save a lot of time between layers ) . Its been 3 years since you posted this video, but maybe this tip could help to the new soap makers 😊 . Love your work and the way you teach!
Awesome soap. I'm going try and recreate one but with a different fragrance according to our choice here. Shall definitely post it on you tube. Dean you have wonderful way of making soaps and very easy to follow. Appreciate you come up with new designs. Truly inspirational. Thanks again
Oh I just received the Love spell FO. U gave me an idea, since I am making them for personal use, I might use my mini heart mold and put in a center of a square mold to avoid the misalignment... Hmmm, peach and dark pink for the color maybe 🤔😂
You make some great soap I like all your soaps I would like to try the one that look like 🔥 I never seen a soap like that one it's the most beautiful soap I ever seen its to beautiful to use.
Hi Dean! I accidentally bought melt and poor soaps when I was learning how to make cold press. Anyway, they sat there until a few days ago when I thought I'd come to RUclips and see how they were used, and found you! Thank you for all the videos, I've had a ball watching. What I like most is the way your willing to experiment. It works, yay! It doesn't, back to the drawing board. Anyway after watching this one I had to give my first RUclips comment (for anything) to you. Looking forward to your next one. Btw, I didn't see the flaws until you pointed them out, lol.
I love all of your videos because they are very detailed. The only thing that I don't see is when do you add the fragrance? Oh and how do you measure the size of the bars? Thank you and please keep posting.
With melt and pour videos I dont usually show adding the fragrance but I always do. Do you mean cut my bars? You can find my cutting bar video here. www.meltandpour.net/vid.php?vid=101
You have such a great talent in making soaps! I wish I was able to buy yours off Etsy or EBay :-(. At least I can still watch you make them online ; - ).
Beautiful! I have the exact same molds but mine fill up with 1,400 kgs no 1,096 kgs and I was wondering if yours fill up to the very top or is it just how it looks o the screen? About how much do yours weight? Mine gives 10 at 4.5 oz each but using 1,400 kilograms.
Thank you so much! Mines are 128grams no wonder the math doesn't work on mines. But oddly enough, mines never fill up unless I use a 1,5 kgrams. I´ll have to make then shorter. :)
+Dean Wilson (SentinelCandles) wouldn't you say that it's an extra precaution worth doing to be sure? or do you think the alcohol is enough? I ask because I am not nearly as experienced as you and I wondered if I'm wasting my time. that turned out lovely btw.
+Kelley Spartiatis This loaf that I made was a test, I had no idea if it was going to work. But the rubbing alcohol was enough to bond them together. Its not always the case to work but most of the time the RA is enough by itself. Its all trial and error. If scratching works for you by all means keep doing it. :)
Good day, Master Wilson! With reference to your ' Love Spell ' project above, you stated that there might be a possibility that those two halves might not stick together. I'd like to enquire, would this problem be solved if glycerin is applied, as a glue? You have inspired me to learn melt and pour! Thank you😁😁👏👏👍👍
(AU) Great experimental technique, looks amazing - great result. Any very small imperfections makes it more unique and hand made. The spare hearts can also be used as extra embeds for other projects as well. Nice hack with the box keeping the heart mould upright. Must use it some time. How do you prevent the liquid from leaking as the heart moulds seem to have two open ends? Thanks for another great video
I hope you see this. Could you tell me the measurements of the silicone mold you use and how many 100grs soaps you get out of it approximately? Loving your stuff, btw. Learning a lot and I hope I can put it all to good use. So much imagination needed.
There is a link to the mold that I use in this video, its in the description. silicone mould inner dimension 245x56x70mm L x W x H wood casing inner size 253x60x68mm L x W x H I found my mold 1kg holds 1090 grams.
Hi Dean I'm a new going to be anyway NEW soap maker. What was your first project? How did it turn out? What would you suggest for my first soap melt and pour? I've got a huge amount of supplies so I think I'm ready! Thanks
Whenever I melt the soap base (glycerin or goat milk) for 30 seconds, after I take it out from microwave, I keep stirring it continuously - but within few seconds it starts solidifying again (like into thick cream and then becomes hard) In your video, nothing happens even for a minute after you take out your melted soap base - any solution for mine? Help needed I love watching your videos! Thanks in advance! ☺️
I dont use a microwave. I use a aluminium pouring pot which holds the heat from the water its boiled in. My base gets to about 145F when I take it out of the crock pot. Sorry, not sure about microwave heat.
You mean the heart mold? I think 130 grams. I filled it right to the top when once I removed it (when set) I weight it and worked out how much I would need.
you'va calculated the beginning 90 grams, but i think that you could also measure the layer you pour after the heart is set in....say 300 grams, then start the second layer with 300 grams and finish with the 90grams... your heart might sink though, maybe it needs to be colder/ticker then...I dunno, just thinking out loud ;-) i love the look of this anyway
I have a question about listing ingredients when you use two different soap bases such as glycerin and goatsmilk. Can you list them separately??? because I would never be able to break it down as far as the combination.
So when I use 2 bases, if the same ingredients is in both it only needs to be listed once. The different from my goats milk to clear is about 3 ingredients. I list everything.
That has turned out really well. I love it. It has beautiful crisp, clean lines that are really effective.
Thanks so much for watching :)
if you ever revisit this soap, i have two suggestions!
1. to make it stick better, you can scratch the top layer with a toothpick.
2. poppyseeds in the white layer would give it some serious visual interest, i think it would look really nice!
Good idea. :)
Verrrrry beautiful & creative👌❤
Wow Dean, this technique is so exciting!
Ooohhh I’m itching to get soaping!
But I need my rubbing alcohol to arrive.
AU Love your creativity with melt n pour. It is wonderful to have someone showing videos of this as most do CP soaping videos. I'm learning heaps from you. Thank you so much. Love your work.

