It will never end. Konami has to sell their sets to profit. If the cards are mid there's no reason to buy the set obviously.
Yes because why would people want sets with bad cards? Also mulcharmy's aren't as powerful as toxic as maxx c since they have limits and specifications making you take up space for them. Just wait till the deckbuilding set to complain

@@cuttlefish6839 the main reason maxx-c is "broken" or "toxic" is the fact that even if you go first, establish your board and then pass, you can still maxx-c your opponent on their turn and remove the little ray of hope they had in breaking your board and building theirs. Mulcharmies dont work like that they are purely going second cards and "going second" in this game needs to be buffed. it's not by chance that 99% of decks want to go first.
@@epiccombotime No, the MAIN reason maxx c ruins the game is because when your opponent uses the card and you don't have a way to stop it, the game ends there. Fuwaross effectively does the same thing even if you can't use it going 1st.
The logical solution is to have multiple formats.
Right now Yu-Gi-Oh is an eternal format. If you had a format that ran on the cards printed within the last year only it'd help balance the game.

Bro you’re so right I hear yugitubers saying decks are back because you need “so much engine” when it’s like 15-20 cards.. people think it’s bad if they can’t put 35 hand traps and board breakers in their decks
Another card worth mentioning is The Fiend of the White Forest. It gives WF a Hot Red and is another spell card you can search that resets itself
Crazy how nothing in this set matters except Fiendsmith cards, new Sinful Spoils cards, and Fuwaross

There's always the choice to just not follow the meta trend and try to cook with some rouge? Like people dooming over a deck not being tier 1 is so funny to me. Just play what you think is fun

Other notable cards: (1) Dominus Impulse: a great handtrap that negates effects that special summon, which will very likely see play. Also (2) Seventh Tachyon which will be a must have if you want to play Ryzeal in December [edit Seventh Tachyon is in the legendary duelist set. Disregard that]
Seventh tachyon was in the light duelist pack, not ROTA. They might import it in the set tho...

You don't "must have" Tachyon, all it does is add redundancy to your extra deck.
The deck itself is more than consistent enough with 9x 1 card combo and 3 Bonfire.
The activation of fuwaross while going first works very well in tempai. You can pass on seals, field spell and quick play and you can activate seals to bounce field spell and chain quick play to summon genroku so you have a window where nothing is on the field and you can activate fuwaross, while still summoning koaki meiru drago and tag out with genroku

Lore-wise, WF feels so much like Dogmatika, and then Azamina is the corrupted version (AKA Despian). This time Albaz is Diabellstar, who is being hounded by Aluber (Diabellze) as she seeks power and allies (Sinful Spoils / Snake-Eye AKA Swordsoul) to deal with it. Also, if you didn't know, look up the card storylines and "Valuable Book EX 4," which is the 2024 release of storylines. The next book should come next year, but they all need to be translated.
The most annoying thing about the current format is that yeah, Snake-Eyes got hit and isn't the uncontested best deck anymore, but you can't even breathe a sigh of relief because it's gonna go back to being tier 0 in less than one month.
Yeah the Azamina cards are going to completely break Snake-eye again. In OCG, only Tenpai has a small chance against it. Everything else gets crushed to oblivion.
Crazy thing is that with Fiendsmiths' token generator being a 1 card combo because of Necroquip and Lurie turning Tract into a 1 card combo post Rage of The Abyss we'll have 13 1 card combos. The main engine is only 13 cards. The deck has space for a 4 card Azamina engine and a 5 card Yubel engine and still has room for 18 non-engine in a 40 card deck.

I have been testing snake eyes azamina fiendsmith for months now and boy let me tell you…. The final iteration beats any combination of 3 hantraps and or/ board breakers. The only combination that can stop it is excatly droll imperm nib.
Snake-eye Fiendsmith Azamina is going to destroy everything in his path. We'll go back to tier 0 soon. :/ Look at the OCG, only Tenpai has a small chance to compete against it.
They won't bring older archetypes up to speed, but they'll print ever increasingly more broken and efficient new cards.
Wish they'd pause the power creep on new cards until EVERY other quasi-playable archetype is caught up. They don't need to support entirely unplayable themes like Iron Chain that have like 2 or 3 cards, but anything that is functional at a casual level doesn't deserve for the gap between them and new cards to keep widening.
Tribute diviner of the herald for the azimina continues spell could be something. Probably in voiceless/drytron, but diviner can also summon the purrelys. Idk just brainstorming
I'd say that with Lacrima theres definitely enough cards to make a pure Fiendsmith deck although I don't think people will stop at that because with Azamina being such a strong that can be as small as 4 cards theres almost no universe but the brokey verse that people aren't going to play it. You use Deception as material for Mu, shuffle Deception back off of Sacred Azamina to get it back Mu at some points gets another Deception to send as cost for Rhea, and Mu is half of probably the materials for a link 2 or 3 or a xyz monster.
Going to test the Modern waters with Primoredials. Not sure of combining it with Blue-eyes will need to consult my friends on that one.

