Araña is a Spanish word which means chandelier. During this festival, the produce or farm products like vegetables, root crops and fruits are arranged to form a chandelier. These vegetable or fruit chandeliers hang at the ceiling and sides of the Baluarte (the arc or posts at the entrance of every barangay) as decorations. Araña't Baluarte Festival is celebrated every year on May 15th, as a way of honoring San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers.
