Wow, Gemma! You did amazing. To jump back from a rather eventfully and a bit of a traumatic birth only 5 months ago and do this! You are a true inspiration! I don't think Mia will be embarrassed. I think she will watch this knowing that she has a beautiful, inspirational mother who has shown others that anything is possible if you work hard! I think you were undermarked- You should have got more than 35! Very well done, Gemma and Gorka! Also, Mia is truly adorable! (On a side note, I think Strictly were pretty cruel giving you the Jive, I think you would have done better with a Waltz or a Rumba!)

Mia has a Spanish father. Being embarrassed of your parents is a quaint little thing of English-speaking countries.

They knew she is not the fittest right now , why give her a Jive?! I wish they had a smooth romantic waltz, but seeing their journey together is a very special sight to see! This is a Strictly curse done right!
I think the they got Latin because of the height difference. If they were a IRL couple there’s no way they would be paired together and she’s way too tall for him

@@miapendragon5931 they mean IRL dance couple, not romantic couple. They've not announced an engagement but Gorka does wear a ring and they live together with their daughter.

They're wrong. Mia would not be embarrassed watching this. Why should she? This is amazing! Gemma is such an inspiration to mothers everywhere!! Doing all of this, months after giving birth, as well as her normal gym stuff! She's amazing!!! 😀😆

Just reading Gemma’s body plan book for new mums which she mentions this performance hence the reason i’ve searched for it and oh my gosh I would not have been able to do this 4 months after my c-section. Gemma is so strong and such an inspiration.

The fact that this was a few months after birth which was traumatic for her and was struggling to back to her ‘normal’ self idk if that’s the right word 1. She looks stunning 2. She probably hadn’t danced since 2017 so to still dance that good two years later is great 3. She did great under all those circumstances
She looked tired (as a new mother she probably is) and there was no bounce in her moves. But they are a lovely couple!
Nah, I think she moved great. To partially quote Yoda, when an emergency c-section you have, move as good you will not!

@@zxaddictxz I actually think she's improved on her overall skill. Those scores looked pretty high for a "tired" person, indicating she moved better than you thought. The quote wasn't meant to convince you she danced better, that was an erroneous assumption on your part. It was meant to highlight the difference between tired, and recovering after having your body cut open to retrieve a small person. It was also meant as a bit of humor, bad or otherwise. This is all opinion, even the judge's.
ZZZaddictZZZ Why? You have to remember she hasn’t danced since 2017 and had a c-section in July gotta give her time and tbh the Jive was the wrong dance choice for her and Gorka maybe a American smooth or something less jumpy. She did amazing with what she’s been through.

Gorka was so sadly missed as a pro partner last series, massive mistake on the BBC's part, by far the most talented male dancer on the show. I hope he's back properly next series and the dreadful, clodhopping, gurning AJ is relegated to group numbers.
If I remember rightly, he asked not to be paired this year because of wanting to spend time with his new baby!
@@BellaAtkins Nope, it wasn't his decision. Hopefully he gets a partner in 2020.
Irrespective of their polarising personalities, AJ & Kevin are probably two of the strongest teachers in the pro lineup hence why they are never benched. Gorka is probably the best choreographer on the male side so I hope he gets a celeb next series and one that will take him to at least Blackpool.
@@josephdaisley3660 "Team AJ" really is a team, his routines and most of the teaching of his partners are done by a pro choreographer....

FYI, all of the pros use outside choreographers for Charleston, Argentine Tango, Couple's Choice, Salsa and sometimes the Showdance. The pros only choreograph the 5 Ballroom dances (Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep), the 5 Latin dances (Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Paso Doble) and American Smooth.

Did the singer say i saw momma kisso santa claus? Then half the words in the first chorus were not understandable at all! 100% strictly needs to change the band and singers next season and get rid of claudia winkleman! Will make the show so much better
