Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia, and Kentucky are some of the best kept secrets as far as affordable houses are concerned. You can still get three family homes in good shape for less than $100K. These places may not seem glamorous but your housing cost will be very low.
Nebraska too 😊 We are working hard on our debt free journey & our 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house holds a mortgage of $822 👏🏽 Our goal is to pay this off… we bought as a fixer upper for 98k and it is valued at $180k now. Love this likeminded community!!!

The best advice was the last one....don’t get greedy. What a great reminder. Thank you, it spoke to me. Pray for me that whatever the goal..we will whole heartedly keep Our Lord first and be generous with what we have and with our time. Thanks again & God bless 🙏🏻
For people who need to work 40 hours a week; it is possible to have emotional connections with children. Quality time really matters. Intentional living is possible.
My husband and I were chasing “the dream” when it all came crashing down. We had just moved to a new home. We needed both incomes to make it work. Our son was 11 months. The crashing economy cost me my job. Though the littles were important, I had to start with the bigs. I had to go where others feared and make it work. Interest rates where 11% for a 30yr and 8.75% for a 15yr. At the time their were ARM 1,2,3 and 5 yrs. We still had excellent credit, top numbers, but not for long if I didn’t fix the red. I found an ARM loan for 2.75% for one year, no points, just a a credit report $25 and appraisal $250 and $300 for closing and recording. I used the appraisal to lower our property taxes and cut it by $200. We were stuck in our car/home insurance due tickets, both of us. Then I attacked our $5 expenses, lol. I got us down to $30 a week for all food, personal and home goods (yes, including disposable diapers). I shopped 4 grocery stores for best prices, couponed, rebates, rain checks, etc. Next, I tackled electric usage. That was our only utility bill. Septic sewer and well water. I followed all the tips and tricks and got that down to $60-80 in spring/summer/fall and $120-150 in winter for a 3,300sqft home. No cable tv. I used the library for movies and books. I bought clothes at yard sales for .25-$1 new w/tags or excellent condition. We lived a full but frugal life. 2 yrs later I got a part time job and we refinanced again for 3%, same costs and a 2yr ARM. Though we planned to have 3-4 children, it didn’t work out so we decided to downsize. In total we refinanced 5 times. In 2001 we had only a line of credit for $30,000 on our $160,000 home. The interest was so low we stayed with that until 2004 when rates started to rise. Out home was valued at $375,00. It was a crazy market like now. Along the way I learned the importance of being a good steward of the resources God Blessed us with. We stopped looking for status and looked for quality of life. It helped us make the best decisions for our family.

Right? Why do we complicate our life with debt, distractions, and do things we don't want to do? We choose the life we want. Yes, may require hard work or creative thinking to go where we want, but we still have a choice. Thanks man!
So what do you do for money to cover monthly expenses? Did your purchase include both A-Frames (from first video I watched you said it was a duplex) and you rent out the other side for income?
Hi LaLady bug, sorry if I wasn’t clear. I live on one side and purchased one side for 56k including one garage. Many people are curious about how we make money, so I’ll make a video about it soon.

Jesus, tell of His yoke is easy his burden is light I sought to live this way. Stay in the Lord's world living and joyful daily life.
1000 sqft for 3 is not tiny. It’s reasonable. You are really doing great job by reducing the foot print and also reducing mental tensions. Ultimately being happy is what matters most. Though you didn’t ask just a small suggestion…. We should never compare ourselves with others. When we don’t compare with others we will never have any problem. At any point of time this comparison should not kick in in our mind. This is simple key to happiness. Lots of love from India.

Quick note.. your video material is really repetitive. Blah blah intentional.. blah blah paid our home off.. u need more variety of info. @2:30 what was the tipping point? Baby? Cheap apartment?
So what do you do for money to cover monthly expenses? Did your purchase include both A-Frames (from first video I watched you said it was a duplex) and you rent out the other side for income?
Hi LaLady bug, sorry if I wasn’t clear. I live on one side and purchased one side for 56k including one garage. Many people are curious about how we make money, so I’ll make a video about it soon.
Yes. Please create a facebook group. My wife and I are selling our house and moving as well to live mortgage-free. Would be nice to connect with like-minded people.
Love your channel! Thanks 😊
Thanks so much for watching, Cathy!
I would love to be a part of that group! I don’t habe Facebook but it’s simple to make an account haha. My wife and I are on the same journey. Living in more freedom and in More Joy of the Lord. Enjoying the small things in life and making the best out of it.
Thank you for doing this vid, very helpful! (just found your channel on a YT suggestion) Comment that stuck: 'We weren't sexy about the vehicle.' Migrating away from FB, might otherwise be interested in a group, but will continue to check out your content here (or Rumble, hint hint 🙂). Thank you again and God Bless you both & your little guy on the way!!!!

You will be a very successful life coach and God will bless you! You should do Patreon. You will do very well.
Appreciate it Ti - God bless!
Random Q: are y’all Pentecostal? :) also, your wife is a great decorator!
Yes we are! I agree 100% ;)
How many square feet!
About 1000
1000 sqft for 3 is not tiny.
Just found your channel! Enjoying your content. We are also from Michigan (southwest). What church do you attend (pastored by)? Working on our debt free journey.
Hey there! Thanks for watching 🙏🏽 Pastor Leaman - saginaw valley United!
@@gojereme Awesome!! We just planted a church here about 1 1/2 years ago. It's fun to find a RUclips channel by someone close!
Yes fb page please Thank you
Why Michigan ?? And why that the small city that you picked?
I'll try to about it in a video soon.
Hi, did y’all buy the a a frame house from the owner?
Hi, yes we did - from the original owner.
Can you guys share your Baby Steps Journey with us.
Good idea! What’s is it that you struggle with most during your debt free journey?
I would have never been brave enough to sink money into a manufactured home like that haha Congrats!
Haha...it was a hard pill to swallow. But there was no turning back. We had to make it work and with God’s help, we did.
Cool video. If not working 40 hours a week, how many are you working? And still in IT?
Hey Daniel - I address that question in this video ruclips.net/video/ekD5AZorIaw/видео.html
Yes facebook group please
I'll let my subscribers know once it's open.
Make the Facebook group!!!
Great video and awesome advice! Just curious are you doing anything to promote your channel? Seems like you're crushing it and you're only a month in. Great job!!
Appreciate it, Matt! What resonated with you the most?
I'm literally not. I know it's crazy. I haven't told anyone that I even started RUclips channel besides my immediate family. haha...got to thank the holy youtube algorithm!
@@gojereme Nice, well based your content so far, I think you're going to explode in no time... I like the stop asking 5 dollar questions and start asking bigger and better questions. It's easy to get caught up on the little things b/c they're easy to tackle so having a focus on the more important things makes total sense. Reminds me of the book "The Magic of Thinking Big"
Exactly. Focusing on simple things only gets simple results sometimes. Big things, big results! Thanks for watching, Matt!
Yes please create a facebook goop!😁 Im single and beginning to planmy way to freedom.

:)
Feels like he has control issues.
Crate the group
Quick note.. your video material is really repetitive. Blah blah intentional.. blah blah paid our home off.. u need more variety of info. Helpful hint.. not meant to be rude:) I've actually watched most of them... Change the topic a bit and the content. Drive around your neighborhood.. meet the locals and the stores in a small town.. what can we expect . Dont just keep patting yourself on the back. U did good. Now do more:) cheers
I’m following you on Instagram already the house page
Thanks for coming along :)
