Does Nintendo have some type of proprietary shrink wrap that’s impossible to replicate? Seems like we’re putting an awful lot of faith in clear plastic here.
All grading is a scam. Multiple hands getting greased, ya know, except for yours, when the bubble pops and your $5000 “graded” game is worth a tiny fraction of what you paid. Meanwhile, grading company, auction house, keep all their profits. Every single market from the dawn of time has eventually corrected itself. What happens when all the collectors realize that the only people buying these games are other collectors hoping to profit from a sale at a later date to another collector. You’ve literally removed all of the intrinsic value from the good…. You might just as well purchase a piece of paper from the grading company lmao. When 99% of the value is derived from the fact it’s graded, you’re in trouble….
but 99% of the value isn't because of grading. if you have a mint factory sealed game that is rare and highly desired, its value is still going to be high. you have to get a grip on the reality that not everyone views a values game to only its playability, and just because you do, doesn't mean you're right.
He goes on about scamming the guy for a few of the games he owns, but if he bought them several years ago. They were most likely the going rate at the time. I bought games for $100-200 5-10 years ago and they're worth 3-5 times that now. That's just natural appreciation; not ripping off some naïve or desperate seller.
But my thing is how many people have these things graded tbh… ngl I just started buying a few CIB in 64 games but tbh I don’t think I’d ever buy anything graded… except for maybe the early Tomb Raider games On PC or Ps1. I would shell out for a few of those because it’s my favorite franchise. Yes it’s cool to learn about this but then again are these really that rare? Yeah even CIB could be considered rare because N64 boxes are very flimsy and people threw them out allot of the times.

The vast majority of people I've met in this realm are motivated by the collecting aspect more than the profit aspect. Of course, the 2 aspects do become more intertwined as the value amounts grow into the thousands, but *most* people still do their buying/selling/flipping in order to fuel the collecting. That’s crazy. I literally bought a N64 expansion pak CIB in Mint for $95. This year. I think my Wave Race was around $90 CIB too. I was kinda mad about that one cause the box is bent on the bottom so it has issues with standing up. Even in its plastic cover

Regarding the GBC, don’t they come with batteries included? I’m not sure, but wouldn’t that mean the inside of the box is potentially completely ruined?
There is definitely going to be a bit of a Schrödinger's Cat scenario playing out with some of the graded games/consoles at some point in the future. Realistically, it will truly never be opened, so we can never confirm the insides, so does it matter? It's honestly kind of weird to consider haha.
@@GetTheGreg dunno man, that acid may make its way through the box over time. I‘d personally stay away from sealed/graded systems for that reasons. For games, even with disc rot or save batteries, neither should show on the outside. So in those cases, yeah. Who cares.

