Oh my god! Here comes this precocious young man, who is young and intelligent, and boom, all my illusions of youth for you and me were shattered . . . and that's OK. Thank goodness for industrious youngsters like Jack Mintz I hope he is able to cherish this iconic Mustang until he's our age or even older. Then, In 2075, the car will be 110 years old, and we will be . . . gone. Thanks Jack and Jay.
Great to see a kid into cars. Mustangs had an iconic cultural impact, hitting the market with a force you don't see anymore. Cool car!
i cant even imagine how nervous he must be
He did great. I would be fumbling my words if with Leno or being recorded. Both at the same time I would be catatonic.

Damn I’d be nervous!
I was supposed, I would have been so nervous !
And watching Jay driving away in his baby🥲
This is why I love Jay. This made this kids year, and not to mention he’s got a beautiful car. Well done! 👍🏻
Jay’s own teen reflection was really fantastic! I loved how much understanding and appreciation he had for Jack. Two great guys in this video!
Agreed
Jay, One of the BEST episodes you’ve ever done. Great to see you recognizing young kids like Jack. Cars bring people together from all walks of life. Jack will remember the time you spent with him forever. Well done !!
A teenager who can string a sentence together is a wonderful thing!
Didn’t see him check his phone once.
AND look at a grown up while speaking?
G.T. 350 was a nice touch
as Jay pulled away.
Totally..I kinda got goosebumps hearing that GT say, "hey little guy..welcome to the house!"
an incredibly mature and thoughtful young man! Well done!
Jack did great on the show!
Jay Leno is a true Legend
May be the best episode ..the future of classic cars looks promising, and Jay is masterful in his support of this young man
Gosh. I remember 30 years ago when I turned 16....and I’m sure others can go even further of course, but there’s so much life ahead, and my point in all this is for some reason after watching this I just want this young man to have a good one, may the days come easy for him on down the road...
I wish him the same and you a long healthy life.
Problem is 'Spanner Addiction' is lifelong with no known cure.
Kudos to you, Jay for giving young Mr. Mintz and his exceptionally nice 56 year-old Mustang this moment in the Sun and best wishes for Mr. Mintz's future.
I will bet young Mintz's dad is so pleased to see his son with Jay and watch how great his demeanor is with Jay. Also, I note this young man is not starting out going the muscle way, rather a simple solution for his first car while still in school. I am more impressed (as a father) with this young man than his first vehicle. Jay deserves some serious kudos for "balancing" his program via presentations such as this!
Jay always treats people with the utmost respect no matter what!
As long as you're wearing socks. :P
Yes!
Ditto to all the positive comments...Jay responded to this young enthusiast in the same way he does to every other car nut... good stuff!
This is a very humbling experience for that young man, to get a chance to meet Jay Leno at his garage and have him talk about your car, it doesn’t get any better than that.
Jack says to Jay: “Since you drove my car, I wanna drive one of yours. Like that F-1 parked over there”.
I was thinking that shelby 350 they showed as he was leaving
I wouldn't touch the F-1...I'd grab the Galaxie 500! Love that car.
Yeah because I wanted my parents to buy me a McLaren but they bought me this crappy Mustang instead 🤣
I'd love to drive his Firebird Sprint.
He better ask his lawyer father if that's even a good idea
What a nice young man. Well done Jack! You have a lot to be proud of.
„Were you worried, when I was driving it? Well, no… actually yes, I was!” 🙃 That’s my boy! Great episode, seeing our own passion in the youngest ones. Thanks, Jay!
hahahah
So important to encourage the young. Nice job Jay from Australia!
Yess!
Jack and Jay did a great job on this. Makes me happy seeing Jay talk to a young man interested in a great car. Thanks Mr.Leno.
From one Jack to another, GREAT JOB!!! Young man starting off on the right foot!!!
The value of the car just jumped by $2K
Maybe more just cuz of jay
@@enz0368 yea, that’s my point
@@artagain8977 add COVID tax and inflation, good sellers market. Made a few bucks on my truck
If he's smart he'll get Jay to sign it.
Would have been nice if Jack had gone along for the ride.
I can't imagine doing what he did at 14 years old. Amazing.
congradulations jack you picked a great car to get into the hobby with.....enjoy it...
What a great young man. Super that Jay had him on this show, made my day.
