I totally understood how he said they sounds fresh, simple in a way which is not necessarily his style but for me, for the exact same reasons, I choose txt over any other groups, they are definitely my style.
Yes! Kpop songs tend to have a lot sometimes and I get bored or get over those songs that have too much, txt songs are better for me to listen all the time

The reason why I prefer txt than other 4th gen kpop group is because of their genre. Their songs are not intense or forcefully addictive, which kinda common in kpop nowadays. Their songs are mostly describing emotions and telling some stories with awesome lyrics, which made me wanna have a roadtrip just to vibe with these songs.
Their relaxing music vibe is the addicting part
I listen to so many kpop groups but there's none that I can love music from as much as I do with txt and skz 😭

I like how he honestly assess and review the song production on his own perspective based on his experience and preference. He fully focused on one of the major aspect which is the sound and we really appreciate the honesty and review.
This is why I like TXT so much:
1. Sound/music as mentioned above
2. Lyrics always hit your weakest/strongest spot
3. Concept very relatable
4. Vocal are slightly auto tuned but not distorted by a saturated instrument (you’ll still hear the raw ones through live performances)
As Chris is a metalhead, i’m afraid to see if he reacts to 2019 TXT bubblegum songs. Not his type of music. 😁
Hahahaha yes I want to show him their earlier stuff to see how it compares, but I'm not sure if he'll like it 😅 😂
For what it's worth, Seori (Sou-ree; the "eo" in her name is the same vowel as the "eo" in Yeonjun) has gorgeous vocals that you can hear in her episode of Lee Mujin Service!
Also, I have a feeling TXT tends to go for simpler instrumentation because they have such powerful and stable live vocals. But that's just a guess. It's definitely weird compared to other stuff in Kpop sometimes, but I'm personally into it.

love how you talked so much about txt's "fresh" "clean" etc vibe! i love listening to their discography bc it maintains that feeling throughout a wide range of genres, but their lyrics almost always have something darker to them. so that contrast b/n their sound and their message is my favorite.
TXT seem to like being able to reproduce performances live and often people will say they enjoy their live performances better. So those choruses with lots of live drums and guitar may be more satisfying.
I looooove how she smile during the hole songs, it really seems that she love their music :) I totally identify myself every time I watch their mv’s and listen to their music

he got some interesting takes and i wasnt surprised he picked Frost as one of his fav when he likes Stray Kidz and Dreamcatchers stuff.
And what he said about the emptier instrumentals etc i kinda understand why a lot of people kinda feel connected and emotinal listening to their songs.
I thought he picked 0X1= Lovesong as his favorite, because he said he likes the second song more than the others.
🤣🤣 I try not to fangirl too much while I'm reacting with Chris, but man TXT are just so amazing I can't help it!
I totally agree I think the emotions really shine through in their music, and that's a big part of why I love them so much
fun fact, they practice to sound more auto-tuned sometimes... there are videos of them practicing to create that sound with their live vocals ;)
In all my playthroughs of Lovesong I've never noticed that guitar sound he was talking about, but as soon as he said it I was like 👀👀
That's why it's good to hear from people who know things. I love hearing from someone who understands music, because I can't, I just like what I like while not knowing why.
TXT are one of my favourite groups for all the reasons he pointed out I think, but I could never have put words to that myself.

But before that, I actually really recommend you guys to watch these short clips first, I want to know what kind of vocal processed they do in their songs based on what you guys think, is it really all autotune? Or more variation like some kind of effects, or vocal layering, or maybe some parts that's just kind of pitch correcting software, or else

Anyway I can't find that much clips for other members other than Taehyun and Yeonjun, only few of other membs. Ofc there are so many clips of they're all singing live, but what I want to give to you guys are some clips that's not even they're properly performing with proper tools or not even on stage so it can really shows their raw vocals, some of those clips are not even they're singing seriously, like there are backstage clips, their singing on Vlive streaming (kind of live on yt but this is on other app called vlive), or even on phone call, or on variety shows that they're asked to sing a bit, yeah something like those

Maybe you could have him react to some Kpop bands like Day6, Xdinary Heros or The Rose! Would be interesting to hear since they actually play the instruments and stuff :)

Lovesong is such an emotive song. It transports me to simpler times when my emotions were unguarded and life was less heavy. Which makes this song invaluable, to me atleast.

Yes, as a vocalist, it is the easiest to do that "rasp" when coming in and singing and on vowels. This is the first video I have seen and y'all should have him react to their other stuff (If you have not already, I will be checking here for more in a sec), so he can see their different concepts, songs, and their other "sounds" if that makes sense?

