I always put the Moody Blues on when i wanted a young lady to lose a few garments. The harmonics, the orchestration and especially the lyrics, it always worked.
This is so much like a sailor's chanty from the 1800s. The lyrics and music touch the heart like no other. This song is meant for that special love that comes only once in a lifetime. This was the third song that I played for my wife (Barbra Rose) and myself. We had only 2 years together in this life, but I wouldn't trade that short time for all the ages yet to come. Ray Thomas had a way of writing songs where you think - ‘I have heard this tune before’ because it is obviously a lovely tune. And then realise this is completely original and you have not heard it before. ‘And the Tide Rushes In’ is another example. That was his genius. Do you know what I mean?

We were together for 30 years until she passed away from Pancreatic cancer in October 2009. There has not been another woman in my life since for when I think of holding some one, it's still her in my heart. I believe it always will be.
