Hello everyone! Please see a correction pointed at 2:16 where the Golden ratio was confused for the rule of thirds. You can read about the Golden ratio here: www.britannica.com/science/golden-ratio and the Rule of Thirds here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds I am very excited to share part 1 of our series on the Classic Aesthetic in today's video. Today we will be introducing how the beauty seen in classical design can be introduced within your own home. I would love to know which of these wall treatments you have in your own home or would love to have! xx
I am so glad you loved this classic style as much as I do! Hopefully the image sources at the bottom of the images provide further inspiration for you xx
You were not alone!! It took me an hour at least to watch the entire video and I enjoyed every second!! I have at least 30 screenshots ❤ I would give this a thousand thumbs up if I could! Cannot wait for Part 2! Great minds think alike☺️
Suzie you have an amazing talent …love this Quintessential channel… keep the elegance and class going in this channel.love from sunny Florida USA ☀️❤️❤️
The beauty Is in the detail, without a doubt! There's nothing like Old-world charm. Yes, to be surrounded by beauty, makes for pleasing thee eye, warming the heart! Wall mural and ceilings, all take it to another level 🙌 including arches and columns. Thank you for sharing, my lovely friend ❤ Appreciated
Hello Gina, so glad you appreciate these classic elements. Thanks for taking the time to watch our latest video. Have you made a full recovery? Hope you are feeling well. S xx
I’m new to this channel and just subscribed, as I love what I’m seeing. I’m using your Traditional style videos as a refresher course, since I learnt all of this over 30 years ago. My now ex-husband and I worked for years decorating our center hall brick Georgian/colonial home (in Virginia), adding all sorts of moulding (crown, chair rail, dadoes, coffered ceilings, medallions) whenever they were called for, paint treatments, carefully selected wallpapers, flooring, etc., always following the Traditional aesthetic and the style of the house. We managed to finish 10 rooms out of 15 before the marriage ended, unfortunately (for the house, not the soured relationship). I’m now in my early 60s, faced with moving to a much smaller, cookie-cutter type of home and dreading what I might find. With decreased health, energy, finances and in high inflation times I will not be able to make all the changes I’d like, but will do my best to decorate my future home as traditionaly as possible (I favor the English country style with a touch of Parisian now) to make it pleasing to my eyes and taste. Thanks so much for this lovely channel.
Thank you for subscribing :) Wow, sounds like you have a lot of experience in the world of interiors and traditional design and architecture. I do hope that the smaller home still offers you inspiration and opportunities to express your passion for interiors even in small ways xx
Wow.. your amazing.. thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge✨🙏✨…. It’s a magical experience watching your work ..( videos) you must have been blessed with huge amounts of energy 😀🍃🍃🍃✨🌷✨🍃🍃🍃
So glad you enjoy the videos Charmaine. Yes, anyone who knows me well understands that my energy levels are pretty high!! I need to channel them somewhere! I appreciate your support of our Channel and for your feedback. Suzie xx
I surround myself around beauty every day including self care. I think this theory ... includes inside your home too... beauty in inside and out....❤ .
Greetings from Santa Fe, New Mexico! Simply adore Classical design. Two of my favorites, an architect and a designer, are John Saladino and Charlotte Moss. This is a beautiful segment!
Absolutely love your home design videos. The music is also perfectly fit for them. You are one of a kind these days helping people to put into their interiors furnishing that will last instead of the constant keeping up with trends. Your voice is very calming. Keep up the beautiful ideas please!
Suzie I absolutely love your channel. I am a self taught decorator . I have piles of decor books and magazines that I love flipping through, it gives me so much joy. Beautiful images in this video, thank you so much
Hi Suzie, hope you are enjoying a well deserved weekend! Your premier yesterday was fun and participating was something new for me. My typing speed needs work though! Could you please tell me again (only if you get a chance) the two muralists you like, I’d love to look them up? Now I get to watch this beautiful video again at a slower pace taking some screenshots along the way like your other viewers are doing. What a great idea! I am looking forward to it, your videos always inspire me❣️✨👩🎨👏
Hi Suzie! The premier was so good as well as parts 2 and 3. Thank you so much for kindly getting back to me on Pascal Amblard; Wow, what an artist! 👏🎨 It was great hearing from you. ☺️💝✨
Dearest Suzie, once again I adore your series and enjoying them a great deal. Could you make an episode on how to arrange (decorative) pillows and designs on beds? If you already made this i apologize as I could not find it in your listings. Big Hug from Amsterdam, Holland, Please do visit us if you have the change. 🌷✨
Hello Gee MeeL, thank you for your comment. So glad to read you are enjoying the classic series. While we don't have a video specific to layering decorative pillows on beds, you may enjoy these two videos: ruclips.net/video/uLApKhn1V-c/видео.html ruclips.net/video/pdVMTARvIxk/видео.html
I enjoy your videos, and usually your information is absolutely correct. But the golden ratio (also called the golden section) is not the same as the rule of thirds. The proportions in the golden ratio are 1 to 1.618, and the proportions in the rule of thirds are 1 to 1 to 1. Visually, there is a big difference. The Fibonacci series results in the 1 to 1.618 ratio. Read Gyorgy Doczi's The Power of Limits; Proportional Harmonies in Nature, Art and Architecture for a great explanation of proportions.