Some people have commented this but I want to just say, I love contrast of a Kpop fan and someone who is reacting to it for the first time. You can really see how mesmerized you are by the music and the groups themselves it’s so beautiful to see you smile and him just trying to process what he is listening to(sorry I don’t know names quiet yet, this channel appeared in my recommended so I’m brand new). As someone who is new to the Kpop world, I would like to say that I can very much relate to both parties here, I was once someone who was trying to process what I was listening to and now I’m someone who any times I show anyone anything I smile because I’m happy I get to show them something I like :)

TXT Have a "emocore" version that Is more... emm idk how say it in English, so I'm trying to say it in Spanish; ellos tienen una versión más "pesada" más "cargada" de la canción. Con mas guitarras electrónicas más sonoras y un estilo que me recuerda un poco a algunas canciones de linking park... ellos se meten mucho en una ENORME diversidad de géneros! Sus canciones no suelen ser las típicas hachas para ser virales y pegajosas, se concentran más en la letra y transmitir un mensaje y en hacer una performance casi teatral. Por eso mismo ellos son famosos y al mismo tiempo no son tan famosos como uno esperaría, pues al no hacer canciones ruidosas y pegajosas siguiendo las tendencias del momento; la gente no suele engancharse tanto con ellos... pero al mismo tiempo está bien porque asientan una base de fans bastante fiel y real (y he visto que multistans de kpop en distintos idiomas afirman que TXT tienen el fandom (MOA) más tranquilo, sano y menos problemático.
Will be cool if you two make a reaction to the songs of the album "Thursday Child" of TXT! Especially the songs "God Boy Gone Bad", *"Open sequence" (that one for me is just FIRE),* " Lonely Boy" and "Thursday child have far to go". I really wonder what will be he's reaction of that songs!

I'd say the metallic (that's what it feels like to me) vocal filtering is kind of bighit's signature, enhypen definitely uses it too and though I don't really listen to bts anymore from what I do remember they also use it or at least used to
txt has lots of amazing songs in their discography. frost, 0x1 & Loserlover are my fav too. i love the rawness in these songs. i realise in txt songs, the reason the music may sounds simplified is because they like to bring out the members raw vocals more in the song instead of heavy bgm. but the way they sounds SUPER amazing & better in live performance are really amazing. and u'll notice they sound EXACTLY like the recording so people often mistakes their voice with autotune. if u want, u can react to their ACT:LOVESICK tour ver. of Can't You See Me, Eternally or any song since their vocals are clearer there. anyway, thank you ^^
they are vocal driven group. they give more importance to the raw vocals and i love it. Even Yeonjun's rap is so raw. Very distinctive.
I really love this Kpop discovery with you!
One group I would find really fascinating is Red Velvet. They are not metal/rock at all but very interesting musically, kinda weird and unlike anything you would hear in western pop music. I would love Chris take on them.
Some interesting songs: Peekaboo, Psycho and Feel my Rythm
Those 3 are my fav songs of them. It is really rare to find it in kpop industry. Especially emo punk rock (?) style.

I love it when people with music knowledge review kpop songs..Maybe can try react to some of Gidle's songs. They produce their discographies..Oh my god, Hwaa & Tomboy might be perfect songs to check out..
I mean no hate to Skz and all..but whenever we think of skz..we think of heavy voice, metal..rock and all those but the point here is TXT is so versatile and unique. Their discography is chef's kiss!

So the ‘eo’ in Beomgyu is pronounced the same in Seori , it’s only one sound, like one syllable her name almost sounds like you’re saying sorry but not quite but instead of ‘say-or-i’ it’s ‘seo-ri’ 서리 spelt with only 2 ‘letters’
Please make him react to TXT - Run Away, there's a lot music instrument in it that he can analyze, most of TXT songs don't have as many instrument as other Boygroup with kind of hard edm-hiphop songs, and Run Away is one of TXT song that have quite a lot music instrument

For myself, the difference between Taehyun/Huening Kai's voice: Taehyun's voice is bright/clear, he achieves a certain resonance, like no problem. Kai's voice is warm, his timbre goes to the heart. So although they may technically sound similar, it feels different. Not saying that Taehyun can't be soulful because yes he can be [recommend 2021 FanLive Shine X Together!!]. Their voices complement each other. I've heard reactors "complain" that their vocals are too similar and they can't differentiate one member's vocals from the other - that's just being lazy. You picked up an acoustic guitar in the background in 0X1=Love Song, and modulated ice bells in Frost, and so much information besides. Recommend you react to their Lollapalooza performance.

That song are REALLY different from any kpop songs that I was listening, specially Roller Coster (montaña rusa).