contest. amazing. I never would have thought to flip the first layer over.
Cool, another soapster creation from my favorite Dean!
Stellar job! Ingenious technique! Beautiful colors! Thank you for sharing!
I've found your videos last week and have been binge watching them. I even got my three year old daughter hooked haha! I really like the way you experiment with the MP soap. Keep up the great work.
Me too love his work
my kids are also obsessed with watching soap videos lol

Thanks. I tried to keep the soap at least a little warm so the layers would stick together, but thanks for the tip on the freezer.
Simply amazing! So beautiful! I was watching wondering how you were going to pull it off and the finished product is gorgeous! And I love your accent!
+Jennifer Halliwell Personally I don't like my voice, but everyone seems to like it. Thanks for your comments :)
You have used ingenuity in your methodology and your design is certainly a proffessional job.
Thank you. It was a pain to make but glad I did. :)
Awesome soap. I'm going try and recreate one but with a different fragrance according to our choice here. Shall definitely post it on you tube. Dean you have wonderful way of making soaps and very easy to follow. Appreciate you come up with new designs. Truly inspirational. Thanks again
Thanks Antara :)
(AU) I love seeing the different types of 'Love spell' that you come up with !!
Absolutely beautiful Deano! You, my friend, are amazing!
Dean just love the heart mould’s I want to try this so amazing and fun great job 👍
Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing, Dean!!
Oh I just received the Love spell FO. U gave me an idea, since I am making them for personal use, I might use my mini heart mold and put in a center of a square mold to avoid the misalignment... Hmmm, peach and dark pink for the color maybe 🤔😂
tahts really lovely dean,i'm going to make it myself, your the man
NICE!! I was wondering how you did that. I thought it was a shape punched out and placed...lol
At last - a METRIC soapmaker!!!!!!!!!!! Yaaaaaaaaaayyyy
Very creative with the rubber bands.
You make some great soap I like all your soaps I would like to try the one that look like 🔥 I never seen a soap like that one it's the most beautiful soap I ever seen its to beautiful to use.
I love this design. Excellent job 👍👍
(AU) To me, this turned out perfect. You are the King of M&P Dean.
Hi Dean! I accidentally bought melt and poor soaps when I was learning how to make cold press. Anyway, they sat there until a few days ago when I thought I'd come to RUclips and see how they were used, and found you! Thank you for all the videos, I've had a ball watching. +Janean Westhues Thanks Janean. I hope you keep up both CP and M&P soaps :)
Excellent job, I would be interested to hear if the 2 halves split once you start to use it?
Nope, they stayed together thankfully. I was pretty happy with the results.
Another great one. I love love spell
its so cute!! Impressive work Dean.
Great video Dean, I always love watching them.
If you have more molds do 3 or 4 batches at a time! Looks beautiful!
So Adorable! I wish I could do this. I do basic candles.😊
Another beautiful soap Dean. Thanks for sharing,
+Sharon Faulkner I forgot to put AU...
Looks amazing Dean. Well done!!!
Thank you very helpful am gonna try it with when heart in the middle until I get a little more advance. Beautiful soap 💞
You’re welcome 😊
any alternative to rubbing alcohol...which help burst the bubbles but does not contain alcohol...it would be of great help..thanks..!!!
Not that I know of. Rubbing alcohol is the standard.
AU Gorgeous work Dean. I love your enquiring mind.
I love your videos! The scientific information is so helpful! Thank you for the great information and the beautiful soaps! As always you are amazing🤗
It looks lovely! Have you tried a soap planer to tidy up and even out any overhangs?
+LeeLee Harris I like the overhangs :) But it would do with a trim :)
I love all of your videos because they are very detailed. The only thing that I don't see is when do you add the fragrance? Oh and how do you measure the size of the bars? Thank you and please keep posting.

