    Hi guys in Zim we call them madhumbudya sad coz in Zim they come once in a while maybe thats why Precious doesn't know them. They are yummy yummy. Thank you for sharing with us . I really enjoyed watching it❤

      yes madhumbudya we used to eat them as a delicacy in Zim.It depends where you come from.I remember eating them but as you said, not always available

    They are there in Zimbabwe but they come once in a while not every time like in Uganda. Here in Zimbabwe we call them Madhumbudhla. They are a type of grasshoppers. I remember eating them in 1967.they invaded this country.

    Madhumbudhla in shona.
    If my memory saves me well the swarms used to come towards end of winter season, at least in Masvingo.
    We used to literally pick them up early morning because they will be immobilised by the cold. We would fill up baskets.
    When the sun comes out like around 8am and it's a bit warmer they would start flying away.
    Very delicious, very good protein source. 🎉

    I used to catch them by the tower light after it has rained in Manicaland we call them tsunaruna. I even saw one live one in my house yesterday...its that time of the year to catch them

      I grew up eating them in Gweru
      All my childhood 80s until I left Zimbabwe in 1994.
      They are very very very delicious.
      They are protein packed and very very good for our health.

    Grasshoppers eaten by some Ugandans.Some tribes dont eat them especially from Western Uganda.They are also known as desert shrimps. Nsenene is Luganda

    Grasshoppers come from deserts in search of vegetation and morning condensed water in grass .. they lay eggs in desert sand when they hatch they fly to vegetated area.. around equatorial places during wet seasons.

    In Zambia we call them inshonkonono. But I've never tasted them. The only insect I eat are the termites.

      @TheMawejjeFamilyChannel I can never get myself ti to eat them. It's just like I can never eat the Haruwa. It's a delicacy here in Zim that's eaten by Zimbabweans from the eastern part in Zim. Precious when you visit Zim next introduce our mukwasha to haruwa
