I would like to share my personal experience with bharatanatyam here. When I was little, my parents used to send me to many classes like bharatanatyam and carnatic vocal to let me gain interest and motivation towards it. But as a child, I neglected learning the art form as I did not know the value and pride of it. When I grew older, I got inspired by the dancers in my school and was eager to learn bharatanatyam again. But I wasn't sure as I was already 11 years old and thought that it was too late and thought about the people who will judge me. And then, I got to know about Harinie Jeevitha and Sridevi Nrithyalaya. As I watched her perform, I felt a gain of self confidence within myself and started learning dance without listening to those who judged me. I started viewing things differently. I started to appreciate our Indian culture and hinduism more and more. I also noticed many kids in my dance class who were making the same mistake as I did. I showed them some of Harinie akka's videos and told them that if they want to become a great dancer like her, they should never give up. As I am going to enter 10th std now, whenever I get stressed up, I practice and watch Harinie akka dance gracefully. This is what I have learnt from Harinie akka and the great guru sheela ma'm throughout my journey of Bharatanatyam and will continue to do so. Thank You harinie akka, sheela ma'm and sridevi nrithyalaya!! love you all !! 💖💖💖

Omg this is so cool! My journey is also very similar. My parents would make me go to class but I would always make excuses. When I was in 6th standard I finally got inspo to dance again. I am now in 12th and working on my arangetram ♥️

I just want to say. I love Harinie Jeevitha so much. She is my inspiration for dance and hearing her name almost makes me cry. If I were to ever get the chance to meet her, I would drop at her feet and bow to her immediately! I see the goddess in her so strongly. Harinie is the embodiment of Shakti. I feel it so strongly. I feel like me and Harinie were maybe connected in a past life. I don’t want to sound creepy or weird but as a child, I can confidently say that I look up to Harinie and consider her to be my idol. ❤️❤️

The best thing about Harini which I notice is her complete authentic simplicity. There's no showbiz, there's no fake authority, there's no showing off. She's truly God-sent and I pray she will continue to be this way forever.

As an Israeli with a strong interest and love of Indian culture and arts since childhood, I am happy to see so many excellent Barathanatyam videos available to see. I've always felt that Indian traditional dance, and especially Barathanatyam is the most beautiful of all traditional dance styles. Though i didn't had the opportunity of seeing her dance in person,i am her great fan and had seen all her videos on youtube. She is undoubtedly a great dancer with remarkable bhavam and abhinayam. Namaskaram! My name is Bozhidara Ivanova, I am 14 years old and I was born and I live in Bulgaria.
India is a country with very deep culture. I started to be interested in this since I was very little. I was impressed by the Bollywood movies .... the way they dance, their clothes, the religious rituals they do. Bollywood was the easiest way by wich a foreigner can experience India and learn something new about it's culture. But I understood that India is not only Bollywood.
Once , teachers from our school took us to the National historical museum in Sofia. There was an event about India. There were teachers who were showing the people how to write their name in hindi, others were showing how to drape a saree and some of them were drawing mehndi. There were some yoga teachers too. Till this day I was used to see Bollywood dancers dancing something like modern kathak, but then it was my first time seeing a bharatanatyam dancer. Ofcourse, she was not as good SDN's team , but she was beautiful she had nice costume and jewels . I liked the most the sound of her ghungroos . I was really impressed and I searched for some information in internet about this dance form.
One day I found a video on RUclips and I clicked on it. I saw a beautiful dancer, who was dancing so gracefully energetically like she will never get tired. As faster she was dancing she was getting more energy instead of getting tired. And even though she could barely breathe, she finished her dance with an expressive smile. I was amazed! I searched some information about her and I understood that she was Harinie Jeevitha.
I already made some projects about India in my school. My parents decided to go to India with me. I saw so much and I learned so much, I was really inspired by everything. If one day I will go to Chennai , wish I could see you Harinie! I wish you to be healthy , to be as expressive on the stage as always, to be persistent , follow your dreams and never give up!!!!! My friends tease me saying I dance like a potato but Harinie jeevitha akka made me take the good even from their critisms and made me dance gracefully.

One thing I would like to follow in harinie akka is her submissive approach.. I admire her commitment, talent, speech, voice, simplicity.. Simply I can say she is not only a good dancer but a very good human being I saw.. I have seen harinie akka performances 4 times in live. At that time when I went to talk to harinie AkkA.. I inspired a lot when I saw.. Harinie akka is my role model..

I was avoiding to watch harinie because it was giving me so much pain for the decision which I took obeying my parents and leaving dance it was really like some part of me is dead but I can’t avoid her dance . I wish I had that commitment though I have the passion but couldn’t persuade my parents to let me pursue dance as my life. Get tears in my eyes and pain in my soul and now I am 40 I want to live my dream so started to dance again this time I dance with my soul . I put you harinie as a Dronacharya to Ekalavya and will learn how much ever I can .being a doctor gives me happiness but dancing gives me ecstasy .thank you harinie for showing the potential of a true dancer and inspiring so many people. She is a personal inspiration! She is the one who inspired to seriously think about taking up dance seriously around when I was 15 or 16...after having left even my old class (and never have performed Bharatanatyam onstage) almost 3-4 years back. Now I live in a hostel and attend classes only when I am back in my hometown. Harinie Ma'am always inspires me to keep the hope alive and keep my calm and wait for the holidays when I can go back home and again attend the classes!
