    Such an exotic home, worthy of this beautiful turtle. Her colors and markings are adorable, especially the flirty flipped-up hemline of her shell. Does she have a name? I'd call her Poppy. 🧡 Thanks for sharing her arrival with us.

    That enclosure is unbelievably beautiful! What a lucky little turtle, who's own beauty will fit right in. Do you actually have the lights and sound programmed to recreate thunderstorms in there, or was that just for the sake of this video? If you do, how incredible is that?!

      Haha thank you! My wife does all the editing and she created that scene on her own. The lighting does make “lightening” strikes though. Pretty cool.

    She is a beautiful turtle, and a truly gorgeous vivarium for her to live in until she grows too big. It would be nice to see a tree frog or two in there, just to populate the cork wall a bit more. I’m not sure how she would co-habit with a larger salamander, but frogs would be a nice touch. Thanks for sharing the wonder.🖤🇨🇦

    You seriously make the best enclosures ever! The animals are lucky to have you guys.
    Side note : I laughed at the mega cheesy early 90s school program/infomercial background music, it sounds like something you would hear in a D.A.R.E or drivers Ed video 😂

    I think she should share it with some bright and/ or milky forest frogs .... that would definitely thrive in a tropical rainforest! and they could stay there after she out grows it.

      Thanks! Bioactive setups really do not need any upkeep. Aside from trimming the plants and making sure the water level stays sufficient enough for the pump to function is about it.

    I used to keep Centeal American Ornate Woods, R. Phulcerima. Most destructive turtle ever, they poop like cows as soon you clean the water area, flip everything up side down and crush/eat any plant. I gave up and sold them😂

    Hi Garden State! I love your content so much and I have a question I have been thinking about. Do all turtle species lay eggs without actually mating and most of all I'd love to know if box turtle females will lay eggs without a mate?

      Thanks. There isn’t any because it’s bioactive. No cleaning, just trimming plants back down the line as they grow.

    I have a question i saw your website about all testudo graeca species but I didn't find any info on how to distinguish each subspecie even though there are pics of each subspecie is really hard to tell.       Thanks for watching. No, especially since this species is primarily carnivorous but also eats fruits. We’ve used fake plants for 30 years now.
