Somebody did what I did and fitted a Gen1 interior 😄 a cow of a job, but the seats are much better. You can trick the turbo to come in earlier on these and they are nuts 😄

Different manufacturers of the engines - and sometimes different engines. The Diesel ones are mostly for EU. I am not sure if the car had a different basis or if it was the same.
Have you heard 1.9SDI when its cold? That is a tractor, and it drives as slow as one. This is normal turbo diesel engine with minimum isolation. The car was made for petrol engines so the diesel engine block isnt mounted on a diesel support in the chasis but on petrol one. Same issue with every car designed in the US. It was prepared here and they just put VW or Mercedes engines inside
