Jersey City fun facts: Jackie Robinson made his professional baseball debut in Jersey City on April 18, 1946, playing for the Montreal Royals against the Jersey City Giants at Roosevelt Stadium on the city's West Side. The site is now a gated community called Society Hill, but there is a baseball field constructed next to it where New Jersey City University's team plays. The city honors this moment with a Jackie Robinson statue in front of the Journal Square Transportation Center
Kool & the Gang, well-known for Celebration! which made it into the Library of Congress in 2021, were actually formed in Jersey City in 1964!

Quite the small world to see a neighborhood I used to live in get its own Barstool pizza review. If you had a problem with the fire truck being loud, consider yourself lucky no one was driving by blasting their Spanish music, that was common when I was there. Jersey City is a great place to live for good transit (didn't need a car!) and cuisine. More people need to give NJ a chance
When I lived in that neighborhood, my go-to for pizza was Gino's on Central Ave. There's also Renato's Pizza Masters on Central Ave but I preferred Gino's because the quality of the sauce is just better there. • @axe2grind244
