Ross! That “see you later” was perfect Aussie speak! Congrats! You’ve made it! 😍🇦🇺👍
Thanks! 😃
Another job where you can work in many countries, including Australia, is as a social worker! They're currently in need in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and South Africa if you're looking at English-speaking countries. They're also in need all around the globe but from what I've researched definitely paid better compared to the cost of living in Australia. I'm American and have been looking at which countries pay their social workers better compared to here
Still probably underpaid but still better paid than many other countries
On the subject of cooks and chefs. To simply answer this question, a chef is an individual who is trained to understand flavors, cooking techniques, create recipes from scratch with fresh ingredients, and have a high level of responsibility within a kitchen. A cook is an individual who follows established recipes to prepare food.
Interesting!
Love that my occupation is number 2 on your list. Gives me hope
Nice one Jason
GP = General Practioner aka Dr you go see in a clinic for that random rash. RMO (Resident Medical Officer) - Doctor you see in the hospital system - aka Dr that you see in ED when you've broken a bone. Different further studies/ qualifications are needed depending on the path the doctor chooses to specialise in.
Thanks Sarah
This may seem a very random question - and sorry it is not directly related to jobs - does the weather make you generally feel healthier? Presumably less colds and sniffles, but general wellbeing? I suffered a severe back injury while serving in the British Royal Marines and on bucket loads of pain meds daily - I was recently talking to someone who worked for 3 years in Australia and said that he almost forgot he had chronic arthritis, until he returned to the UK and the pain was back within days. I leave the UK on 27th March to live in Adelaide and I would love to be able to decrease my pain meds. Thanks for these videos - have been hugely helpful and got me really excited about our family moving out there!
Thanks for your service. While the weather won't cure what ails you necessarily, it does go a long way to improving your overall mood which will affect how you generally feel about things. The warm weather would also help things not getting so stiff so easily too
As a student nurse this list fills me with confidence that I'll be able to find a job after I finish my degree. Did just apply to volunteer at a hospice as well, so fingers crossed 🤞
As always, amazing content! Salamat Po!!
Thanks Stephanie
Stephanie, are you Nepalese? I just spent time in two hospitals before going to a nursing home for respite, and there are more Nepalese staff than any others! They were wonderful!
@@Jeni10 hello 👋 I am part Filipino
@@Steph_Bx13 Oh! So am I, due to my grandfather!
Gps are in a medical practice, whereas a Resident works in a hospital.
Which is better?
@@ThatJohnstonLife Well, a resident is part of the doctor’s medical journey, the last stage before they choose which direction to go in their career. Many decide to go into general practice or join another doctor’s practice. Some decide to branch out and study a specific area of medicine, leading to a specialist practice. So every doctor has a turn as a resident in a hospital before stepping out on their own path.
Sydney here - housing should be addressed
We’ve people that have come over here 8 months ago and still can’t find housing, living in backpackers
Money can’t buy rental rooms or housing especially along the coast in QLD NSW VIC
Some end up leaving the country due to housing
So just a reminder- we’ve loads of social n economic refugees from around the world especially the UK, you might find a job but you might have to reside in youth hostels in shared dorm, pay lot more than a rental property til you find a housing
You may want to put down few months rent as deposit if you want to secure it
So be aware !!
You may have to live in youth hostels for awhile
Thanks Aska, May make some think about living elsewhere
@@ThatJohnstonLife QLD is worse in housing. No one wants to live in backpackers or housing and go to work, sharing 1 bathroom with 6 or more people
Some Brits went back home because they can’t find a place to live
Some live in tents
Some pay 6 months rent in advance to secure housing
Please be responsible and address
these issues rather than airing “look at how beautiful life in Australia is, and you can too”
Because uprooting lives and moving here expecting beautiful life is not the reality for many that do arrive
Cheers and welcome to Australia
I’m coming back to Australia in April. I’ve been a teacher at American international schools overseas for 25 years, decided to retire from that profession. Will be looking for something less stressful 😂.
You deserve a Congressional Medal of Honour!!
@@markeaston7353 And my hair back👍🏻
Medal of Honour OR A lifetime's worth of valium 🤣🤣🤣MUCH respect from me. Not sure I'd want such a crazy person to be my best mate, but hey welcome back lol....Im only kidding lol....Seriously, after 25years of limited sanity, I think maybe you need to be taking a year or two off, and hitting a luxury spa and the beaches for awhile - just until the constant shakes cease anyway lmao
@@roslynjonsson2383 Your advice is excellent. Spas, beaches.
