This is incredibly wholesome and feels like home more than anything else.
I am from Russia, the region of Yakutia in western siberia.
We also throw off and gift cash together with friends very often, celebrate drinking in the kitchen in the small company, without cake, candles and loud music, talking and eating everything the birthday person prepared. On such occasions the kids are allowed on the table too, when drinking begins, but they usually play in the other rooms after eating.
I felt like I know you and these people personally.
