- Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has announced his retirement from the NFL after 18 seasons. Roethlisberger, a first round pick of the Steelers in 2004, is a two time Super Bowl champion and has been in six pro bowl appearances. He currently is ranked 7th all-time in NFL career passing yards, has the fourth-highest career winning percentage (.710) as a starter and 12th all-time in passer rating (94.3). Marcellus Wiley and Emmanuel Acho determine what Big Ben's legacy will be.

Wiley and Acho: thank you... I’ve heard a lot of analysis about Big Ben from 18 years.... yours is the best one. Acho go on bringing wisdom and heat... Wiley as well putting intelligence and pragmatism in your prose. Big Ben deserves your words.
This wasn’t accurate he’s played bad the end of last year and this year they said he fell off 4 or 5 years ago. The pat macafee show did way better.
I’m glad y’all gave him his respect , all the other networks trashed him
Big Ben’s career stats are all about 6-7th all-time. Ppl forget how good his career was. Fans use other QBs to put him down, but let’s not forget Ben has been to 3 Super Bowls (2 more than Rogers) & won 2. He’s made it to more AFC championships than Rogers has NFC championships (in the AFC with Brady’s Pats & Manning’s Colts.) He also has better career stats with the same # of seasons. He led the NFL in touchdowns & passed for over 4.5k yards just 1 year ago. Mostly, he really was the model for tough QBs who break tackles. I’m actually a Brady fan, but there is ZERO doubt in my mind he’d be horrible behind the OL the Steelers has had for the last few years
He got all those yards the season they weren't in contention, he's been deep I. The playoffs like once in the last 10 years. The defense and the refs carried him in first super bowl. He did his thing in the second super bowl, the 3rd one he lost to Rodgers and didn't really make a difference, after that it was a whole Lotta stat padding
Yeah. Pittsburgh, 6. Ben, 7. Ben 6'7. Ben won the 05-06 superbowl by beating the 06-07 champions in an upset. Etc, etc, etc.
Rodgers
1X SB
1X SB MVP
4X MVP
4X First Team All Pro
5X All Pro
10X Pro Bowl
Will retire top 2 in Touchdowns and Yards if he doesn’t retire this year.
Big Ben does not even compare with Rodgers
@@igzx6885
Ben
Rookie record stands at 13-0
None of them not Rodgers, Allen, Pat, Burrow none of them have done that, only QB to throw over 500 yards 3 times, only QB to throw over 450 yards in 4 games. Most TD'S in a 2 week span with 12, 18 seasons never had a losing season. 6 time all pro, led the league in passing 2 times, 3*SB won 2. Don't matter he didn't go deep in the playoffs Rodgers gets to the championship and implodes so what's you point, when you wear the black and yellow you will be disrespected and over looked for awards and shine as you can see TJ should be looking at 3 DPOY awards but people from Pittsburgh understand those awards really don't mean nothing cause they'll try their damnedest not to give it to one of them.
@@Bigsteve123 bro isaid deep in the playoffs, alot of those years the afc was weak so teams like Tim Tebow broncos and Blake bottles jags , tyrod Taylor's bills etc would make it. Plus they got curbed stomped by shifty teams ex: broncos and jags. Like isaid a whole lot of stat padding after the third super bowl
"He can win a gunfight with his bare knuckles."- Wiley on Big Ben
"He can win a gun fight with his bare knuckles" That's 7. Thank you Ben for 18 awesome years of winning.
Salutes Ben, NoOne took a pounding like that dude! Respect!!! Thanks for the memories man✌️
He led the league in passing yards the season before the elbow injury
That's what happens when you have way more pass attempts than everybody else.
@@johnnybgood7442 This literally means nothing. He still was number one.
@@JOCSTAR3 maybe you should literally look up the word literally. Are you claiming that more yards has no correlation with more attempts?
@@JOCSTAR3 yeah I thought so
They nailed it. Big Ben had winning in his DNA. Forget about his 3 Super Bowl appearances and 2 rings. Forget about 18 years without a losing season. If you REALLY want to appreciate how much of a winner Big Ben was, look at the last two years when he CLEARLY was falling apart physically, but he STILL (somehow) led the Steelers to a 21 win/12 loss record with 2 playoff berths and an AFC North crown. EVEN OLD Big Ben won more than most QB's in their prime. What a legendary career.
He didn't lead them, the defense did. They were great last year, hence the record. They weren't as good this year and their record slipped. Just like in his SBs, he was carried most of the time.
@@johnnybgood7442 man you really hate ben don't you, you cant respect players even though all the players he played against give him their respects
@@n8tethegr8t20how is spitting facts make me a hater? Im responding to the claim that he "lead them" to their recent records, when in reality, he was already washed, and the defense did the leading.
Finally people finally giving Ben his proper respect
Big Ben Roethlisberger is a first ballot HOFer all day long and a top ten quarterback all time! Thank you Ben
Love you guys! So entertaining!!
"Big Ben" Roethlisberger
2× Super Bowl champion (XL, XLIII)
NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year (2004)
6× Pro Bowl (2007, 2011, 2014-2017)
2× NFL passing yards leader (2014, 2018)
NFL records:
Most career 500-yard passing games (4)
Most career perfect passer rating games (4)
Most completions in a regular or post season game (47)
I know Bradshaw won more super bowls but Ben broke all of Bradshaws passing records in Pittsburgh.
Not broke, shattered. Not even close.
Wish we could of seen the play.
Big Ben, the toughest quarterback in the NFL "Ever"!!!! No one come close!!! Congrats Big Ben, good luck on your next chapter, you will be missed Legendary!!!!👏👏👏👏👍😉
Great show, thank you as a steelers and be fan,
Proper respect. Thank you.
