Why didn't they wait until Elvis had audited the car for other parts required before Mike went off to Alfaholics having based his parts requirement solely on the MOT fails? Why didn't we see Elvis replacing all the parts? Just a minute on each one would have been good. Cup version. What were the differences between this and the standard GTV? Such an obvious question to ask. Why didn't they show us the engine bay after the restoration, after the re-chromed manifold pipes and the replacement engine cover were fitted? I could go on.
Alfa Romeo’s are like children… cost you piles of money, break things, misbehave, break your heart and disappoint … yet you will forgive them for everything because you love them.😂
@@michaelpielorz9283 Don’t get me wrong. I have had 3 and I ❤️ them. Only good for weekends. I now love Nissan Skylines, all the performance, character and charm without the extreme dramas…👍
Over the years I had 11 Alfas and the last one was a 3 litre GTV, the first one on the island of Ireland. 4 Sud Tis, an Alfetta 1.6 GT, 75, 90. 155, 164, 2 litre GT convertible and finally the 3 litre GTV coupe with the magnificent Busso engine. I loved them all and they were far more reliable than you would imagine. Then on to TVR. Chimaera, Tamora, and finally a .Tuscan 2 convertible. Motoring heaven over 35 years!
Cambelt every 3years. No heatshrink on solder. Replacing brake calipers without diagnosis. Non impact socket use? Didn't even check the spark plugs. How did you cure the MOT emmision failure? Risky not replacing cambelt and waterpump. Rack boot? Spring replace Why?
Si no has conducido un Alfa Romeo, no puedes hablar de Alfa Romeo, yo he tenido tres. Si se cuida , es fiable y maravilloso.
That rubber on damper is for dampening reason, replacing with solid one- 0 damping on that engine, it’s just a matter of time now….. How can you “professionall” push for this kind of crap?
Not 100% sure but i don't think the red key issue is really much of an issue anymore, when i had mine sure it was relatively easy to get another key for it, might be wrong.
Just 3.2 L 159's and Breras+ 1.8 L in 159's is actually an Opel engine.....both of them are bad. The only good engines in both models are 1750 TBI's and all diesels.
@@chrisvashck1141 I was a bit surprised, finding this out. In the Holden Commodore the engine is 3.6 litres. The Commodore is a "bread and butter" car. Not the sort of engine to be expected in a more upmarket Italian car. Made for durability, not finesse.
17:50 compared with prices in Sweden that was not that expensive. it was like medium to medium+ expensive. not hard expensive as he thinks. man it sounds like UK is the place to be at if you drive old cars.
The guy said 155 cup cars.. not 416 cup cars. And Elvis says Hey Marce not Marco.. but at the end he finally said Marco 🤣 WHY those fake sounds effects.. just makes it be silly and at the track start one 4cyl rallycar sound 🤣 Have to be cheaper to repair the old calipers with blasting and painting with new seals in it rather than buy new. After seeing this i see how good the old show was.
Not always cheaper to re condition parts sometimes cheaper to buy new You need to compare and do your homework first 🤔 I know a gut that was selling 2nd hand transit indicator lamp for £25 They were only £20 new from Ford but no one checked 😂
@@richbrown8174 Man i have rebuild alot of calipers so i know it's cheaper than buy new ones. Just buy the seals and refresh the surface on the calipers then done.
It's an Alfa Romeo tho, it might run today for the cameras, but Italian engineering on the debt model AR has run on for 5 decades has made for for temperamental money pits.
You have to look at the premise of the show, it's the demonic of the show, the wheeler dealer, and the poor mechanic who gets to repair the cars or trucks . It makes the show dynamic, the evil sales man, and the poor blue collar worker. It's show business. It's all show ratings.
Interesting ..that a Fiat coupe 24v turbo 5 cylinder , actually went faster than this alfa ..then alfa went nuts and sent a ' message' that department of fiat responsable STOP IMMEDIATELY WITH PRODUCTION ....... GOD ALFA oh yea Lancia as well GOD ALFA ....😢😢😢😢. Cclassic car !!!! Rule one ..be gratefull and always worship the part supplier , and know the part supplier IS doing you a BIG favour selling a part to you ..oh hail the supplier i bow to you 😅😅😅😊😊 ...
i just wanted to say this for a long time. wheeler dealer based in Uk moved to Cali for a bit lost Ed China then come back to uk. i think it was a slap in the face for Ed for this show to go in Cali then reject him and then come back to uk. honestly didn't like it.
Again and again stupid storys! How can Mike tell himselves a „Sales Profi“ by selling 95% of all cars presented at a price, not covering all costs??? Or does Elvis (or Ed earlyer) work for free??? If not, as expected, Mike is a „Sales Junior“ with no understanding of a calculation!!😂. Does anyone consider this stories as serious…..? Greetings from a Sales Director!
The shows makers cover the salaries of Mike and Elvis as well as any other costs not directly attached to the car so as long as the purchase cost of the car along with the parts to fix and they sell it for a bit more they've made a profit..... Nobody can make a profit selling cars if they need to factor in labour costs ..... Not even doing it yourself

Mike's had a lot on his plate recently
Pies , pizza, curries,
fish & chips, burgers ect..
Would have liked to have seen more of what was wrong and fixing the bushes etc etc 🙄
£4376 cost sold for £5000 and I guess the trip to Italy was free???
i just can not watch parts where mike is,thank god i can skip those parts
Always solder from UNDERNEATH the joint which means the solder runs all the way through the spliced cables when the solder is applied from above !
Used to love this program. Didn’t know it was still on. I liked the mechanic that was on the old ones more but this is still quite good
Ed China…yeah i missed him too….
Edd would fix this instantly
Fabulous Car, Alfas really have pizzazz!
Thank you for this great video.
Galvanised body panels from the factory they dont really rust. I loved mine.
Crikey no need to ask who ate the pies.
Costs £4376 plus 100 hours of labour
That is also what I think. Plus the gas to drive to Italy, plus hotel, food.
@@martintokinaga5261Exactly!! Wheeler Dealer is not serious!
Elvis polished the pipe so clean didn't even need to waste time to re-chrome it.

Great info about the key, except the master key is the brown one.
Hi, I'd like to know why in videos about Italy they always put Neapolitan music that has nothing to do with it.
Thanks a lot for this pretty nice episode about 2000 Alfa Romeo GTV!👍

Good job guys, but the previous owner should be fired for such a despicable treatment of this automotive marvel.
The state of his yard was an indicator of how he thought of the car. What a disgrace!

i would also take gamble and take the risk with that one, just cuz its the original owner. and not a 100 different owners the last 20 years.
