It’s because Christmas lights are so calming when you are outside by yourself and enjoying all your work.
I enjoy your Christmas enthusiasm for exterior Christmas light display. When I drive home from work, I enjoy seeing what people do to their homes to bring light and joy. I take car ride after dinner on the weekends and cut through neighborhoods just because it's fun and its the Christmas Season.

I am also a female “Griswold”. I have learned over the years that the box of 100 count lights say no more than 3 strings put together. However, 4 strings are safe. More than 4 will work for a little while, but something about that much current passing through eventually, burns out the fuse. To be safe, and because I absolutely hate changing fuses, I only push the 4, “100 count” limit. Net lights and icicle lights are different because they have so many more lights than a regular string, sometimes you will short out the string itself instead of the fuse. Therefore, less than 4 strings of them. Another thing I have learned….if you can also hook inflatables together using an old string of burned out lights. I have numerous inflatables and several strings of lights that only half the string works. I usually take out a bulb in the half that doesn’t work and use it in place of an extension cord if I’m running low on them. They blend into the yard and can hardly see them. This knowledge of strictly trial and error. Hopefully, it helps someone.

Your neighbors, (especially the kids), must look forward to all the joy you bring to Christmas with your lighting projects. I love decor inside and out for Christmas. Wow! Great yard. Never too many lights. I like how you used lights to shape the tree and stake them down. Cute gingerbread too. I saw someone use red pool noodle wrapped in white tape and added solar light on top. They used them down the sidewalk. That's my plan too. I have a big front yard but only one tree bush. I will have to think of some diys to make.

Oooh could also do glow in the dark paint on the gingerbread man & woman... that way when lights aren't on they will still glow :)
My husband uses the material used for gingerbread men for Halloween tomb lstones for Halloween. We've had for over twenty years in our yard of Ohio. I love creativity. You did a lovely job.
