  • Well, after boring you all with my cruise videos :-0) I'm back to outdoor activities. After buying myself "Wirral Walks - 100 Miles Of The Best Walks" I found one that peaked my interest. Why? Because on this hike, you could find an Iron Age Fort!!!! Or could you???
The route started in Burton Vilage - Gladstone Village Hall
Through what has to be described as a lovely little village with lots of charming cottages. Out the other side, slight left and a mile up the road to the Dee Estuary and the Military Ranges. Slight left down the foot/cycle path (red flags permitting) and down about 0.5 mile to where, according to the book, you'll find an old Iron Age Fort...... Or can you???
Then back the way you came, another left up the hill for a small distance, then right, up the hill and into Burton Woods and onto a rather lovely St Nicholas Church.
It was a lovely 2 part walk. 2 part????? Yes. Watch the video and find out why it ended up being a 2 part walk and if I found the fort.
