Yes! Check out my other videos. I have several BTS featurettes including creature creation and ADR. The one about Creature Creation talks about being mistaken for Disney+.
This has got to be the most underrated Star Wars fan films ever. The acting, props, story, cgi, and characters! It's all perfect. All of this and it adds a live action Darth maul vs Ahsoka, it's the perfect fan film. I couldn't ask for more. I liked and definitely subscribed!
So good and then bad thoughts on the short film. So good stuff first. You guys made a good storyline. I liked what you made in that two people were trying to help those who were young and strong in the Force. Pretty good job on most of the costumes and I liked how many species you guys had. Props for even making the blue skinned bounty hunter have eyes that blinked. it was a good small detail. You guys also had some pretty neat cgi animation and effects. The ship, hologram, and nightsister magic was really cool and I liked seeing it! Well done on that. Also, the whole turning the lightsaber off every time Maul tried to turn it was absolutely hilarious. That really me laugh! XD Bad stuff. I struggled with the fighting choreography. I feel like not a lot of training or practice went into it. Ahsoka favors forms 1, 3, and 6 the most from everything I've watched in the shows over the years. That was not well displayed here and it threw me off. I couldn't get into the fights much because of that. Even if I don't pay attention to the forms not used, there's still the obvious lack of general fight knowledge. There are lots of videos on RUclips that show others for free how to do basic sword fighting and fancy looking tricks that can be incorporated into fights. Overall, there was a big lack of good fighting sequences and I feel it could be improved. Lastly, I feel you guys struggled with Ahsoka's character. There's no way that she would've just let Maul get near a child, no matter the "relation". She would've known that he would've had a dark reason for wanting to train her. It just wouldn't have happened. She would have fought to keep him away from her. Anyway, those are my thoughts. I do want to say that I do still applaud those who worked to make this short film. I know these take a long time to make, a lot of work, and a lot of money sometimes. Everything I said here is just meant to be constructive criticism. If someone takes offense to this, then that's on you not me. Congrats to everyone who worked on this. You did a pretty good job and I hope you will continue to make films and learn from each one.
No offense taken at all. I appreciate your thoughts very much. Your comments have a level of respect, fairness and dignity that is often lacking online. This was of course a low budget labor of love. As a director, there will always be things that I wish we could go back and refine. For instance, it would've been great to have more time to practice/work on the fight choreography with our professional fight choreographer (and even to have him there on all the days we shot the fight scenes to supervise), but that wasn't in the budget. Also would've loved to have some stunt doubles and do wire work, but it was just the actors in makeup. Still, I'm very proud of what the whole team accomplished with the resources we had. I think the overwhelmingly positive comments and the awards that the film is starting to recieve is proof that it pleases and thrills the audience it was intended for. To me, that is a great measure of success. Thank you again for watching and commenting.
@@AntigravityFilmsABQ I hear you and I'm really glad you didn't take anything I said wrong. I was honestly a little nervous about that. I would absolutely love to make a sequel, and have some ideas, but no budget exists for such an endeavor at this point. With all the prosthetics, costumes, professional actors/crew and visual effects, these can be very expensive to do right. And I would rather do it right than wrong. Disney/Lucasfilm does not allow crowdfunding either, so all money raised would have to be private funding. Know any folks with access to money that would be interested in executive producing?

Hey thanks. That's great feedback. As far as budget goes, they can be dirt cheap to very expensive. Just depends on how many freinds you ask favors of and how many costumes/props you can round up too. As for Rendezvous, I hired professional actors and crew and paid all of them a bit. Most of the costumes and props were custom made for the film. Fortunately I had some private funding because the whole thing cost between $20-30K. (My understandign is that Disney frowns upon crowdfunding fan films so all money raised has to be private). You are also not allowed to make any money from the film after it's done like monetizing, etc. Good luck developing your idea!
@@AntigravityFilmsABQ Thank you. of course Disnay frowns on it. The Star Wars community makes better material than them!!! I wonder if KK actually watches these fan films. Maybe she would get a clue of what the fanbase actually wants in a SW film or TV show!!! Great job again!!!

Well done, but the lightsaber work seemed a bit slow at times, I also keep wondering how Palpatine didn't know Maul was still alive all this time, is there a part 1 to this? Or did you always want it to seem like this was the middle of something else?
Thank you for watching! Yes as a fan film, the light saber action was difficult since we had budget limitations, no stunt doubles and difficult prosthetics. Ashoka’s headpiece was the most difficult prosthetic to do the fight choreography with since it was fairly stiff and inflexible. As far as Maul, our story takes place in between Clone Wars and Rebels and during the same time that we see his cameo at the end of Solo. He’s actively running Crimson Dawn in the shadows at this point. Since Lucasfilm has not established a lot of canon in this time period, I thought it was a perfect opportunity to tell my own fan story without running into any issues. We are currently in development on two sequels to make this a three part series, centering on the young force sensitive girl’s journey. Both Maul and Ahsoka will reprise their roles in the sequels.
Loved the attention to detail. Like the heavy assault shielded rifle. And all the twileks were hot. Seriously. There was a great disturbance...in my pants!

@@AntigravityFilmsABQ Thank you so much for getting back to me, and I wish you the best of luck! I plan to do a star wars film one day, it's just a matter of finding friends to do it with, and the $. I wish you the best of luck my friends!
@AntigravityFilmsABQ awesome looking forward to them
Im pretty sure Ahsoka had a run in with Maul and crimson dawn after order 66... its possible
Wow, I almost forgot this was a short fan film this is so good.😲😃 This should be a series...more, please.😀👍👏👏👏👏
Loved the attention to detail. Like the heavy assault shielded rifle. And all the twileks were hot. Seriously. There was a great disturbance...in my pants!
Amazing!
This was very good it didn't violate cannon and was well Made
I wonder if this was the film that was erroneously reported as a screenshot of the filming of the Ahsoka series.
The exact one! Watch this behind the scenes featurette: ruclips.net/video/h8VIqya0FIk/видео.htmlsi=ir3W6WBjEfZeFiUy
@@AntigravityFilmsABQman what were the odds of that happening. Also that ending makes me wonder if there will be a sequel.
@@disneyboy3030 I've written a sequel - actuall parts 2 and 3 that complete this story arc and bridge the gap between Rendezvous and when we see Ahsoka for the first time in Rebels. For now, it's all about finding the money to make them. Know anyone with money who would want to become an executive producer???
So this is where that Darth Maul leak came from
Yes. That was us. Very unintentional. Some hiker wandering through set (we had many) posted a photo and it went viral!
