When I was little, this song made my mom cry because I am her youngest. She used to hold me in her lap when it came on and would sing/ hum along with it. So, now I'm 22, and I haven't heard this song since I was a child, and I'm sobbing.

Dumbo is my favorite Disney movie. The original made my cry when I first watched as a kid. The new one... well I was in public. I teared up. I loved how they added to the original. I felt like a kid again

Ms. Hollens, you should consider more Disney lullabies - your voice would suit them perfectly. The lullaby from Lady and the Tramp, as well as "This is the Night", "Love Goes On" from Robin Hood, "Just a Whisper Away" and "Go to Sleep" from Babes in Toyland...there must be several others, and whether as individual songs or as a medley you could do such beautiful work!
I remember when I was really little, because I struggled to cope with everything because of my autism, because we both loved the song from Dumbo, my mum used to play Bette Midler’s version of it for me to calm me down. Nowadays, everytime I hear the song, I cry.

Watching this while I am holding my 4 month old son in my arm and it just makes the song feel that much more special and also makes me appreciate the fact that I am able to hold him this close to me after nearly losing him

I absolutely love this song. Back before I had my oldest child (who’s now 22), we had a cd called Country Sings Disney and I fell in love with Alison Krause’s version of this song. I KNEW I had to learn it to sing to my baby. So I did and it became the first in a tradition I have with each of my five kids, giving them their own “baby song”. A song that is a special thing between them and me. 💕
