This is a very useful video. I've been looking for clarifications on this topic on parts and chordal harmony. Thank you sir.

Of all the RUclips lesson about parts, yours is the best in terms of explanation. Other foreign videos are just there to waste your MB. More grace brother!

This has really helped me out... I tried the concept in many songs... This doesn't substitute you also listening to score the parts of a song as there maybe some little alterations... Like boss said "be open-minded".. Now my question, any time there is switching of parts, must Alto take soprano and Tenor takes Alto, and now soprano takes high tenor like what you demonstrated when the melody is on "t"??? Thanks

Also, I think the progression of the song will also determine the chords to form with a note. Thanks

Yes we call it inversion and it always goes higher from best practices
      So tenor goes to alto
      Alto to soprano
      Soprano to Tenor
You hear some Directors say take it higher they are actually inverting but it goes up so a Call "take it up/higher" still goes but it's actually a switch to an higher inversion

You just taught this stuff as if the people you are teaching knows it already... "So this is how to share parts..." You will bear witness with me... Make us understand before bearing you witness please.
