I work for the owner at the Metropole Museum in the Netherlands. He currently has 3 8C Alfa's. He said he will never sell them. A specialised mechanic for this car said to me that the car was worth 35M.
I think the plume of smoke might be because of the carburetor setup. Probably the carburetor had been set up to run on methanol, but in this event, the car was then run on petrol. That would make the car run a bit rich, hence the volume of smoke...