I’m sure anything is possible, but I would think that as long as the box isn’t exposed to extreme heat. It would we ok
Yup. The only way it can still be graded by VGA is that they confirm all of them contents are original and completely unused state. Like, literally never used haha. We shall never know who or why someone decided to open it at some point haha.
Haha at some point! So much of my collection is scattered between: my house, storage, and my parent's house that it's hard to do it right now. Hopefully this year at some point I can try to get everything together for a video!
This just proofs that ppl with money can be "idiots" (not knowing what they should do with there money). They are not really into collecting. They may played the Games years ago yes, but then just bought the VGA ratings, because they have the money. If this Mizkif really bought them just to make money with it, then he can say bye bye to his "investment". Hew don't know anything about Videogames at all. ppl just follow him, because he has more attention range. It's sad, but what can you really do about it. Even if you go there and tell him or the ppl watching, that he bought open Games and lose alot of money, they blame you for "why have you to ruin his investment" like it's your fault he makes this misstake buy and not noticing it. This is also the reason why i don't follow big infulencer, especially if they just jump on a marked, they may think can make money with it. Here in germany we also have some of those "experts". i dunno if its just american boxes, but shouldnt nintendo sealed games have the red nintendo strip? what proves they havent been repackaged its not hard to do. in fact i rather see a bit of wear and tear bit of shelf damage to prove its age and legit. seeing games too mint is red flags to me.
That red Nintendo strip is a PAL only thing. And it's far harder to properly replicate a Nintendo 1st party seal than it's given credit for. On top on the seal, you'd also have to have a box that has never been opened, as you can also identify a reseal by purely observing certain aspects of the box alone. The risk of reseals and fakes always exist, of course, but with cardboard based games it's not at all easy to create one that is even half convincing to people who have years of experience with them.
Lol the only actual collector. Too bad it’s all gonna be worth Beanie baby prices as soon as that bubble burst. Don’t be the last person standing holding all this
Unsure if it will reach him, honestly. I tagged him etc, but I don't have any actual means of getting this video in front of him haha. He also simply might not care😅
Haha I'll do my best! It'll likely be structured as "low, mid, high" as some of the games are super hard to pinpoint exact sale values. Gives a more realistic outlook than saying "this game is definitely worth X"
I like your reaction on this, saw that video before i saw yours. Sow qualified means already opend and reseald, what does uncirculated mean then? Sorry for this noob question ;)
Qualified isn't "resealed", it's just opened and verified as unused. So the contents can still be taken out of the box. Uncirculated is a designation given to games/consoles that generally come from sealed factory cases of games - that's the most common example. So like Mario 64 would ship to Walmart in a box with 6 copies inside. If you were to send one of those sealed boxes to VGA, have them open it and grade the MK64s inside, they would be designated as uncirculated.
Maybe he shouldn't have worried about throwing so much money at them for those games and researched things a little more beforehand because it seems like he was just more excited to say he dropped thousands on them then anything else.
My personal opinion is the Miskif fella is kinda new to the hobby since WATA/HA became popular. He literally said it himself he bought those games around a year ago. This would explain how he completely missed the Qualified and why he refers them as "boxes". He might have played 'em when younger, but he's currently seeing them as investment collectibles and not actually games per se. He's probably doing what a lot of RUclipsrs out there are doing right now - hyping the crap out of them "boxes"!
it’s both their fault .. VGA could have been more clear on the labeling .. but now it’s sort of set in stone for them. And M should have paid closer attention to notice and ask (and find out) what ‘Qualified’ means.
BOTW first prints are already coming a decent premium haha. But yea, I think the mainline, big franchise games will be more expensive in 20 years, but *everything* will be type of thing. Not sure if they will see any kind of meaningful gains vs holding/speculating on the endless amounts of other things out there. For me, the switch and new gen stuff is more along the lines of: buy, flip, repeat.
I don't think newer generations will ever be worth what the older games are worth sealed since not too many people held onto sealed games back in the day but now there's a ton of collectors doing just that.
you know what? It is extremely possible I left him at 1.25x by accident haha. I know I speed up RUclips often so it's possible I forgot to turn him back to normal. I can't remember now😅
Is mizkif part of the heritage auctions and (I forget the name of the graders they own) the graders inflation if the games market where the owner of the auction house bought his own copy of mario at just over a million. So articles would write, not that an auction site owner bought his own game to inflate the market, but "mario sells.for over a million dollars!" Making people think that's what they are worth. Everyone with a sealed copy then goes to pay to get theirs graded and then auctioned and because of the amount of them on the site now, the prices go way down and the only people winning are the rich mo foster manipulating stuff in thenfirst place. Apparently he does it with comics too where he'll put on of his comics up and the buy it back. Sit on it for a few years. Put it back up and then buy it back for more. And keep doing this to manipulate the market. Its disgusting. Is mizkif one of these? Or is he just a naive victim?
Y’all are some suckers. I spent 59.99 on all my N64 games including the Zeldas and all Mario’s and they are still sealed. If your dropping over a 1k on a game you need to re think your priorities
I saw this video, i thought about you the whole time. =p I prefer your input. Its interesting, but in my mind.... *just want to bust open all those boxes*. =) other than that, how are you hope everything is well ;)?
Mizkif has such a persona about him, I feel like he knows about the qualified but just didn't want to say so for the video but honestly who knows. Why he says boxes and not games I'll never know
Ahhhh, probably not? I assume you mean the qualified games specifically? Qualified is a bit better than CIB, technically, but I think it would basically be a parallel move or leave you slightly worse off.
@@GetTheGreg Thanks. I meant any of them actually. I was checking out a guide that compared the two company's grading scales and was wondering if "grade swapping" might have become a thing since WATA was newer. Your videos have already helped me make what I think are better informed decisions about this process already. Thanks again.
Oh yea, grade swapping is huge already haha. It's a bit dependent on the type of wear your VGA game exhibits. If the VGA 85+ or 85 game is that grade due to wrap wear, it's almost always more beneficial to swap it over to WATA. But even then, always risk that you play the game wrong and end up with a parallel or even less desirable item.
Qualified means "New/unused, but opened". So in some instances, yea, they may screw up OR the item has indeed been resealed but is still "new" inside, OR it's just a straight reseal and used so you don't get it graded on either scale.
I definitely know who you are lol been with you since the start of your Chanel I will never miss a video. Also screw vga's qualified scale it is no good

Hey I'm really glad they have been useful to you!
Man... I dont get it. I'm heavy into luxury watches... but growing up... the N64 sucked... and no kid dreamed of the flimsy af box...
Honestly just clicked on this to see someone else’s thoughts on his video that I watched yesterday but I do like ur channel man. New sub! Getting into wata myself for my Mario n pokemons!
Much appreciated man!
And very nice! Going to be very competitive if you're chasing after more Mario's and Pokemon's haha!
What did Mizkif say after hearing about this?
Man about the red edges you're saying shouldn't be visible. The oldest N64 games didn't have the flaps cut on the red side so they were easier to open. Yellow side flaps are always a pain to open and nearly always cause damage when you open that side.
It’s funny I just found this guys video yesterday and now found yours today.
this video was so fun to watch haha, appreciate it man
Hey thanks man!👌

