Qotd-Hrtf on, hyperx cloud orbit s with 3d surround on. It really allows me to pinpoint locations, especially with the issue of in front of behind that a lot of people have
even after 6 months, HRTF still sounds weird. It might just be me but it sounds to me like HRTF makes sound directions "approximated", whereas without it it's far clearer where exactly the enemy is. I'm still using HRTF in case it somehow is objectively better, but once I reach my goal rank, I'll probably try disabling it.

I use this thing called a oticon soundclip. It connects my hearing aids directly to my pc so the sound is pumped directly into my ears. It has surround sound abilities however i cant seem to germt stereo audio working in valorant
QotD: I don't actually use a "headset". I use the Philips SHP-9500S studio headphones with a V-Moda Boom Mic Pro. It makes for better in-game audio than a "gamer headset", though Hyper-X Cloud II's work in a pinch if you can't get good headphones.

Is there a way to reduce the gun sounds using an audio compressing app without reducing the sound of the footsteps? The guns are too loud when someone shoots me from behind. My ears can’t handle it. Please help

I use HyperX Cloud Stinger Headset. It works great but the battery doesn’t last more than one days worth of gaming sessions (6-8hours) and so it is very important to throw them on the charger or they will die the next day.
The hyperx cloud 2 wireless has AMAZING battery life. Full charge lasts over a week of daily use for like 4+ hours a day

I currently use beyerdynamics dt770. They are great but in the summer makes my ears hot. I've been curious about iem so I bought the moondrop aria since it is hrtf compliant and they say it's got an ok soundstage and imaging. Will edit this post once I receive them for my experience.
Edit: So I just came from half a day of playing valorant and this moondrop aria iem is really great! I am no audiophile but in terms of performance in game it can compete with my dt770! And it's only between usd50-80 depending on your location. I had no problems pinpointing enemy location with these. And the sound is superb.
my tin t2 is almost similar to moondrop aria, in terms of neutral tuning plus the clear mids and highs with pinpoint imaging and enough bass but not really overpowering. with usb portable amplifier itm01 from ikko company. got it for 33 usd or 1,649 php here on philippines.

for me hrtf makes the the sounds coming from the right, make sound on the left, and vice versa.
i enable hrtf and i have my audio at stereo but it still acts as though its set to mono. I haven't been able to fix it and its been months.
I just use boat rockerz 510 not particularly a gaming headset but does the job
i use a topping d50s headphone amp and a topping e30 dac with sennheiser hd 560 or 600 headphones
when i turned on windows sonic for headphones it lowered the volume drastically

Hi, i have a good sounds for hearing steps, knife air hit from enemies but... the problem is, I can't modifie the volume of my teamates... they are TOO LOUD! and even when i pute their voice at 1 its like having that at 50 still.
So question is : How can i lower the "basic" teamates voice sound ?

@@frivolousbread7050 i have 70 on windows and it’s freaking loud. When i play other games I only have like 30% of the master volume. But when it comes to Valorant I need to play it on almost if not a hundred %
@@mysi9180 the only other thing I could think of if that's the case is if u have the VOIP Ducks Flavor VO setting on and ur mic is extremely sensative so it always thinks ur talking so it lowers all the other volume

Using a good stereo headset and keep it that way is recommended and much better. Use the equalizer to change nuance between footsteps and explosions.
how can Iadjust the equalizer ? I just changed my headphone and now all i can hear is gunshot and not the footsteps even though someone is walking right in front of me lmao
@@ayskream5387 it all depends on what headset you have, check its manual :), most headsets come with their own software which includes an eq.
@@ayskream5387 go to control panel and go to sounds and open the properties of your speaker and turn on equalization something. I vaguely remember where it is but its in there
Windows sonic part is nonsense, as often these videos have 0 knowledge about anything semi-in depth. Windows Sonic will only work when you are playing sound from games, movies, or applications that have been designed to render to 7.1 channel formats. Valorant gives the mono or stereo options which in turn means this audio is not 7.1 and that is why the game has HRTF built in to actually do something with the transmitted audio. As a general rule it's better to have Windows Sonic turned off for any sort of application or game unless it specifically has a 7.1 surround option.
Regards good headphones you should check if the headphones have a max range of 44100 Hz as this is what the human ear can perceive as a maximum (Headphones with huge amounts above this usually just have it as a gimmick which adds absolutely nothing to your sound quality). Yes there are quality differences in headphones as in build quality and such.. but stick with the 44100 Hz frequency response and you will be golden. As an example, Razer Krakens have a maximum frequency response of 28000 Hz which is why they sound so horrible and are way overpriced for what they deliver. I guess they have cute cat ears or something..
For anyone that actually read through this I hope it helps, oh yeah and there is no point to set your audio above 16-bit even for games as it adds no perceivable difference on our end. Higher bit-rates are used on music production levels and have their use but not for us consumers.
In my opinion Valorant has a bad HRTF implementation as it lowers the output of sounds too much to make the positional awareness viable. Especially during team comms and all sorts of things and sounds happening in the game it might benefit you a lot more to just have HRTF turned off. On top of it think about how linear Valorant maps are, they are basically all corridors with minimal elevation. Having a good stereo sound set up is king in my opinion, without any gimmicks or post processing added to it.
thats just not true about the windows sonic part. granted it doesnt affect anything spacial audio related but it def boosts my highs so i can hear steps more clearly

I use earbuds given for free from an Airline. Was surprised that they were built almost like Samsung earbuds (while sound quality is just decent) with actual rubber tips that you can change (they gave you two more sizes) and they are not two ports by default for in-flight entertainment. It needs an adapter which they also included it in the bag to listen while in the plane. Talk about freebies and yes, this is Economy class.

After watching this video and turning on HRTF and windoows sonic on and realised it sounded terrible so i turned them off but now my game sounds oddly muffled/echo-y. Idk what to do, any help would be useful.
Lots of CS players mentioned when they first turned on HRTF in CS, it felt really bad, but overtime it they noticed it was better. I personally would just commit to HRTF if I were you, it'll sound weird for a few games but you'll get used to it.

I´m using an EKSA E900 Headset - i never planned on playing an FPS and it worked well with Among Us etc. I guess it isn´t THE best headset for Valorant, maybe i have to replace it some day :(

When you upload to youtube you only get 2 channels, no HRTF.
Headsets are uncomfortable if you dont have your ac on and its hot and you game for long periods of time. Sometimes i even get rashes around my ear. I personally would recommend buying an iem for gaming because they have the same surround sound feature and they definitely compete with headsets. Ofc the higher the price the better it gets but if you want cheap but good iem i recommend the qkz ak6 or the trn mt1. They both have amazing mic and sounds quality for 6$ or less .

Well, only in hot weather, but then I sweat regardless of whether I'm wearing a headset or not, so having sweat around my ears is negligible when my ass crack is 10x sweatier.

Yea personally I dont think the comms I get are worth lowering the other audio unless I have a good team so I dont really think that setting is worth unless ur with a team in high elo
