    Hi, I loved your video, I have finished my bachelor's in psychology but still, because of the accreditation, I was wondering if I have to do another master's after doing a conversion course to pursue a doctorate further? Or is the conversion course enough? And I can proceed further with my studies?

    Hello, I have completed my post graduation in Social Work (India), and I am deeply interested in pursuing Psychology. As such, I have decided to apply for the MSc Psychology Conversion program in the UK. I am considering the University of Law, London, for this course and would like to know if this university is well-regarded for its Psychology Conversion program.Additionally, I would like to know about other reputed universities offering similar programs. Lastly, if I successfully complete my MSc in Psychology, would it enhance my chances of securing a good job in the UK?

      I have not heard of the university's name before I am afraid. If you Google psychology conversion programmes in the UK, I am sure you will find a lot of universities. You can then shortlist which ones you are interested in. Regarding the job opportunities, I have made a video on job search after a conversion programme where I have explained everything in great detail. I hope it helps you but in case you have any further questions, do get in touch.

    Like you said in another video, is it compulsory for me to do a conversion course if I want to do masters and then dclinpsy in the uk after doing bsc psy in India? Because my Indian college is not bps credited.

      If you already hold a bachelors degree in psychology, then I think it's better to confirm once with the programme co-ordinator (of the programme you're interested in) whether your bachelors degree makes you eligible for DClinPsyc programmes in the UK. Since different programmes have different requirements. As an international student, it's also important to be mindful of visa restrictions and limited funding opportunities in case of DClinPsyc programmes. Hope this helps!

    Hello,I have a triple major bachelor's degree from India, with psychology as one of the subjects, but I'm having trouble getting admission into psychology programs. Counselors have recommended that I complete a conversion course in psychology. If I follow this route and then pursue a PhD in psychology abroad (excluding the UK), will this approach generally satisfy the entry requirements for phd?

    • @sumbulsyed95
      @sumbulsyed95  4 месяца назад

      Please bear in mind that conversion programmes are not usually enough to gather relevant and necessary skills in research. A lot of times people do another master's degree to gather more skills and experience. However, this is not the case with everyone because your prior work experience (especially in research) also helps in gaining admission in PhD programmes. I hope this helps.

      Hello. Unfortunately, I am not very sure about this. Your best bet is to get in touch with your department and they will be happy to answer your question. Usually, it's allowed if it's early on in the course but you should still confirm once. Hope this helps!

      Yes, you are eligible to pursue another master's degree as long as it's relevant to your background. I don't know whether there are any bridging plus MSc programmes, unfortunately.
      Hope this helps!

    Informative video. Nice. Got a couple of questions. 1) If I complete a MSc in Psychology Conversion, who the recruiters prefer, me or someone with Bachelors degree in Psychology (both freshers)? 2) Is the BPS graduate membership permanent or do I need to proceed towards becoming Chartered member for getting jobs in educational or child psychology or mental health advisor with this conversion course? 3) If done online / distance learning, do I receive same benefits? Thanking you in advance

      Hello. If your bachelor's degree won't be recognised in the UK, then yes you would need to do a conversion course first before going for a DClinPsyc degrees in the UK. Whether your degree is accredited by the BPS is something you can know for sure by getting in touch with the BPS. Hope this helps!

    Thank you this helps alot. I'm an integrative counsellor and did my bachelors hons degree in that subject. Now i'm looking at the psychology pathway which is complicated to as there is different things to go into but im interested in space medicine and it seems there is no one below psychology level on those sorts of teams so I'm in the process of finding out all i can so i can make an informed decision on what my next steps are but they all start with a conversion masters so this helps. The other thing I was wondering is what after the masters conversion does that mean you have to do the post grad cert, dip and another masters or is that taken into consideration on account of the masters conversion etc. Then I think its docterate i.e. phd or phd psy right? Either way this helps with next steps thank you :)

    • @sumbulsyed95
      @sumbulsyed95  6 месяцев назад

      Hello. Thank you for reaching out. Conversion programmes tend to be the first step and after completing this programme, some people pursue a Post Grad certificate, Diploma and also specialised master's (depending upon their career goals). You need a minimum of DClinPsyc to practice as a clinical psychologist in the UK. Hope this helps!
