Pain, Obito, Madara, had cool larger goals, but in the end, their acts were acknowledged. Itachi not only nobody to stand by him in the end, but he was hated by the entire shinobi world. An S-ranked villain, thought to be cold hearted, attacked by those he formerly knew as comrades and shared a bond with. It's truly a world so cold when somebody has to make a sacrifice like this.

He knew Sasuke would take his eyes, so months earlier he planted a genjutsu to force Sasuke to protect the village within Naruto with whom he knew he'd inevitably face. Genius bro, genius.
I miss Itachi, he reminds me of my self in a way. He cares deeply for his brother and would do anything to ensure his happiness and well-being, even though he may not like it, it may even hurts him but it's to help him grow stronger. And the planning itachi had, the strongest uchiha and planning so far in the future as to give sasuke the chance to get revenge on him by killing him and taking his eyes, its brutal but also amazing
yea he only wanted Sasuke to use all of his power to draw out Orochimaru from the curse mark he had. Thats what Itachi wanted with that fight. Itachi would have won if he fought seriously, even half blind and sick.

Nagato's always preaching about pain and how he lost everything, and yet here stands Itachi, after being forced to slaughter his whole clan almost to the point of extinction, with an exception of his brother Sasuke, who he purposely fed false lies to make him hate Itachi and become strong so he could survive on his own. He took all the blame and hate and even died, bringing that secret to the grave. Shut up Nagato, Itachi should be the real 7th Pain.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like it would have had more of an impact if instead of sasuke it was itachi who killed Danzo for Shisui
And the planning itachi had, the strongest uchiha and planning so far in the future as to give sasuke the chance to get revenge on him by killing him and taking his eyes, its brutal but also amazing
I don't think itachi ever planned to kill sasuke therefore didn't fight to his full potential against him
yea he only wanted Sasuke to use all of his power to draw out Orochimaru from the curse mark he had. Thats what Itachi wanted with that fight.

He took all the blame and hate and even died, bringing that secret to the grave. Shut up Nagato, Itachi should be the real 7th Pain.