I'm pretty optimistic about Fuwaross because its more of going 2nd tool to balance thing out between the massive draw going first and another thing I think Konami did right is because it only hits special summons from deck and extra deck the only decks that give people who activate Fuwaross more than 3-5 cards is combo decks. When people draw 6-12 cards off of Fuwaross its almost guaranteed that you'll draw the out outs to Snake-Eyes, Tearlament, and Dark World BS.

@@gamingsuperun That'll probably be a $1,000 3 of like Maxx C use to be especially if they short print it. It won't really affect me though because I play online where I have all the oldest and newest Yu-Gi-Oh cards for free. The website I play on has ranked matches where I can show off my insane skills masterfully destroying meta with rogue decks and showing I destroy people with tier 1 decks. So I don't really feel bad that I've never been in a tournament or that I can't afford expensive cards.

Shark is a solid Option tho. 15-18 Non-Engine, good 1-2 Card Combos, plays under shifter decent. Without an non-engine out Tenpai having hard time with Kragen. Inshallah the Seventh Tachyon will be imported, then we are gaming me boi. Oh and Impulse is good in this Deck to, cause all Water and you can skip the F0 Board if you want

Hot take i genuinely don’t think the Azamina cards are gonna push snake up THAT much.
The OCG still has Beatrice, Apo, Lacrima and 3 poplar; every one of those hits is pretty substantial.
All it does is replace the Desirae or Arvata for an Omni which is better but not enough to make it tier 0 like some of y’all fear imo.
It also adds more starters, more extenders, WAY more recursion , a time win condition that replaces lacrima , and more insulation from handtraps.

Yugioh is such a yawn right now because of power creeping.
How to prepare? You don’t. Spend your money on real life experiences, go outside, workout/get physically healthier or go on a holiday. This game is short term gratification. Your over 18 and can’t drive? Learn how to drive - don’t need to buy a car yet just get your license. Never been on a holiday? Go on a trip. Every 3 months there is something new that takes casuals like me out of the game because we don’t to spend over $40 for a piece of cardboard. I’ve had enough of the game. I follow PAK because I admire his knowledge of the game. I will follow as a fan but as a ‘Duelists’ I will stick with what I have. My money can go to better things that will actually act as an ‘investment’. Cardboard is not an investment- it’s only a reason that we players use to convince ourselves that we aren’t wasting money. Hell the tins are dogshit.

The state of the game has been worse countless times, this power creep is just the way they go with things. Yugioh at a high level had always gotten increasingly more absurd and this is only going to get crazier. We could very easily slip into a "1 card combo under shifter while running shifter and delete spells from the game" format if enough people played it to mirror match with it in top cut of tournament. It's just way easier to mirror match the most popular deck because decision making isn't directly rewarded in 10 card engine mirrors that ftk you. And you know what? Nothing wrong with that, there are still ways to play. Let things get worse, you need that to know what does and doesn't work. To be good you need to study the current format you're gonna play the week you're gonna play it. If your collection can't handle it then try something new. That's just the cycle of things. Right now in TCG it's really not that bad for rogue and Tier 2ish decks but there are gonna be matchups you dead lose to die rolls or they just resolve figurative pot of greed more than you and you go blow for blow til you die. I'm interested to see which lesser represented decks "make the cut" to be worth playing after the meta inflates some more. It's hard to tell how big the staple meta shift is gonna be, even looking at OCG, it's not gonna have the same impact there as it will here. It heavily reminds me of when Maxx C came out for the first time because of the mystery of what "good" even means after everyone has it. Sorry for the ramble I do that a lot but hey whatever peace out dudes.