@@roslynjonsson2383 On another note, I never thought this job would be this hard. Most people who choose this profession, do it for noble reasons. Some have other agendas. Having said that, thank you for the welcome back to OZ👍🏻😃
I've been working in Tech for 11 years and am a IT Product Manager. I'm 35, from the U.K- what are my best options for getting a job visa in Australia?
Hi, my wife gave up her job as a children's nursery manager 10 years ago as it was seriously over worked and underpaid. We are now trying to find out if her qualifications would be enough to get us over there as I'm just a postmen 😁 and offer nothing in the high skills list. Really wish it was easier, we would sell our house tomorrow and move there.
Good luck
A little advice to people who wanna be nurses, in Australia depending where you live. Its terrible, lack of staff, crap pay, stressful hours. Its rewarding obviously but its rough. Also to international people, don't come to australia we got a rental crisis here atm.
Depends where you're coming from. You've still made it not sounds worse than the UK
Bakers are also in high demand. At work we have a skeleton crew because no one likes the early mornings.
Just need better workers
Yep agree, that's what I do. Early mornings, physical labour and the pay could be better are the main reasons. But you'll be more often employed if you're half decent!!
4300 + For motor mechabics ... Ive been a mechabic for near 10 years in the Uk and have experience and qualifications in cars vans and motorcycles desperate to move to Australia ive began my vetassess application but im not optimistic as apparently not much allocation for visas and an Australian recruiter said i would be wasting my time applying... Wonderful
There is a chronic shortage of Mechanics in the UK as well but the industry dosnt want to pay for them hence many left and now we are paying the price
Funnily my wife is a disability care manager so we both have careers in the top 6
Hope you're able to get out here soon
Thanks again for a wonderful video Ross ....you POM 😄
My pleasure!
Aren’t teachers really just glorified babysitters lol😂 if I said that to my uncle he’d probably bitch slap me
Teachers are really teachers of fake indoctrination....and most too stupid to see it !
He's probably right Mark
Hi there, got a question. Are drivers needed in Australia and how does it work? would my current license need to be migrated to an Australian one and how does the procedure work? Been thinking of moving to the land down under for some time now and I truly don't know where to start.
Would love some guidance and help on where to even start from deciding what state, what city, what job, what visa and overall how to get started with this whole process of moving your whole life to a new country.
We have lots of videos on all the different parts of your questions. Hope they help
If your a carpenter in Australia get a job on union high rise sites. 2500$ per Week take home after Tax
Great advice 👍
Is it possible / easy to get a software engineer job in Australia as a foreigner and get sponsored ? I am a web developer in Paris looking to move to Australia but it seems like I have a very low chance of getting hired as a foreigner in there without a long term / permanent visa
A cook doesn't have a certificate to prove they can cook. Chef is employed mostly by a restaurant, and has completed an apprenticeship - a cook for a local deli / fish n chips shop / pubs / cafe's.
We need people to make food
hey ! don't slander us vegans !😂 hahaha the "uhhh" did make me lol though🤣
I eat vegetables too
I'm a qualified electrician and a electrical NVQ assessor, this could be an option.
Do it Stuart. Always need sparkies
No chance for truck drivers... unfortunately! Would have to change my role here in the UK for an "skilled" one so I have more chances to move to Australia.
Sorry to hear that Danny
@@ThatJohnstonLife its all good my friend, thanks for videos
How's the demand of MBA graduate??
Topic starts @1.40...
What about pharmacist?
I don't make the list Bruno
@@ThatJohnstonLife okay, thanks
Yes there may be lots of jobs, but people over seas need to stop coming here there are basically no rentals with 500+ people applying per house in the bigger city’s - we need to worry about the aussies before people coming over here, people like you encouraging people to come here for a “better life” but seem to always fail to mention that the rental crisis here is crazy. We don’t need anymore immigrants atm we are already struggling to house our aussies
agreed. I hear within the next 2 yrs 100 thousand or so immigrants are gonna come over for uni, better life, tourism etc. I'm in my early 20s and I've got a job, dont like it tbh and the work is gonna run out soon. I'm still tryna figure out whats a good job down 40 or so yrs down the track. I'm quiet, Im hardworking, im good with my hands, aint really good with maths tho
You didn't mention my pick for top job , the bloke or Sheila who rings you up to tell you you've won the lottery .but then if you move here you've already won the lottery .
Awesome job
undertakers, crematoriums, & hearse drivers.
Always going to be those jobs
No no jobs here bye

@@ThatJohnstonLife??? It's moving but in a negative and unconvincing way.
What buget you need for I family off 4 to move in Perth for example
As much as you can afford. If it's what you want, and can get a visa, sell up and try your best