Lovely. You are so creative
You are awesome Dean! I don't even make soaps yet but Im gonna try!
Awesome, please let me know how you go :)
Dean Wilson if I can find supplies in South Africa I surely will. U make it look so fun! I appreciate you!
Awesome! Btw, where do you sell your soaps? Thanks for the videos! Very nice and contemporary melt and pour design
+Avocadito I don't currently sell my soap, I just make them and give away to family and friends.
Hey Dean! I love watching your videos. I love your designs. I have a question, can I substitute isopropyl alcohol with ethanol for spraying?
Nope. Stick with Rubbing Alcohol. I would never use anything else.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for answering my question 😀
Love this. So pretty. You did a great job
You have such a great talent in making soaps! I wish I was able to buy yours off Etsy or EBay :-(. At least I can still watch you make them online ; - ).
Thanks, I wish I was able to sell them via Ebay but its not possible for me.
(Contest. AU) The end result was worth the effort Dean...it looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your ideas and thoughts with us all....
Beautiful! I have the exact same molds but mine fill up with 1,400 kgs no 1,096 kgs and I was wondering if yours fill up to the very top or is it just how it looks o the screen? About how much do yours weight? Mine gives 10 at 4.5 oz each but using 1,400 kilograms.
Hi, I get 9 bars at 105grams each. I cut the ends off and use them for myself. Fills right to the top.
Thank you so much! Mines are 128grams no wonder the math doesn't work on mines. But oddly enough, mines never fill up unless I use a 1,5 kgrams. I´ll have to make then shorter. :)
im into start a new line with making soap so i wish can will it all or one of these .... i like what u are doing and keep going
Hi, it's better to scratch the top of the layer before spraying the alcohol. It will help prevent the layers from coming apart.
+Kelley Spartiatis It didn't come apart but I understand what you mean. I have never had to scratch the layer in order for it to bond.
+Dean Wilson (SentinelCandles) wouldn't you say that it's an extra precaution worth doing to be sure? or do you think the alcohol is enough? I ask because I am not nearly as experienced as you and I wondered if I'm wasting my time. that turned out lovely btw.

Its not always the case to work but most of the time the RA is enough by itself. Its all trial and error. If scratching works for you by all means keep doing it. :)
love your videos. new soapmaker here. Is it possible to add a new layer to an already cold layer? or do all layers need to be done in one sitting?
Good day, Master Wilson! With reference to your ' Love Spell ' project above, you stated that there might be a possibility that those two halves might not stick together. I'd like to enquire, would this problem be solved if glycerin is applied, as a glue? You have inspired me to learn melt and pour! Thank you😁😁👏👏👍👍
Not really because this is glycerin soap already. It needs to be warm enough to melt into each other.
@@DeanWilson I see…thank you very much for teaching me, Teacher Wilson! Thank you😁😁😁
what containers do you use to melt the soaps? how do you heat it?
Check this video out.

Any ideas where we can find molds like the heart ones in the US? Love your soaps and how you explain things! Do you ever do CP or only melt and pour?
I placed a link to a USA supplier in the description above.
I currently only do M&P base soaps. :)
(AU). I always look forward to your videos Dean. I love all of your work!!! Thank you for uploading all your wonderful videos :)
(AU) Great experimental technique, looks amazing - great result. Any very small imperfections makes it more unique and hand made. +Kat Pd The heart mold is sealed one end, interlocking edges so no soap with pour out.
Love your videos. This was so cool. Thank you!
Beautiful !!!
They are amazing
I hope you see this. Could you tell me the measurements of the silicone mold you use and how many 100grs soaps you get out of it approximately? Loving your stuff, btw. Learning a lot and I hope I can put it all to good use. So much imagination needed.

