yeah, feel like that game was over though after the Thielen play. Would have loved to see Brees get another ring, or a shot against KC in the super bowl, or even against GB in the NFC championship game.

The first PI call was NOT PI. The defender doesn't initiate contact and it is not the defenders responsibility to provide the receiver a path to the ball. If that was called PI then the rule would be insanely easy to exploit by sending the receivers on go patterns then underthrowing the ball. The receiver could just stop in the path of the sprinting DB as if he were making a play on the under thrown ball to draw the flag every time.
Oh looks it’s someone who actual knows football and doesn’t just bias receivers.
@highlightreel8134 That's what made me lose interest in the NFL and to an extent football in general. Safety is important and the players of the past that weren't aware of the health consequences should be taken care of by a combined effort of the NFL and the NFLPA. Now it's like smoking cigarettes. The dangers and hazards are well known and publicized. We may not know everything but we know enough to consider that common knowledge. Participation is voluntary and individuals must weigh their own risk/reward. ALL players including down to the practice squad are well compensated for the hazards. Changing the essence of the game the way they have in the name of safety has taken much of the strategy and nuance away from the game. Sacking a QB is a penalty even if he HAS THE BALL. You get a personal foul for hitting a receiver after the catch and a PI if you so much as step on his shadow before the ball arrives. I don't mean to have the typical "gruff back in my day... gruff" type of take but I think that anyone who honestly looks at the game pre-2000 and post-2000 knows that today's NFL is not merely the evolution of the game but more of a spin off into a different version entirely.

@flightgearHD I guess you are talking about that extremely minor jersey grab? If that were any penalty it would be defensive holding as it was established prior to the pass or play on the ball but that would not qualify at all in my opinion as it in no way impeded or influenced the direction of the receiver. Anything after the receiver makes his first motion to make a play on the ball is null as well. The contact comes is initiated by the receiver making a motion to the underthrown ball by going "though" the defender.
