THANK YOU!! I have been trying to figure this issue out for 2 years. I bought an after market CDI box but it did not fit the newer models. It was made for the old style CDI box. I returned it and thought I was just stuck with a slow 4-wheeler. I just went and removed that bracket .... took about 10 mins. and She definitely goes faster now!! My son is excited to ride again!
Check your throttle stop on handle bars. Ours was cranked down and prevented our 4 wheeler from revving up . Turn screw way back off ccw and press throttle all the way. Then screw the screw back in cw until you feel it stop the throttle. Then tighten the locking nut. Ours was way faster after that.

My Yamaha dealer pulled the limiter off... they said the quad will barely move with the limiter on.
Hell yeah! You rock man!!! I’m gonna do this to my sons new one! Well new to him but a 2006 model.

Just losing the nut on the screw that's attached to the throttle and screw the screw in. You can adjust it in or out for more or less throttle.
Take the rev imiter off and it goes 8 mph