silicone mould inner dimension 245x56x70mm L x W x H
wood casing inner size 253x60x68mm L x W x H
I found my mold 1kg holds 1090 grams.
@@DeanWilson I didn't realize. Tyvm for answering . Incredibly helpful videos.
Looks nice great job!
Worth the time it took! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you Sandra :)
when you set it before putting on another layer how long to you leave it for so that you know that it will join together?
until it's soft and warm to touch but not liquid anymore. It's like a jelly with a skin is fine.
(au) what a cool look. Pitty it takes so long. Are Mp soaps ready to use once set of do they have to sit for 6 weeks like Cp soaps
+creativechicmum Once they are set, normally 4-6 hours for a bar mold OR over night for a loaf mold - they are ready to use.
Did you use the entire melt and pour base 500g for each color?
Yes, I first made the hearts with each color then remelted once the load was turned over. So both heart and the other side base were the same color.
These look awesome!!
Glad you like them! thanks :)
... and it is a good thing to do things differently than everyone else :)
Thank You Dean that's the price I thought of too
I love this soap too!
Lovely as always 💜
did you buy the wooden mold?
or make it yourself?
I purchased it. There is a link to the ebay site in the video description (above).
Hi Dean
I'm a new going to be anyway NEW soap maker. What was your first project? How did it turn out? What would you suggest for my first soap melt and pour? I've got a huge amount of supplies so I think I'm ready! Thanks
I made a single cavity soap with a red heart as my first soap. You can see it here
www.meltandpour.net/pic.php?ID=1080
Whenever I melt the soap base (glycerin or goat milk) for 30 seconds, after I take it out from microwave, I keep stirring it continuously - but within few seconds it starts solidifying again (like into thick cream and then becomes hard)

how much soap did you use to fill a column? Do you have a tutorial instructions for newbies on that?
You mean the heart mold? I think 130 grams. I filled it right to the top when once I removed it (when set) I weight it and worked out how much I would need.
Dean Wilson thank you. How long did this take with having to wait for each layer for it to cool
Where se can buy soap making material ???
Soap supplies online are your best bet. Check google for "melt and pour soap base".
Looks fantastic x
Good job, Congratulations
That's pretty cool!
Spray is water?
Spray is rubbing alcohol.
Check this video - www.meltandpour.net/vid.php?vid=126

Your soaps are so amazing !!! Beautiful !!! How much would that bar cost me it's lovely
+A'nnamaria Davis If I sold you a bar? Currently I don't sell my soap but if I did, it would be about $5 OR $6 each.
Looks awesome! Your too hard on yourself!
Very, very nice!
hola esta bueno los jabones todo es cliserina quisiera saber q. medida tiene el molde en alto y ancho muchas gracias .lo sigo .
I don't speak Spanish, but I did use google translate, however I don't understand your question.
Dean Wilson they want to know the measurements of your molds :)
I love those heart molds, would like a couple of those, I live in Canada.
I currently don't ship outside Australia. I am so sorry :(
That's ok I will keep searching but thanks just the same.
(AU) I love this its simple and clean lines ... fantastic job dean :)
Hi Dean! Just wondering how much of each base you used... Is that two pounds each?
Each side was 550grams. ( 1.21 pounds ) OR ( 19.4 oz )
Total of 1092 grams ( 2.40 pounds ) OR ( 38.5oz )
Wooooow beautiful soap bar

Awesome Thanks for the info. BTW are we ever going to get to see what you look like???
Thanks, I would rather just make my videos about my soaps and not about me. Maybe some time in the future.
Yes please! Would love to know more about you and I'm sure I'm not the only one. : )
What would you like to know ?
Do you ever work in CP soap making? Seems this would be easier to do in CP soap. Either way these are absolutely lovely! 😊
I have not ventured into CP soap making yet. I still have so much to do with M&P base. I will do CP but not yet.
Awesome 🎉🎉
i would LOVE to have these soaps.
beautiful turn out. hello from NC!
Thank you :)
How do you make these heart shaped long bars?
It's at the begging of the video. I use silicone molds.
Sorry, didn't notice that! Thank you!!
this soap reminds me of playing cards
+Amber Simpson Queen of Hearts :)
I really want to try your soaps, do you do international orders?
+Nataku Sorry Nataku, Unfortunately I don't. Shipping costs from Australia to the rest of the world are so expensive.
+Dean Wilson (SentinelCandles) :( aww that's unfortunate.
hi Dean really love your videos how much would you sell a bar of your soap for and how many Ounces are your soaps
+Coleen Taylor In my retail shop I was selling my bars for $3.50 which is under priced. They should be $6 per bar. ( 100grams each = 3.5 Oz )
How we can get heart shape stick mould
You should be able to find one here on Amazon
