I wish I had known about The Cherry Poppin Daddies when they played this but I didn't hear them until 2001 . Very cool to have the cd in the car on the way to Washington Dc to hear a friend read at the Library of Congress
Friggin amazing! Saw them live in Brisbane a number of years ago, met them at their pre-show meet and greet, nicest bunch of dudes. They signed my Zoot Suit Riot album and my high school sheet music of the trumpet part for Zoot Suit Riot. Awesome conversation with Dana about that too! 💖
I've been watching them sicee santa rosa, fed them spaghetti when they played Alligator Lounge in LA.. And shopped to DreamWorks... but old management thought I was trying to make money... I still have cassette... Still love, and have always thought Steve could write musical theater... if Sara Bareilles ca from Eeicha...
You are not kidding! They were and are classic... legend...beyond fantastic. I saw them upwards of 100 times in Portland, Eugene, Seattle in the 90's and beyond. The best shows EVER and mosh pits to rival most punk bands !
Given how short the swing revival was, I think most bands were lucky to have even one hit... but those who like a band like this, who did more than just Swing... carried on in the underground where they rose from anyways.
That bass line is phenomenal!!!!
This was a small period in the mid to late 90s which brought back swing dancing.
Dan Schmid one of the best bass players not recognized
They played that song damn good.
Ol boy on the bass is abso-damn-loutely pickin it up and puttin it down.
That was the bomb! 🤯💣
I would pay dumb money to see them do a cover of stray cat strut

I remember doing a swing dance to this in high school and it was one of the coolest songs I've ever danced to!

Fantastic. More please!
Brilliant performance!
It's too bad that this would 100% be Cancelled today if for no other reason than the band's name.
That's probably why they changed their names to just 'The Daddies', now.
Love seein the people dance
Daddies rule!
That energy!!!
Fucking bad ass
I’ve plays at the House of Blues before. Not my favorite venue but I liked it

These dudes are fuckin righteous. This band is so edgy and they don't even use death chords but there still metal moshing the jitterbug

They’re the band from swingers

Too fast.
Wh-why is the House of Blues sign a butt plug?
Wow. The lead singer cannot dance. Whoa. Love the song though. 👍🏻
What's wrong with him? He seems to be trying to sporadically move around the stage on purpose.
He's actually superb at swing dancing
Swing dance is different than what your used too
Poop chute riot, I'd say
Should have seen them before the makeover.......