Thanks guys. You guys showed Ben the respect he's always deserved but rarely got. People were always saying "Well he is but he isn't." "Well he can but he can't. " His postseason record is better than Peyton Manning. He actually shares records with Manning and Brady but never got the same amount of respect. This guys did it right.
I'll miss big ben, he showed that my body type can be NFL QB
Lol 😂😂
There are a bunch of fat boys on the oline
@@tomstorm7926 😂😂😂 stop it you need the big boys tho lol 😂
Dude you know the average olinemen in the NFL runs at least a 5 flat in the 40? They are 300+ lbs most of the time too. Incredibly fast for people that big.
Ben will be missed. I'm looking forward to see what the Steelers will do this season.
Well Done!
Snap, that jacket Acho, love it,
Ben was a true great, ive loved every minute of it, thank you.
Strong willed. Won't be denied. Feared. Won't take no for an answer.
And I haven't gotten to his footballl career yet.....
Ayooooo
One more year!
On the winning, he only played 3 games in his career that the outcome didn’t matter.
that is an elite stat and grouping right there, way to go finding that, DROP THE MYKE ACHO
hey Acho and Wiley, 2018 was arguably his best year (the year before the injury)..so saying he was going down hill four years ago may be overstating things.
Sounds like he's number one in physicality
Ben was amazing to watch his toughness was one of old school football players n that pump fake
Big Ben have a great retirement coming from a cowboys fan great career.
It’s great to hear from real athletes who’s been there in the field rather than the clowns like SAS, Skip, Nick, etc., who bash on the players like they’ve done it better.
Not the same!!
They started last season
11-0 ?!
Didn't they?
Wiley has bashed BigBen for years. Seems strange hearing respect.
Marcus said Ben's an old soul.
I totally agree with that statement.
He's a throw back Steeler.
One of the nastiest pump fakes I’ve ever seen.
Well young fellow, The Rams had a dude ln the day Roman Gabriel back with the Fearsome aka Rosey Grier and Lamar Lundy, Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen...Roman as 6' 5" not quite as heavy as Ben but he was physical yes indeed...was MVP 1969. Dude was nice..
I can show you many highlights 2015, 2016, 2017 that absolutely oppose what you say about the end of his career and 2018 he led the league in passing with over 5100 yards, so there's that.
My dude Acho funny as fucc
He lead the league in passing yards in 2018. What is he talking about started slipping in 2015
Yeah ima miss big ben
Ben's stats in Super Bowl XL against the Seahawks are absolutely horrible
He didn’t need to play great that day, they had a reverse pass for TD and a 75 yard run from Willie Parker. Ben was lights out all three playoff games to get there. Winning a Super Bowl is more than one game, you have to run the playoffs.
@@jonathanricciardi5215 yes but QBs are remembered for their SBs, not their playoff wins. And lights out is a little much... I would say solid game managing. He only completed 14 passes in the first two games. But he didn't turn the ball over and was like I said.... Solid. But normally when a QB plays that bad in a Superbowl, they lose.
His legacy? I’m sure they didn’t talk about all of his legacy
He did win a lot and was durable. I'll just mention the good things today. He just retired.
I’m just realizing they call him Big Ben because of his size.
Not understanding "no means no"
Josh Allen is the present QB who will probably have a long and successful career and has the attributes of becoming a Hall of Famer who instills toughness and fear in the QB position.
Hall of fame of nfl
When wiley coyote steps in the building, everything changes
Gravity = -9.81 ft/s
He's actually pretty small
Hof!!!
ben is just a massive man, yes he has some fat but he was almost as wide as he was tall, i remember that shaq/ben program where they play horse at ben's house and football as well and during the whole shoot, shaq almost looked like a normal size human because the only difference between the 2 was the extra 6 inches that shaq had but that actually made the 2 look closer in size, i mean side by side they equally filled out each and every scene
Big Ben had a great career. He will be missed. He will be in the NFL hall of fame
This got ova shadow bye TB retirement
Itty bitty ben
We got the California Raisin and the clown prince of crime out here
Brady also lost more SBs than other QBs have actually been to.
He was like Charles Barkley but with 2 rings
So nothing like Charles bc he has 2 rings ? Lol
That is a very interesting take...
Brady did not only win with 2 coaches, he won it with 2 teams.
Just mentioning him calling guys out on the radio doesn’t do the “leader of men” justice for how poorly he handled criticism. Need I remind people of how he responded to being picked by a DLineman?
Very simple. One word. BATHROOM
The Steelers never had a losing season when Ben started? Well, sure. Look at the division the Steelers are in ...
As opposed to Tom Brady playing in the AFC East.
they didn't have a losing season even when Rudolph and Hodges started. This is a bigger accomplishment for Tomlin than Ben
For half of his career 2/3 divisional opponents had winning records
@@johnnybgood7442 or maybe the defense the year that Ben got hurt.
@@markcoucke7211 idk what that sentence means
If he was black that original me too movement against him would have gotten him kicked out the league.
He made it through all that
Not enough being said about this
It was a big story at the time and he was suspended.. were in the me too movement now yet trying hill is not suspended and is never talked about. Let's nor play the if he was black game.. was Kobe suspended . No. Both sellted with women out of court..
.
Ben Roethlisberger's Legacy:
"Very simple one word...Women"
(Swear thats what i heard him say)
Ben Roethlisberger is overrated and does not even have a 2 to 1 touchdown to interception ratio
He won lots of games because his defense and running game bailed him out countless times
Troy Polamalu carried those teams breaking games. Wide open
⭐️ ben’s first Super Bowl he only completed nine passes & 0 TDS
Overated
Marcellus Wiley is the absolute worst analyst on tv.