This one of the best video's on this channel!! It shows that Jay is such a great guy. This (great) kid is never gonna forget this! Well done Jay & Jack 👏👏👏👏
Great to see you talking with Jack with respect as an equal. Jay, you're such a gentleman.
Agreed!
Jay Leno may very well be the nicest guy on earth! Them two were kicking the can down the road together like old pals who had known each other there whole lives!
This young man has an awesome future ahead of him. His parents must be very proud of him.
Agreed!
Props to Jack for leaving the six in it. Great job and you'll have many more years to work on and enjoy your Mustang!
I like this kind of kids, everybody now is on their ipad and computers playing games. Nice to see young kids like old classic cars. 👍🏻
HP on the 200 cubic inch was 120. Had a '66 in '68. Great car. Great memories.
What a great young guy. And props to Jay for including everyone on the show.
Agreed!
Leno is a Legend, National Hero, & True Comedian; All around great guy
I remember an old HOT ROD magazine cover that said "6 in a row will go" and it always amazed me what you can do with a 6 or a 4 cylinder to make it feel good. Great car for this young man.
Congrats to Jack...and the Grandparents! I loved my '65 Six! LOVED IT! Jay having Jack on is the whole reason why Jay is such a Legend & the REAL car-guy deal! This is my new favorite episode!
So cool! Seeing this young guy fix up an old Mustang. Kudo's to both of you. Jack for going this route and Jay for showing us this young man and his car. 👍
I love the innocence and reserved nature of this young man. The shirt was a prefect choice on his part, living the California life! I would like more videos like this one.
this episode really made me smile. I was so young when I would talk non-stop about classic cars, mind you Dad was a car guy. I remember getting excited seeing a 66 Fairlane dead and rusty in a field near my school, dreamed about that being a project! years later have had quite a few classics. So much better as a kid to be interested in cars and spending your money that way then just sitting on the couch playing mindcraft all day long.
He’s looking up and thinking, “I can’t believe that Jay Leno is driving my car.” He only knows Jay as America’s Car curator.
No. He's looking up thinking, oh I've just given my baby to some old man! Will she be safe :-)
This kid is like straight out of the Goonies. Reminds me of how every 80s kid was portrayed in movies growing up. Love it!
I think that’s what made him so endearing to me watching this....I saw a little of myself in his mannerisms talking with Jay. Just a wonderful little video.
yea I thought it was a rerun.
Yeah you should have seen his hair before he cut it. Totally out of the goonies
He definitely seems like he’s from another generation... can tell the parents raised him right.
I love seeing a young fella like this. It's guys like him that will keep our hobby going after we are long gone.
Thank you mr. Leno for inviting this great young classic car lover.
Jack is a great young man with a sense of purpose and I’m convinced will head towards a great career in the automotive industry. Whilst ultimately that may be with hybrid, electric or hydrogen powered vehicles it will be an extremely worthwhile career and he deserves it. Congratulations Jack you’ve made an excellent start and I really hope you achieve and meet your expectations. I’m also sure Mum and Dad will enjoy watching your progress good luck.
I was grinning the whole time through this episode. That was great. Just 2 guys hangin' out
Best episode in a long time. You're awesome, Jack!
Jay, you just made a difference in that kids life!
Jack, you are great. What a great job with your Mustang. Enjoy every mile.
The young man has his head on straight, Wish him well in the pursuit of automotive career.
which will be electric...
agreed
LOVE this video. Best JLG segment in a while. What a great kid. So awesome of Jay to put his money where his mouth is about actually giving to the next generation
Bravo Jack and cheers to Jay for being a good guy for recognizing the young guy. Totally loved this episode.
Yes!
This was cool. You the man Jay! The look on that kids face when you drove off was priceless! I wonder if he’s trying to find the keys to that GT 350 right right now! Haaa love it
This is some awesome stuff! It just warms my heart to see young people taking interest in vintage classic cars and other collectibles. We need more of this. After all, who's going to take possession of all of our old collectibles when we check out? Jack has a great future ahead of him.
I met Jay, twice in 1999 within 45 minutes of each other. First at his studio and then at Carl's JR soon after. Pretty sure he was wearing that same shirt and the car he was driving was in the background of this video. I made a terrible joke at Carl's. He was and remains a class act. You LA car guys know what a cool guy Jay is. I appreciate the vids.
I ran into him twice at Pebble Beach. He is as nice a person as you would ever wish to meet.
