Britt you were a great camera person ........ i agree those tongs you were using looked like a lot of work ......... when i watch you pulling with your Boys i really miss the days of watching Grandpa and then later my uncle using horses to work the land ......... removing the dead trees and fertilizing the soil at the same time instead of killing an entire forest and polluting the land in the process making it hard for trees to grow in the future .......... keep up the great work for future generations
I’ve come to watch every one of your videos. At first I was a bit skeptical but you guys have my interest. I do not know horses but we have a lot of Amish in Northern NY state. When I buy lumber I buy it from Joseph & Daniel at Hemlock Lumber. That’s as close as I get to horses. I’ve got a Kubota L3560 for moving logs in my 40 acre woods. Mostly hardwoods, not a single Oak tree Alas. Keep ‘em coming Wallace’s. Stay safe.
@@wallacefarmandsawmill I have a 5000 dollar 16hp gas, electric start then fully manual Hudson bandsawmill. I drool over woodmisers even at this age in life.
It was sure nice to see the horse hauling those logs. Just love it. You can certainly sharpen that saw. It cuts like butter. My father has to have his saw like that. That,s his saying got to cut like butter. It,s our Newfie saying. Yes your wonderful lady done a good job film this and trying to keep up with the horse. Take care to you and your familyn.
You need to watch Working Horses with Jim...he há been logging and working horses for a long time ....he has a cart hooked to the horses that you ride on and then hooks logs to it that way you ride on the cart and don't have to walk ...think you would enjoy his channel and maybe even pickup some valuable info
You might put some PULLING SHOES on that team & it would give them even more confidence with better footing.. but thats just my opinion!!!!!!! Good looking Horses
good work guys, had a pair of tongs about 3 days threw them in the scrap pile went to chocker off a skidder never went back, tried grabs but only in softwood would they work good old chocker with a bitch hook and a keyway rest of my career, nice work Brit
Hi both,I recall seeing your son on his horse at the time when you introduced the belgian horses to us and now you tell us that you have five horses so what is the info on the other two.I remember when I was a youngster (80 years ago ) when most jobs on the farms depended on the horse for most jobs and i found it a mystery how the horse could be controlled by a flick of the reins and a quiet word and here we are with the evidence how you manage to do this.Thank you.
Enjoyed the content, thank you. Working the horses ain’t no cake walk, I can surely see, but Jasper & Sampson seem to be shaping up to a couple’a good boys. God bless, ttyl 🐴💪🙂👍
do you peel the bark off those poplar logs? around where i live the bark is more valuable than the lumber. it makes beutiful siding for mountain homes =, especially when stone is also used.
Tyler, where’d you get the logging grabs? I have an antique set with built in swivels, but I’m missing that hammer. I had it at one time but it has disappeared. They belonged originally to a relative of mine who had Belgians. We just used them for dragging firewood. They worked well.
Question? When the tree hits the ground does it immediately become a log or does it have to be sawed into pieces before they become logs? How much money is a 12 foot long poplar log worth? How much money is that same log worth after you LT-40 it into lumber? When are you'll getting the brand new sawmill?
Awesome video and yes a big hand to Mrs Brittney they did great enjoyed the video very much thanks for sharing great job mister Tyler take care god bless
I know you guys are profession, but I never seen you measure the length of the logs you needed, so how are you able to cut the length without wasting extra length, or even short sometimes?
Another great video guys, love the horses!!👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks so much!

@@wallacefarmandsawmill totally agree
I love seeing your horses at work.
Thanks! We will keep at it!
Great job to both humans and also to the horses
Great job narrating Brittany! Great logging Tyler! Enjoyed the workout!😊
Glad you liked it!!
Good to see the old ways
Good job, both of you!
Thank you!
I made a habit of always cutting off my hinge and the stumps. This makes the wood lot much easier to work, and my logs more sought after by the mill.
Good video 👍 Nice seeing the horses work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job Brit!
you and the horses work good together I'd be afraid of rolling a log on ankles.

I could still run a manual mill but I do love the hydraulics!
This day and time most people have seen a horse work in a logging operation. Great content.
I Really appreciate the time you spent with the horses and the time you spend making your videos,,,Please keep updating your website
Loved to see the team working, please show more. ❤

It goes to show, there is still room for the old ways, in this modern computerized world.

Cudos to all of you , including the horses 🐴, for your hard work !! Just be safe ! 👍🪵😎
Thank you! Will do!
@@wallacefarmandsawmillIs the popular tree a breed of its own or does it belong in the oak family or something else?
Own species.
Great videography Britt!
Glad you liked it!!
Been horse logging 50 years. Threw my tongs away 49 years ago.Only use choker chains, as you only hook once.
Agreed!
Good show

Outstanding to you all there ❤❤❤
Loved it. thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
THANKS!
You're welcome!
The tongs that cantilever, with an arm almost never drop the log. Tongs that come to a single ring are made... I don't know why they make those.
Still enjoy your video's.
Nice video and good job
Thank you so much 😀
5 horses? A side job? WTG Brittany well done./ Yep no motor, hard work.
Done!

Hi, great videos how much do the logs weight JEZ
Actually, Brittany encountered EEE today (Equine Exhaust Emissions). Another way of saying..........."used horse feed".

Great video Brittney, what work boots did Tyler have on in this video, thanks have a blessed evening
Carolina loggers.
@ thanks again Brittney,I will look into them for a new work boot thanks again
How big is your property???
really nice beautiful . why no log arch ??
You forgot your chain saw protection
Awesome video and yes a big hand to Mrs Brittney they did great enjoyed the video very much thanks for sharing great job mister Tyler take care god bless
Glad you enjoyed it!
With a cart like Jim uses you chain the logs so don't have to use tongs
Hi Tyler, will you be clear cutting that area over time and if so will you end up planting there? Thank u.
Undecided.
Have you seen the site logging with horses with Jim. I meant video.
What do you think about giving the horses a treat every time they do something good. Like you would a dog during his training. God bless.
Do you ever use sn arch to pull your logs?
Going to be building one soon!
Bar oil?
It was full.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Always hear planes Is it an airport or military base
I know you guys are profession, but I never seen you measure the length of the logs you needed, so how are you able to cut the length without wasting extra length, or even short sometimes?
the only thing you break a horse of is its spirit , dope you teach and train horses not break
👐👐👐👐👐👍👍👍👍👍
Great job training Jasper and Sampson Tyler. Nice work Brittney filming too.
Thanks so much!
The ears look like a Jack
What breed horse, how old? Thx
Why not make a leather or rubber mat to go underneath the log so it want dig in .
