Check out Hood Rubber Co's Rocket Oxford or Rocket High Cut shoes if you like PF Flyers. The companies were associated at one time. Mitchell and Ness just relaunched the brand last year in late 2021. Their Rocket shoes look like PF Flyers w/ the iconic stripe in the back. Hood Rubber Co was originally founded in 1896.

I got a pair and on the outside side of the left shoe, the rubber is bent inward and it squeezes my foot to the point that it hurts. Anyone else experience this?

They did have some they made in America. They would have been higher priced obviously. I don't think there is a huge demand for PF Flyers though, more nostalgia than anything. They are better shoes than Converse though, no question. Thicker laces, sole and canvas.
