the boys have been sleeping on very large parts of the hardcore scene for the last couple decades. lmao john caution had a lot to say about the division between the chaotic side of hardcore and brocore in the 00's- early 10's
Just saw Spacecowboy on Monday . Went in not necessarily a hater or fan just kinda indifferent but I must say they definitely killed it and I now consider myself a fan.
I’m dying for a video series where you and Bo change each others minds on bands. Like Colin diving deep into Coheed & Cambria and explaining why they’re so badass. THEY GOT PIT PARTS! Coheed is my favorite band and when I first heard Colin say he loves them I lost my shit
So happy to hear Connie bring up the pendulum. I've said that for years. When a group of people are forced to YANK back against mistreatment the other side is going to react by pulling back just as hard. It's why you see more public transphobia these days. Back then people were fine as long as they were living in the shadows but now that these individuals want to live out loud and proudly you get these nerds with too much to say about shit that's none of their business.
Hell yeah with the P!ATD A Fever You Can’t Sweat out mention. Thats my favorite album of all time! Meant to ask Connie how it was recording with Matt Squire, who produced that Panic! album.
Will someone let Connie know, as a long time vegan living in San Diego, that I have good news? Gorilla Eats Sushi has the best all vegan sushi imaginable. Litickers in OB has vegan California burritos. And fresh brothers has vegan Pepperoni and cheese for their pizzas.
Connie describing that first time you get absolutely slammed in the pit was exactly how I felt when I saw Stick To Your Guns open for blessthefall. That shit changed my music taste, being a little metalcore kid getting ROCKED during the first song was sick af
Busted my hand on someone’s skull at the SYSC Portland show the other night:) Connie please tell AJ his drum parts are incredible and fuckin hard to learn lol. Been playing along to y’all on my kit since Songs for the Firing Squad, funnest songs to drum to.
I knew exactly what MDK she was talking about. Halftime (pre Mizery), World of Pain, MDK, Brawl, Merauder. I had to miss it and have been crying ever since. That was back in 2012 or something. I also saw TT at che and backtrack with like 40 people in 2012 and TT killlled it. Set was insane.
I keep missing this band when they come to my city, but it shall not happen next time. Awesome episode, I didn’t know much about anyone in this band before but Connie seems awesome! And as a screamo dabbler, all the twinkly guitar shoutouts plus the Moss Icon shoutout are pretty lit
Saw SYSC at Genghis Cohen's in LA last Sunday with my homie Lemus's band Stateside and Foreign Hands opening. Jesus Barti Bhrist bro, prolly the best time I've ever seen them (I've seen them 3 times always opening on some insane bill). Connie was spin kicking, like 4 crowd killers going constantly, tiny packed out room just sweat drenched and GNARLY but good natured pit, people screaming lyrics into the mic when Connie held and crowd surfed it. Foreign Hands I didn't even know about before their set and that was one of the sickest sets I've ever seen. THEN SYSC played Programme like two hours later, fucking lunatics. All that ramble to say, as someone who only got the tail end of the 2000's metalcore explosion when it was already oversaturated and everybody was busy calling everybody else gay (and all the allegations, sheesh) this new rush of bands and the kids are fokken BRÖÖTLE, crazy hooks, great shows, great crowds. Definitely deserve support and more attention.
watching Connie name the most popular emo and screamo bands to completely blank stares from Cloin & Bo is golden

IKSSE3 and Good Apollo 1 are perfect albums.

I think I've never seen anyone be so respectful abt someones' transition after just bluntly asking abt it then the two cis guys on this podcast. :D
Relax, they're friends...its not like it was a random stranger...;)
Why do you type everything else out but not about.
Played with SYSC in Brisbane on their recent australian tour.
It was honestly one of the best performances ive ever seen/heard.
what's your band called?
the subtle luti-kris mention right after bo mentions norma jean 🔥
I’m glad someone else caught that too lol
ME AND HIM CALL IT US MENTIONED
Collin please listen to the Elysia demo right now if you haven’t already you would lose your fucking mind
SLEEPING ON. BOX OF NEEDLES & LION OF JUDAS. ASS BEATING TIME
Saw Elysia and Animosity in highschool back in 07 and I was sucked into heavy music. All I listened to was street punk at that point
The remaster of Masochist just dropped! (On Spotify on May 9th)
@@CloakedDnbthat shit was gas but their music before that was better
@@Chubbs_cc13are you from the future cause it is May 3rd and May 9th is next Thursday
as someone who got their introduction of most hardcore through skramz and screamo, this felt very validating
"whats ur favorite crime?" "currently? i like stealing a lot .. i like being a little theif" 😭😭 connie i love you

believe it or not Ethan Sgarbossa (guitarist for SYSC) actually played and probably wrote drums for that album
@@SJdrumz oh I know but AJ’s stuff on the new album is seriously impressive and they played it fucking great live.
I am now a lifelong SYSC fan because Connie listens to me and him call it us
'you ever play fortnite?" directly into "who's your favorite pokemon that looks like a human?" was such a perfect one-two punch
Yo, Connie's top 5 breakdowns really brought me back. I hadn't heard these in too many years.
Lit up hearing Me and Him Call It Us, Sawtooth Grin, Destroyer Destroyer and a ton of bands I listened to in high school. Awesome episode.
Loved the Neilly Perry and JFFB reference, grew up in the Philly area and saw them so many times.
Connie just casually name dropping Wolf's Rain like that?? craazzyyy
Colin: “I HATE dropping things.”
Bo: “Oh!”
Just listene to my first song from this band and now I'm hooked. Good shit!

Was lucky enough to run into Ethan and Timmy in STL, and such great people. New album fucks and I can’t wait to hear more.
This was a great conversation. Loved it!

Yes the scene in dupage was everything !!
This episode is fun as hell and that new record took me completely by surprise. Endlessly relistenable.
Connie is amazing. Mentioned Merchant Ships and William Bonney!!
Where’s that Connie playlist?
Anna Molly the best song ever, I love that record from Incubus it’s so close to the heart 🤘
So every skate park has a fight club with all the middle and high schoolers not just my local?
Never did I think Wolf’s Rain would get a name drop on this podcast 😂
This episode was amazing 🙏🏻
Awesome, more screamo (Gillian Carter would be a great pick, on the harder end of screamo)
the fact she gave acts like william bonney and other emo violence their roses is crazy to me
Screamo Avengers got me