I've gotta be honest me as a Pokemon collector this Mizkif shouting numbers around - not a fan of his approach. Sounds like a snake oil salesman and not a very good one.

he said he bought that one a year ago but he started collecting n64 games and graded games in general (did not mention vga specifically)
Who cares.
@@DijaVlogsGames most of the time you see the battery acid in the terminal and battery compartments is because the batteries were left there, allowing them to complete the circuit. Even through the power isn’t on, it’s still draining energy. The batteries that came with these consoles were separately packaged and therefore not completing any type of circuits. I’m sure anything is possible, but I would think that as long as the box isn’t exposed to extreme heat. It would we ok
If that game has been opened before do you think it actually has super Mario 64 in it?
Yup. The only way it can still be graded by VGA is that they confirm all of them contents are original and completely unused state. Like, literally never used haha.
We shall never know who or why someone decided to open it at some point haha.
do you have a overview how much your collection ist worth atm?
Only vaguely at this point. I haven't done any real calculations. 6 figure++
@@GetTheGreg nice - how about a video where you break it down for us? Would love to see it!
Haha at some point! So much of my collection is scattered between: my house, storage, and my parent's house that it's hard to do it right now. Hopefully this year at some point I can try to get everything together for a video!
I'd rather open the sealed games
Ugh, paying a 1000 bucks for a Nintendo 64 game that you'll never be able to open.
That sucks.
Many subs, but knowlege of an emtpy Walnut.
Great video as always! Mizkif does have some great games. But I really hope he knows about the qualified games by now. Look forward to the next video brotha!!

Thanks dude, much appreciated!
i dunno if its just american boxes, but shouldnt nintendo sealed games have the red nintendo strip? what proves they havent been repackaged its not hard to do. in fact i rather see a bit of wear and tear bit of shelf damage to prove its age and legit. seeing games too mint is red flags to me.
That red Nintendo strip is a PAL only thing. And it's far harder to properly replicate a Nintendo 1st party seal than it's given credit for. On top on the seal, you'd also have to have a box that has never been opened, as you can also identify a reseal by purely observing certain aspects of the box alone.
The risk of reseals and fakes always exist, of course, but with cardboard based games it's not at all easy to create one that is even half convincing to people who have years of experience with them.
i see the guy show off a banjo kazooie graded on stream i was jelly belly because ill never be able to afford such relics.

Thanks a lot and I appreciate you taking the time to check out the video!🙌
Please do a value add up follow up video, I've been trying to figure out a price for my Wata 8.5 A+ Kirby 64 for awhile now lol
Haha I'll do my best! It'll likely be structured as "low, mid, high" as some of the games are super hard to pinpoint exact sale values. Gives a more realistic outlook than saying "this game is definitely worth X"
He watched your video on stream ! I just subscribed !
Haha I just saw man, super surreal! Thanks a lot!🙌
Nice video my dude. Love your accent.
My accent haha, I'm Canadian! I'm not supposed to have an accent😅
right now there is a wata 9.2 mario 64 at $2400 current bid on ebay. Too bad I didn't buy a sealed semi crushed pokemon snap for $450
This is just my opinion but man, having boxes around like that just seems like clutter
Do you think a switch or unopened Zelda breath of the wild will be worth anything in 20-30 years or so?
BOTW first prints are already coming a decent premium haha.
But yea, I think the mainline, big franchise games will be more expensive in 20 years, but *everything* will be type of thing. Not sure if they will see any kind of meaningful gains vs holding/speculating on the endless amounts of other things out there.
For me, the switch and new gen stuff is more along the lines of:
buy, flip, repeat.
I don't think newer generations will ever be worth what the older games are worth sealed since not too many people held onto sealed games back in the day but now there's a ton of collectors doing just that.
Was his video at 1.25 speed?
you know what? It is extremely possible I left him at 1.25x by accident haha. I know I speed up RUclips often so it's possible I forgot to turn him back to normal. I can't remember now😅
@@GetTheGreg I noticed something weird with his lips, like check out 4:19 in on the video. No worries mate. Great content, please keep it up.

@@GetTheGreg yea and like you said, he definitely knows what he's talking about with the other stuff
You can tell Zelda is sealed and real
Would there be any advantage to cracking those bad boys open and sending to Wata for grading?
He is right Calli g them boxes. It is only the boxes we get to enjoy.

So question 🙋♂️ “qualified” mean VGA thought it wasn’t real..... so the opened it..... and whoops.... it was real..... so VGA opened said game!?!?
Qualified means "New/unused, but opened". So in some instances, yea, they may screw up OR the item has indeed been resealed but is still "new" inside, OR it's just a straight reseal and used so you don't get it graded on either scale.
I definitely know who you are lol been with you since the start of your Chanel I will never miss a video. Also screw vga's qualified scale it is no good
