I couldn't believe that I was watching a free workshop. This is so professionally done and creatively and simply illustrated and explained. Thanks a lot for sending us ripples of your precious knowledge and expertise. Can't wait to share this precious workshop with my students.
You probably dont give a shit but does someone know a tool to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
You are so right! It started off as a random video and then ended up actually starting to give ideas of how to start at sketch-noting without being overwhelmed .. so loved the video
I rarely ever comment on RUclips videos. Maybe I've commented on 3 videos my entire time on RUclips. But this is very very helpful. As a visual learner, this is extremely helpful. Thanks a million Mike
Thank you so very much, my sons are doing their university entrance exams and after watching this are now creating summaries in a visual way. For my son who is Dyslexic this is wonderful, as he can now recall so much information without as much reading. We appreciate your kindness in sharing your knowledge. Liz
Hey Mike - I just ordered both your books today. I am super excited. I listen to my Pastor and I love taking notes during church but I really don't like words with note taking. I started to research a better way to take notes. I came to find you. ❤️
@@katerehman3512 I meant in the channel. I believe The Sketchnote Workbook includes video, some editions of The Sketchnote Handbook include video and some do not - it will be clearly described on the book cover.
Mike-- thanks so much for this! I"m a classroom facilitator, and I've been trying to use visual note-taking/sketchnote-ing with my ESL learners. Because their English is limited, this is a great tool for disseminating information without lecture. Thanks for helping me beef up my foundational skills!
That's great to hear Jamie! In other situations with teachers, they also mentioned the value of sketchnotes in situations with language learners - I think there's something special about visualization in those cases that sketchnoting seems to fulfill!
Mike Rohde Absolutely! My background is in adult learning, and this is a really great tool that helps them feel empowered without losing the value of the content. Thanks again for such a great introduction!
Very well explained and well made for people at all level of art skills. I will use this to practice on sketch note and teaching. Great lesson! I am very thankful to you!
A super way of doing meeting info/conf info etc. I started watching sketchnote about a month ago and think it is amazing. Thank you for sharing this on RUclips.
Thx Mike. Great vid. I can actually see myself incorporating some of these ideas into my notetaking. It’s great to hear from a UX designer who works in the real world how you take notes. As an IT professional I have finally realized that my notetaking is needing more sophistication in order to capture more ideas it faster time and with more detail. My goal is also to change everything to digital as well. As a sidenote I’ve never had sermon notes look like yours. There is always next Sunday :-)
thank you so much this was really good.. I am just discovering sketch note and I wish I knew it a long time ago .. I am a visual person and this is really changing moment for me :)
Loved this workshop! Sketchnoting is new to me, so trying to absorb as much info to keep it simple. I am big on details, yet my tree house tree had not one leaf in the allotted 10 minutes..
Hey! This mini Workshop is giving me confidence to enhance my sketchnoting skills, and use them for my lectures and my beginnings in UX design! Thank you for sharing your expertise in a clearly explained video. 😁 I have only one question: where do we share the results of our Tree House exercise, if such chanel is still open?
Sir, you sound so similar to where i am and have been for a couple years or more... i feel like i have to write notes on impt things... in pencil in case of mistakes and so on... interesting
Niall, that's right. I captured the iPad on video via a lightening cable to my MacBook Air, recording into the QuickTime Player with the source switched to the iPad Pro via the lightning cable. Audio provided via custom source - my Samson Meteor microphone coming into the other USB port.
Yep! Used QuickTime Player to record the iPad as a source coming through the lightening cable through the USB port. Same for the audio source from a nice microphone.
I have your book in Grman language, yet in future, I will buy your Books in English language, because I greatly dislike the German sample done for Germany's next top model. I suppose this was a decision made by the German distributor and probably you didn't even know about this decision.
Tried this with my artistic, easily distracted 9 year old and it turned into an art project. By the end she had no idea why she had a page of volcanoes but it was pretty and that’s all she cared about. They say this is good for ADHD but I guess not for 9 year old artists 😂
Kristin - this actually sounds like a great start! One thing I have learned about sketchnoting over the years is that it's a practice, and needs time to see progress. I would encourage your daughter to keep on trying out the idea, sketchnoting short videos, books she likes, TV shows - let her follow her interests and learn it that way. A summer worth of this kind of practice can then build her skills for school next year. Don't give up! Keep her going!
Mike Rohde thank you for the response. She likes to draw and views it as an art project 😂 Hopefully it will work for her since she isn’t one for reading things
Amazing and awesome thank you thank you thank you at 75 it’s never too late I ❤️ sketchnoting this was really fun I’ll send you a photo of my treehouse to your email if you give it to me I don’t post on twitter or instagram 🥰

Can you make a video about creating hierarchy in sketchnotes?
That's a great suggestion - thanks!
Thanks, for sharing the insight to your sketches. No wonder the sketch looks familiar in Rework!
Thank you for this! I enjoyed this workshop and I'm surely gonna be using this throughout my career!

Thats exaclty how i end up looking or a solution for my notes, now im studying visual thinking, to process all my class notes
Fantastic! I hope the approach works well for you.
Mike really enjoyed - was this all done in Paper 53 and ipad screen recording?

Thanks for watching the video and being interested in my books. I'm glad there are multiple languages for people, I'm happy you have options!
Great! Thanks!

I’m unable to watch this. “Something went wrong. Tap to retry.” I’ve retried several times.
Carlos Benjamin are you using the RUclips app? Another machine maybe?
Mike Rohde App. On the iPad. But when I came here to respond to this it started playing. Thanks.
Mike Rohde Ah.... it does the same thing if I try to cast it to my TV, which is how I watch RUclips videos. It frees up my iPad to take notes.
Mike Rohde I tried it again directly from the TV (rather than casting it from the tablet to the TV). It just doesn’t like the TV I guess.
