The minifigure lineup is near perfect, and the build is actually pretty cool! You don’t see anything like that nowadays. I think the droid army needs more attention nowadays!
I agree! They NEED to bring back the commando droid and the tactical droid in minifigure form. It’s been more than 10 years since they both lasted appeared in a set.

Where although the gunship has no pilot since it is a droid same as something like the hyena and vulture, but in the game since it's players then you jump into them like pilots. But in lore there is no pilot and there is no cockpit, it's literally all one droid and other droids ride in it like a troop transport by a deploying attachment in back of commando droids being able to ride on top.
I had that set. My favorite part of the set was the creative ways they used the parts to get the angled turrets and angled front thingy. also, the flick fire missles on the bottom were awesome because of the cool mechanism.
The droid piloting the gunship is actually a nod to droid vehicles in battlefront 2 2005 where battle droids would pilot droid gunships and other starfighters
The flick fire missile reminds me of the one on the jabbas palace. You would press a red button on the roof and it would push out the flick fire missile but the main reason it reminded me of that is because it didn’t go that far. It’s a great set but it just seems a tad small to trade a using for but it’s a nice set i wish I got it when it was out
The ship also is a drop ship that dropped off droids in the clone wars show so if the remake it they should make a version that unloads battledroids somehow.
The separatist bomber that was used to kill more separatists than it did republic forces. Before people type to me it’s a bit inaccurate but the droid gunship was commonly used to enforce separatist friendly rule in systems where the populace was less than friendly toward the separatists. It was also a flying nightmare due to the amount of bombs the thing could carry and how many guns it had.
It is because of battle-front, where these droids were space ships. I like to think it´s in case the droid brain is broken, so another droid can steer the ship.
This was one of my favourite ships and I adore this set. The Wookiee is Chief Tarful who is also amazing (anyone who has played Republic Commando knows what he can do!)
This set is very good and one of the best of 2019, and I always thought that Lego always included battle droids as pilots in both the Vulture Droid and the Gunship Droid I think because they were based on the 2004/5 battlefronts because they were non-automatic pilotable vehicles

It would be a really interesting concept though, similar to how human pilots typically have a R-Series, the droid ships actually were the ones flying while the battle droids shot, which could theoretically be plausible cause I believe that making a new ai with one simple purpose and reusing an old one would be cheaper than making a multipurpose new one since the confederacy basically fucked themselves by literally controlling the banks but going cheap as fuck on soldiers. But this all high minded speculation based on a Lego set

I bought this set for only five Euro. A friend of mine used to be the manager of a toy store and they needed space for new Stuff. So they tried to sell a lot and she went down with the price for me as much as she was allowed to and gave me her employee discount on it. I bought a lot of stuff I didn't really need this day but these prices were too good to don't buy a bunch of Stuff. A childhood dream came true this day.
I got mine from a bricks and minifigs with a decent deal used, a little story when I got back to the store to pick it up after they calling if they have it completed one of the staff told me they didn’t buy offer me with another one without the minifigs and then one with some stickers missing until they said “just kidding” and brought me one completed 100 as it turned out they had got 2 more which needed more time to be completed as well, it was something I wasn’t expected but it was entertaining along with me getting the gunship, just shows how amazing Bricks and minifigs are!

The gunship shouldn’t have a cockpit for another droid, also the b1 battle droids are completely inaccurate because of the “camouflage” which is actual the insignia for the AAT pilots, where the supposed “kashyyyk droids” were just plain battle droids

The set doesn't come with "bombs." If the build didn't have the landing gear it would sit super weird on the table.

Mine was insanely fragile. I couldn't even pick it up without it breaking
Is it inaccurate? Yes and no. The poor CIS droids needed each other so much. They didn't have enough computing power for the smallest task.
I still find it so strange that Lego used the AAT driver battle droids as Kashyyyk battle droids when they should have completely different designs.
I have the droid gunschip from 2014 that version can drop 6 bombs
