You are absolutely right.. 39% tax at the top for unearned income is NOT job killing.. and I'm a conservative!

this is a good approximation of the corporate media here. three people speaking in lies and obfuscations, and one speaking truth. it's actually really good to see it so unabashedly portrayed. I very much hope that that's what people take away from this discussion (although perusing the comments below, it seems many missed the overarching point presented here).

I am personally not familiar with Robert Reich, therefore I would be hesitant to completely refute your statement as true...however in the light of this single panel discussion I feel like that is some pretty heavy and unwarranted criticism. There was certainly nothing outrageously wrong. Do you have a particular point of grievance in this particular discussion? I am also, just curious...

To find out the fuller story about Reich and his nefarious impact on America take some precious time to view 'The Century of the Self" on youtube.

WELL SAID Bill Goodman. exactly.. 1964 !!! it all started to fall apart. 2 NAMES that you should all know more about are Wilhelm Rieich and Herbert Marcuse and of course.."The Frankfurt School" that went to Columbia. in 1955 Marcuse wrote "Eros and Civilization" demanding a 'polymorphous perversity' and in 1965 he wrote "Repressive Tolerance" and in that.. he called for the REPRESSION of the very values you said were falling apart in 1964.. SPOT.....ON! "Reap...what you allowed sown"

Beloved scholars.. you are discussing a problem and a solution. This problem was recognized and solved over 100 yrs ago. ONE man, and the power of the spoken Word.. had a grasp of economics and the Gospel, He was offered 30 million dollars to STOP preaching (By the booze industry) he did not stop. His life was honoured by many presidents. Learn from him. "Billy Sunday against Alchohol" (youtube)
"We don't need more grog.. we need more God, we don't need repeal, we need righteousness" etc.

Not helped by that narrowly targeted conversation? It relates squarely to revenue and ability to fund the government. Romney was not the problem..the LAW was and SCHUMER is the one who continually BLOCKS the changes! It is an important conversation.

When you people speak about inequality and 'the rich' 1% you MUST tell us more about exactly how much money can be raised from eliminating current loop holes (carried interest and capital gains) and how much impact that raised revenue can have on debt. You must also outline how scumbag governments will be PREVENTED from using such funds purely for re-election strategies rather than debt reduction.

To the last audience question - An "equal world" outside of the eyes of the creator and courts of law, is a fallacy. Does anyone really believe they are equal to another human being outside of the aforementioned realms? Of course not.

Assertions without evidence... Yeah, you're a conservative all right.
