The track pad does take some getting used to! I do honestly prefer it now though to my wife’s car’s touch screen. It does a couple of things better than touch screens: 1. it makes it so you look at the screen for a shorter period of time for some activities like radio ( distracted driving ) when doing stuff and 2. it makes it easy to ignore “bad input” while you’re driving and the car is jostling around… on my wife’s touch screen Subaru, this is soooo annoying that you’re trying to touch something on the screen and you hit the tiniest bump and it moves your finger and you hit something else instead or you tap it twice or it does nothing. The trackpad is far better in situations like that because of the wrist rest and the interface. It isn’t perfect by any means but I like it. The only beef I have with it is that swiping up/down has the opposite direction behavior to what I subconsciously think it should be. Don’t know if you can change that in the settings or not.
SH-AWD is usually beneficial in the curves, whether dry or wet, by reducing understeer. The True Touch pad system is “ugh” to me. I’m glad Acura switched out to the touchscreen in the new MDX. Hopefully, soon, the same for the RDX. The touchscreen system in the Integra is great, IMO, easy, fast, don’t have to spend mental CPU cycles figuring out what to touch when driving.
My rolling door has separated in my 2008 TL and this is a common issue for the TL just like th notorious CRACKED DASHBOARD and the HANDS FREE LINK draining you car battery because that Blue tooth connection won’t shut off when you’re parked
Was lowkey curious about what Acura stuck you in while you waited for the ITS. This is what my girl and I are planning to swap for the ST. It is pretty damn expensive though, so we’re opting for a CPO example. Glad to see you agree with us on the major points of this car! And who doesn’t love that 2.0T/10spd combo?!
That sound system sounded amazing, and the technology in the RDX is pretty on point, plus it looks like a spaceship interior wise, but for 50k I'm getting a Mazda CX5 lol.
@@RaceCarFriends that sound system was the best I’ve heard. This is the real ELS lol. I’m with you on that. A fully loaded CX-50 is only 44k. They’re about to add a hybrid soon too
The main issue with the wireless charger is that if your phone gets shifted at all due to even small bumps in the road, the charger will just stop charging and give up trying… it’s very sensitive for no reason. A major design failure there. If you lift you phone up for about 5-10 seconds and then out it back down again it will start charging again. Very annoying to have to do that but it’s usable in a pinch. I am really hoping someone comes out with a good aftermarket replacement that still looks OEM but has the QI 2 /Apple strong magnets. The current one does change way better if you have no phone case but nobody got time for that.
Are you sure your seat was all the way down? I had this car as a loaner once I think it was a 2021 I'm 6ft4 and I like my seat to be as low as possible when I'm driving. I was completely fine with the driving position. Maybe you like sitting lower than I do which I doubt lol

@@QueTheChaotic I’m old so Mazda is a cheaper brand to me. I haven’t adjusted my brain yet even though they came a long way. The Lexus NX is boring. The BMW is too unreliable. RDX for me. I did have two MDX so I’m slightly biased.
2025 RDX announced today with very minor changes, what a letdown. 1. Doesn't get a touchscreen, still uses touchpad interface 2. Doesn't get a digital instrument cluster from the TLX/MDX 3. Doesn't get a larger 12" infotainment screen from the TLX
@@QueTheChaotic Exactly, the new model year is going to be more expensive for barely anything. This was the final blow, Im getting a Miata. After being loyal to Honda for 8 years, Im done with them and their shitty dealerships.
It took me a year to get used to my rdx it a great every day cuv i have no complaints ✌️

To really feel the benefits of SH-AWD, you need to be on throttle in the curves. Better to enter slower and then accelerate out of them.

To ME, and to me only, the RDX is king of its class hands down.
This is a tough class. It’s a lot of different buyers in this segment. Mazda would be my choice. I see why people choose Acura, Lexus or BMW though
