- Today you guys get to watch me struggle to finish the ceiling of the second cabin, Matt buys a trailer, i acquire a truck, and you finally get to see Lizzy's tiny home in the woods (aka The Plywood Palace). All in all this winter has been full of projects and warm fires and good people and so much snow. Turns out it's getting harder and harder to leave, even when the winter months get hard, which has been pleasantly surprising 🥰
You might notice that this video ends on New Year's Eve... I'm behind 🙃
But! In a good way! To avoid burnout I decided to take some time to stockpile footage so I can work ahead and not always be scrambling to film, edit and post each week. Hoping this makes it easier to get some time in to just live off camera a bit 😉
As always, thanks for being patient with me, and coming back even when I'm not always the most reliable.

The highlight so far for me was watching the 2 dogs meet, become friends and chase the truck. It was so cute!
The two dogs running around and chasing the car is the cutest thing ever
That whole situation stressed me out but the dogs got me through it lol I was like look at the dogs and not the fact that Hannah gave a stranger her address.
@@dorothygurnz6755 I mean it was either that or Hannah take Walt ( if he's even driveable rn ) 3 hours away. I live in Minnesota like Hannah, that long drive is NOT what you want to do on snowy/icy roads with out 4 wheel drive. 4 wheel drive is pretty much a necessity here in the winter lol. As evidenced by the footage of Hannah needing a tow truck to get her out of a ditch.
@@dorothygurnz6755 yeah. The Mother in me came out. Not only did she give him her address, SHE GOT IN THE TRUCK WITH HIM ALONE!!!!!! Lol. Luckily she survived. I’m not sure the internet would survive all of her subscribers showing up to do a search and rescue!! Lol
I didn’t know Hannah got a dog, looks like a Ridgeback, they had a great time.

It was MORE engaging to watch this precisely because your project didn't go to plan, took longer than expected, required adjustments.. things to which we can all relate I'm sure! It sets an example and makes your audience feel more empowered to take things on even if we won't do them perfectly. Nice work, the room is looking great!

It was honestly really motivating to see how you were able to have the patience to correct your mistakes! I would have probably been so frustrated in that moment, that I completely gave up for a least a couple of months. What did she do wrong with the ceiling? I missed that part. It's good to know if i will ever do this project.
@@MayaAgrippine if I’m remembering correctly, she double layered the insulation, creating a space where moisture could be trapped. So she had to undo a lot of her work!
I thought the stained ceiling would be too dark. I was wrong, looks great.

I don’t know why I haven’t learn to trust the expert yet. So many of her projects i start out saying, “Nnnnoooo,” but then end with, “How can I incorporate that,” lol. I’m pretty sure that room is the big one with that huge picture window in it which lots of natural light helps immensely.
If I did that in my tiny bathroom, it’d be a dungeon, haha!
"Don't look at this mess" Its not a mess Hannah, its a workspace and you are working very hard... whats more all the things in the workspace look to be grouped together in some order... this means its an organised workspace (these are rare spaces!). You're doing a great job! Your arms must have been aching sooo much after putting up all those tiles. I thought when you said about staining them "nooo... dark ceiling... nooo..." but now its done it looks great - good call (so just goes to show, never pay attention to any random person on the internet - unless they're complimenting you)! Oh... and the chicken feet... I was thinking frogs feet... is that worse??
True. If that's a mess then my kitchen right now it's a palace. Ha! Ha! We are renovating the kitchen in our apartment loft. It is so messy and I hate getting take-out. Can't wait for this mess to be wrapped up and we can cook again. 🍜🍷
Hannah, you are right, it has been a long haul on the room project, but TOTALLY WORTH IT for the "chicken feet" at the end. Made my day, laughing so hard. You are a goof ball (:

So MUCH of me wants a life like this - building and creating in a woodland home (the snow is an added bonus) - but I don't know the first step to becoming so independent in the world. I greatly admire you for doing so and for sharing your journey with us online. Thank you for doing so 💜

Don't stress about how long it takes. Things take as long as they need and you've got the rest of your life.
I don't know if it applies to Hannah. But I am a perfectionist and when something doesn't turn out the way I planned. I burst out, take a walk, or leave the project there for weeks. I cannot obsess over how angry I'm at myself which is why my therapist told me "when you are having difficulty finishing a project, take a breath and walk away. And come back to it with fresh eyes". Again I don't know if this applies to Hannah but she seems to have a good handle on her situation(s). ☺
You and your BF have so much fun together. I’m happy you found your person, no winter blues for you ☺️
In case you didn't know: you can use the ashes from your wood stove to sprinkle generously on the frozen ground. :) It'll slowly melt away the snow & ice; keeps you from falling. :) ❄Plus, you can also use the ashes to clean the window of your oven :)

I'm sure that this project has been a drag for you, but I can't explain how enjoyable it has been watching you complete it! Your life is so very different from mine (I live in a very urban area and I've never touched a power tool) but I gain so much insight just watching you overcome anything.

You have done such a great job with your cabins and sharing everything you do with all of us. Please take plenty of time to enjoy your vacation and don't feel guilty about not being able to upload constantly.
Dont stain the ceiling dark with dark floor, it will shorten the height of the entire room. Leave the darker beams if you want but go with a light color if chosing dark floor and white walls for a spacious feel in a small space. Or lighter floor when a darker ceiling to avoid squashed effect! Good job! 💪♥️👍

Hannah I had a Ranger like that in Michigan where it snows a ton as well. I used to either throw sand bags or just fill the bed with snow to get way better traction in the winter. Added weight over the rear axle makes it so fun to drive. Keep up the good work.

The one project in this room that I, being an observer, felt had to be the hardest ever, was so proud of you when you persevered and finished it and dreaded for you...was the ceiling. I knew you had to redo the walls. I never thought you would redo the ceiling even though it needed it. GOOD FOR YOU. I was feeling the pain for you, but you did it! Those chicken feet🤣🤣🤣

Absolutely dark ceiling was the way to go. Looks great! Also, how about turning that area into more of a loft style space and remove the makeshift wall/door framing? Just a thought 🙂 btw those little ford rangers are awesome vehicles!
I was screaming no don't make the ceilings dark. Afterwards, I was thinking it looks good.
