2:44 the stig went that curve pedal to the metal, with some serious super cars.
from that angle that is super scary.
stig made this track look super easy. ive found out the hard way there is very little room for error when i downloaded it for assetto haha
thought i would be good at it cuz ive watched stig drive round it so many times, track humbled me so hard

Awesome. My local track has days you can go out and lap a section of the track in your car. Very addicting.
Just want to say congratulations...If I were a sim racer and i got the experience to drive a real race car, man id love it...Im so happy for you Steve, I cant do nothing but to hope you get more experiences like this and in better cars!
I can relate to that - only in that I had a track experience day at Dunsfold with Jaguar back in 2013 When the F-Type was first released. V8S first (Feck! Its quick (compared to my then 2009 XFS Diesel)) - then the V6S (Epic exhaust sound) - (both soft-tops, Coupe was released the next year). Pro-driver sat alongside you giving really good instruction. They were only road cars with normal road tyres - but for us mere mortals - is was a blast. Only thing was we were in a train going clockwise (no follow through) - so if you wanted a fast lap, you had to let the slower driver in front get ahead a good bit. Tried that - but the driver in front of me was far too slow in the bends and on the brakes. Pro driver kept me out for one final hot lap myself - oh boy what a hoot. Made the most of it, not like you do that everyday.
Then we got into a XKRS with a Pro-driver behind the wheel. Now that was motoring!!! Lot of sideways action, but hey - this isn't everyday driving.
How much did I enjoy the car? I'm now driving a X260 XFS with 380 ponies under the bonnet. Wish it was the 500+ Ponies XFR, but not until BMW start fitting them to the X260. F-Type too small for what I need. I need that ability to have a blast on a quiet road, but have the practicality of an everyday car.
To be in a GT4 car with slicks on - I'm betting that was another level again.

You should have really gotten on those bakes. They are insane. Edit: I see that you mentioned it afterwards in the video. I had the same experience my first time on track. After the instructors drove our cars, we realized exactly how much of scrubs we were and could have really braked much later. None of us were really pushing the limits of our cars, while the instructors basically drove at or over the limit (sometimes). its a HUUUUUUUGE difference. Jarring.

Glad you had fun man! I had an extremely similar experience; growing up playing forza and then transitioning to project cars 2 and the first time I got behind the wheel of a touring car it just felt right, words can’t really describe it! Simulators really are the new grassroots racing in my opinion

Some say that he is the guardian angel of all the dirty racing drivers out there in Shadow Realm and before you are even awake on a thursday morning he is doing Daily Races on Gran Turismo Sport.

It surprisingly still has much of its road-going interior for something built as a race car..I thought all race cars have stripped down interiors..
GT4 are just lightly tuned into race car. Some are road going interior, some are race interior.

I don't care what all the sim elitists say about GT Sport, it's an accurate driving sim and the cars handle accurately from my experience. I carried over the game skill to real life skill on the Streets of Willow when I went there in my Evo X. The braking points, steering feel, throttle exit points are exact. The weight transfer of the stock suspension of the car and how it rolls and reacts around corners is exact. I've never ran on a track before irl and went straight to the Intermediate skill session and held up with others who had track experience. People want to hate on GTS but it carries over precisely. I have a comparison run video on my channel.

Having done dirt oval racing and some experience in Road-course racing, the hardest thing to get used to compared to everyday driving is how fast you can go through a corner and how late to brake. Even in a Honda Civic with slicks on, the amount of grip through a corner is sometimes mind-blowing. It's always a rush to drive racecar of any kind. Were you shaking after you got out?
A 911 GT3 RS is very likely to be faster than a GT4 on a straight line. Most GT cars are slower on a straight than their road going equivalent

Very cool video! Since I am currently building my own sim rig and want to adjust everything as close as possible to a real GT4/GT3 race car, i have some questions: How would you describe the feeling of the brake pedal? Was it very hard from the beginning or did it feel more progressive? How much travel did it have? And how does it compare to the brake pedal on your Fanatec CSL Elite Pedals?
How were the gforces? Could they be compared to a supercar?
