Ah, the San Fernando, CA earthquake. I was 4 and we lived in Bloomington. The only thing I remember is my Mom and I running into each other in the dark in front of the bathroom between my room and my parents'.
@@AKATEATime I was six and remember it so well. My entire family fled that day in our White old Rambler to Texas where I did not speak for two days. We lived in North Hollywood just 1.5 miles away from the epicenter.
@@AKATEATime My grandmother and sister's father were getting ready for work when it hit. Came in like a roaring train and the Earth literally had waves. That is when the VA hospital was split down the middle and one side lived the other side did not as it crumbled. I still remember seeing the outside light where the ceiling and the wall meet. We sat in the Rambler with a dinky hand held radio listening to the horrors. We left California that day to never go back. I think we made the right decision. btw, after two days my first words were "hamburger" as I was starving.
I lived through a 6.5 in 1971 Feb 9. I want no more.
