I wasn’t aware of any of these customs but I’m happy to say that I already practice some of them!!! I’ve always been that way and it is odd to my relatives😊 so I might be a little Dutch inside
Hey, great video and thanks for sharing the recommendations. My wife and I have been thinking about starting hiking / camping recently and your videos are inspiring and give really good and useful tips to us 👏
Just subscribed, well done you spoke very well. Just getting back into hiking again, finished 32km Celtic Camino from Bray to St James church Dublin, and looking for some nice looped walk, to train for Spanish Camino next year. Regards Monica
When are you going to do a weekend camp (pun intended) on camping / hiking for beginners. Would really like to have someone help me so that I don’t have to do 4000km to learn. Mentor me!
Sorry for the late reply - yes, we camped on virtually every one of the national waymarked trails! It's always best to ask a land owner and follow leave no trace principles, but we never had a problem!
Yes, I would recommend two walks - the Dingle Way and the Beara Way. But be warned: The Beara is very strenuous and is no stroll in the park! However, the way marking is great. If you'd like some photos, send me a reply and let me know.
Do you guys think the Wicklow Way is an ok trail to start with? We plan to do it in a 7 day hike. With bagage transfers, so only day pack carries. We do regular walks in the Belgian Ardennes, but never longer then 2 days. Your channel has been a great help already in planning for our first trail! Thanks in advance.
Hello! Yes over 7 days with luggage transfers etc., it should be a lovely hike! Just remember not to push yourselves too much during your first few days and it should be fine. When are you doing it? I hope the weather is as nice for you as it was for us! ☺️
@@ToughSoles Hi! Thanks for replying! We plan on going during the end of august. And add three days in Dublin after, to explore the city. Good to know it's doable! I'll try and keep in mind not to force the first few days. We are going south to north and that should be the more gentle start if the blogs/videos are any indication. I'm also very much hoping the weather will be good, but regardless. I think it's going to be an enjoyable first trail for us! Keep up the lovely videos on the channel!
I've been on the whole Wicklow Way, and the first two days are especially beautiful. The countryside is a lot like the fourth walk described in the above video. Have you done it yet?
Hi, I think the Slieve Bloom Way is a bit more than I would usually recommend as a starter hike if I’m honest! But depends on your underlying fitness, if you’re fit just new to hiking it might still be fine. - ellie
Hi - just subbed! I'm a hiker/camper from Belfast always on the lookout for a good pitch!, so the one you mentioned 'The Barrow Way'? seemed most suitable to camp... you might want to try north of the border - check out my channel for Mourne Mountain walks and the like! (I know, that was a bit of cheesy self promo).
Awesome!! Stuff 👍 great upload. Ciao from italy🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹 fv

Very informative. I love that those trail systems are improving all the time and opening up to cyclists too.

@@ToughSoles I think I'll giver a go. I'll just take it easy if it gets a bit much. Thanks :)
Have you walked the Camino?
Yes, we walked the Camino del Norte from Biarritz in 2015! It was a great experience - hopefully we'll get to do it again quite soon!
Mayo - the most beautiful place in the world!
Not long enough ! Only joking, thanks for the video :D
Haha thanks 😄
And great to hear from you! Hope life’s treating you well
