  • What is the significance of “three days” in the OT? How does Luke use Sabbath terminology to describe the transition that takes place with the resurrection? Two men (Moses and Elijah) appear at the Transfiguration and two men (angels) appear at the Resurrection-what’s the connection? What Greek word suggests the apostles dismissed the women’s report as “utter nonsense”? What were the first-century Jewish burial customs? In this week’s video on “Reading the Gospels through Hebrew Eyes,” Chad Bird takes us through Luke 24:1-12.

The end of ur teaching reminds me of the events happening in the USA right now!!
Everything’s looking bad but in the last hours Jesus comes in and turns it all around! The hour glass shifts!!
Thanks again for sharing your teachings!

What a glorious God to give the promise of the sure and certain hope of everlasting life to those of us who are baptized in His name. It brings comfort to me since losing my son that he is with God. Prayers for you and your family and God’s peace be with you as we celebrate together. Sam

Dear Chad, thanks again for this wonderful ministry of the Word. I deeply appreciate your approach with these videos, grounding the New Testament in the Old. It's as though you highlight the way the picture frame 'holds' and yet 'enhances' the image that we are to focus upon (Christ). (Perhaps that's not the best analogy, but hopefully you get what I mean!) Blessings from Oz.

Hi Chad, just discovered and read your book The Christ Key and loved it! I’m curious if you’re familiar with the work of Jonathan and Matthieu Pageau. Particularly I’m curious if you’ve read or heard of Matthieu’s 2018 book the Language of Creation?

Hi Vic. I just looked up the book and read a short review. Looks fascinating! I’m adding it to my short list of to-read books. Thank you for the suggestion!

Hey brother Chad! Thank you so much for all of your hard work and research into the OT and viewing the NT through its lense. I have been doing a series in my church (I am a missionary in Costa Rica and we have church each week on the beach - you should come down some time!) for the past year of Love In The Red Letters. I have used so much of your material. I am going to move on to the Acts and follow through the NT. Do you have any mateirial in those areas? For real though I would love to have you come down whenever you want and I'll put you up at our Minstry Center.

You’re very welcome! I’m happy to hear the videos have been so helpful. I don’t have any videos on Acts or other NT books. I’ve just focused on the Gospels. I would love to visit more a possible trip! Just drop some info at this site and we’ll go from there. Thanks! www.1517.org/request-speaker

The HRM people say Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday and arose on Saturday the Sabbath. How do you explain the "3 Days" being Friday, Saturday, Sunday? I have heard the Jewish day started at Sun down to Sun rise, so that would be "3"days. Because he was crucified and died at sundown, Friday, One day, Saturday two days, and Sunday morning would be the 3rd day... so the 3rd begins at sundown on Saturday, right?? Then Sunday morning would be 3 days??

@@chadbird1517 Thanks. this helped me better understand the whole (minor for me) issue surrounding which day Jesus died and which day Jesus rose. It's never disturbed my faith, but it's still nice to have it solved. :-)

This is why you shouldn’t believe everything some says according to the Scriptures. He starts off by saying “This is Luke’s account”. This statement is so far from the Truth. Luke wasn’t an Apostle. He was a Scribe!! His account was a Third party account. He received everything he wrote from those who were with Christ from the beginning of his Ministry, to his Death, and then his resurrection.. The Eleven Apostles. Waaaay after Christ’s resurrection. And he was giving this account to Theophilis!! A Gentile. Both of his letters (Luke and Acts) are to Theophilis. He tells you clearly that he wasn’t a eyewitness!!

Give us more account, to the words
Of Christ, my friend. You, as many say nay, but fail to give us the true teaching. Ive walked this path as well, to only say "nay" is not enough and has a foolish flavor

I don’t understand your question? You do read the scriptures right? Everything has always been there in Plain Sight. The problem is, is that we have accepted or put our Trust in those we believe are Faithful Teachers or Ministers of the Word. The have been handed down lies. And they continue to pass forward those lies to the next generation. Why do you think the the so called teachers of the Laws were unable to Hear Christ? Where did they get their Philosophies from? It definitely wasn’t from the Laws of Moses🤔 or the Prophets. How many different Sects were back then going against Christ? Look at Nicodemus and Paul/Saul. What Sect were they a part of? Christ said you must be Born again to see the Kingdom of God. If you are still believing the lies, how have you been born again? Go back and read again… with New Eyes, Heart, and Mind. If you truly want to be Free. Accept what is Truth. No matter how hard it is. Everything in context. Who, what, when, where, and Why. Who is the writer writing to? What is he conveying in his letter? And what were the results.. You take care!

I don't understand your problem. Of course the account attributed to Luke is his account. It says so right there in the opening chapter. Of course it was dedicated to Theophilus. It says so right there in the opening chapter. It's also clear that he is writing an historical account based on information gathered from others. He never claims firsthand knowledge. And in Acts it's clear that most of what he writes prior to joining Paul is not firsthand, but what he was told (most likely by Paul). After he joins Paul, it is mostly firsthand/experiential knowledge.
