Rhino Tote Tank IS great, but why on earth did they put the dump on the wrong side!? If you drag it behind the truck to the dump station the dump its on the wrong side and you have to unhook and wrestle it around! It should be on the “off door side”. I emailed the company asking if there was a purpose and got no response. Makes absolutely no sense at all.

Thanks for sharing! Sumo springs are awesome. They supplement the trailer suspension nicely. Don’t know why a manufacturer would recommend against it.

I agree. I believe it is a bit of blame shifting in the frame flex aftermath. It looks like the true results are showing some of these things like Sumo Springs and Gen-Y hitch can help and extend the life of the RV.

Avoid Camco products at all cost. Poor quality, bad designs. Tote tanks leak or wheels break, any kind of hose will burst or leak after a while, electrical cords connectors will short out or melt. RV covers will disintegrate in a mater of weeks.

The SumoSprings are worth it. I put them on the rear of my F-150 first. I like how it improved the stability & ride when carrying a load. And actually improved handling when unloaded. I put them on my travel trailer the following year. So much better all around. Articles in the trailer are more where I left them. Less trailer body roll as well.

Been meaning to add to your made in USA list of handy (must have) items for 5th wheel. A large enough ice chest cooler to carry extra ice, sodas, beer, water or use while defrosting freezer. We have a Grizzly, similar to Yeti - and let me say IT saved our truck bed when our hitch was NOT properly locked.. We almost all have dropped the trailer on our beds at one time or another. The cooler prevented damaging ours and only received minor scratches! WHO KNEW!

I hurt my back lifting the B&W 5th wheel hitch. When I switched to the Gen-Y gooseneck neck pinbox. Now I have my bed space back. The Gen-Y is shorter than the TrailAir pinbox that came with the 5th wheel. It was noisy and chucked now I don’t have any of that.I put the Sumo springs on the front of my 2022 F-450 to help with the sway of the truck.

Douglas & Endy both make good foam mattresses that are shipped in a box and you just open it, once you've got it inside the trailer. RE Sumo Springs Jared, yes I believe there is some controversy about them. I 100% believed in them too - felt that they would reduce the harsh bounce the frame of my 5th wheel gets from the road, that it makes total sense that they should help the trailer ride better and last longer. In Dec 23 installed the correct Sumo Springs on my Grand Design Momentum 376 in expectation that they would help reduce the likelihood of us experiencing frame flex/frame failure, by March 24 and and about 5000 miles, I had my trailer in for servicing at an RV service center for something totally unrelated and they noticed and brought to my attention that the frame of my 5th wheel was getting noticeably bent exactly where the Sump Springs come into contact with the frame. I know all the hype around Grand Design's frame issues, and that is why I thought Sumo Springs would be a good investment for my unit, but low and behold, the chassis/frame of my toy hauler could not withstand the stress that Sumo Springs put on it. I'm now going to upgrade to the Roadmaster Slipper Spring + shocks, but I can clearly say Sumo Springs did not work for me (I now have for sale a 4 month old set Sump Springs for triple axle trailer!).

After 6 months in U.S. we just crossed back into Canada and the distributors here say the tandem kit is in stock but the 3rd axle kit that I need is 4-6 weeks out - so I might be a bit before I can tell you what I think.

Gen Y hitches turned out to be garbage and didn't work as advertised, so Hensley and Air Safe is all I consider now. There's a reason we use air ride suspension on tractor trailers, but with a pick up, you can build it into the hitch and save your 5th wheel, gooseneck or bumper pull trailer the stress on the neck/frame and all the welds that hold your rig and body together.

    • @Freightmeister
