I am so mad! I have been so sick for years! Their treatment for having too much insulin in my system was adding more insulin!! I would always be diabetic if I did what my doctor told me and what the ADA says! I have changed my diet back in January 2024! In that short time I am no longer diabetic and no longer on insulin!! Lost over 55 pounds and I feel so much better!!

How in God’s green earth did you lose 55 pounds in two months I’ve been doing keto and/almost carnivore for six months and I have only lost 30 pounds in six months that’s amazing and almost unbelievable

@@dianaBerrybanks1143 man I am so surprised too! It’s still coming off. I didn’t have an exact starting weight, last time I checked I was 265 ish. So I generally figure I was 260 and now I’m as of this morning 204! I don’t/can’t exercise all I changed was intake. I didn’t eat too bad mostly, but yeah I had problems with nutter butters and I love rice. It was brown and wild, but it was rice. So I went carnivore and I never looked back, well I do, but only to know what I won’t ever be again. Believe me I am not sure how it works, I got a scale yesterday to weigh food. Because I wanted to know how much I eat. I cooked 1 pound of ground beef and I put 4 eggs in it with added fat. That’s all I ate yesterday. Also I try to wait to eat till at least 1300 hours if I am going to eat twice. That way I can eat within 4 hours of of each meal and fast 20 hours. I’m never hungry, if I am I eat, even if it’s morning but that rarely happens. I have woke up ready before lol and I still wait a couple hours. Usually that feeling passes. I don’t know why or how it works but I do know I am in ketosis all the time. The level of ketosis may vary, but it’s almost always burning.

@@dianaBerrybanks1143 umm, also keto is the right idea, but a lot of keto has carbs in it. They call stuff keto friendly but I am not convinced how friendly it is. To me, sugars and carbs might as well be lead or mercury, you know what I mean? I can never eat it again. You wanna hear a sick mind? I always figured if society falls my diabetes would go away and wouldn’t need insulin. No food? No diabetes! LoL 😂

My mom’s kidneys were functioning at 28%. I began to explore what can help her and I googled reversing kidney disease. RUclips video showed up, not for humans, but for dogs. I thought to myself ”woof woof”. It turns out Kiefer was reversing kidney disease in dogs. I already drink some Kiefer as my regular regiment of a low-carb diet so that I could continue to drink my milk and get health benefits from it. I gave my mom some of it and told her to drink it every day. Long story short, three months later, her kidneys were functioning at 70% with no change to her diet.

@@FC-PeakVersatilitywhat exactly do you think will not be viewed kindly from him? He has saved hundreds of thousands of lives and changed millions of lives. Mine among them.
I was 330 lb and in a scooter. I had to have numerous surgeries as a result of childhood abuse. I had my right hip broken when I was 8 years old in a boarding school, I didn't receive medical treatment resulting in necrosis of the femoral head. When this happens in a child it means they will be disabled. Necrosis is bone death, when a bone dies it can't grow.
Fast forward 20 years, I went to law school and became an attorney because I wanted to protect others, I wanted to help ensure that what happened to me wouldn't happen to other people. I did my best, followed all the medical advice. I had numerous surgeries. Hip replacement, knee replacement, back surgery, all of this in an attempt to keep me walking so that I could live my life.
I was always in pain and depressed. I followed conventional medical advice, dieted as I was told to, I wasn't able to lose weight and once I was in the scooter I became even more depressed. They prescribed lots of pain medication. The cumulative effect of all of this would have been an early death.
I found Dr Fung's book, The Obesity Code. My life turned around. I can't overstate how important it was. Today I am under 180 lb. I have a recumbent bike and I get at least 15 miles 5 or 6 days a week. I work out at the gym. I can walk.
      I can walk.
My A1C is 4.4 whereas before it was on the verge of type 2 diabetes.
I am healthy. I'm never going to be normal, I have replacement parts but if you look at me walking down the street I appear to be healthy and normal. 10 years ago I was in a scooter, over 300 lb, on a massive number of drugs and headed towards an early grave.
Dr Fung's book is not the only resource I used but it was the first and most important. The doctors said eat breakfast! Eat protein in the morning! You have to eat! I didn't lose weight that way. I started to intermittent fast, got rid of all processed foods, got rid of carbohydrates (with the occasional deviation because we're human and we can't adhere to it 100% of the time) and got rid of the pro-inflammatory grain and seed oils.
My diet is largely carnivore. I eat a small amount of plant foods but I am aware that fruit is not ideal. We evolved to eat fruit seasonally. The fruit that is available to us now has been bred for excess sweetness. It is available 12 months of the year, grown in ground that is contaminated with pesticides and chemicals and picked green and shipped across the globe.
People who encourage us to eat lots of fruits and vegetables don't recognize that the fruits and vegetables our ancestors ate were different from what we have access to today. They didn't eat fruit 12 months of the year, the fruit they ate was picked ripe. When you pick fruit ripe there are less oxalates and anti nutrients in it. They did not make smoothies with eight or nine pieces of fruit, they came across some fruit and ate it. It wasn't grown with pesticides or chemicals and it wasn't available all year long. These are significant differences.
The sugar in fruit is fructose. Fructose can only be broken down by the liver. Fructose shares this quality with alcohol. Glucose and ketones can be used by the entire body, fructose and alcohol can only be processed by the liver. That means when we drink a lot of alcohol or eat a lot of fructose we tax our liver. NAFLD (non alcoholic fatty liver disease) didn't exist before the advent of processed food, most of which contains fructose. Children present with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease now.
The diseases of the developed world are the result of our diet. When we look at people in nations eating their traditional diet, these diseases are not present. When they start eating a western diet they get the same diseases. That is more than correlation.
As Dr Fung has pointed out, we evolved to feast and to fast. Fasting allows our insulin level to drop and the body to access stored body fat. Body fat is nothing more than food stored for a rainy day. Let that rainy day come.
Let your body access its stored fat. When we eat every few hours we keep our insulin levels high. Insulin inhibits lipolysis, in the presence of insulin our body struggles to access stored body fat. Insulin is the hormone that tells the body to store fat, not burn it.
I understand Dr Fung's irritation with the AHA. I feel a similar degree of irritation. I am glad he weighed in on it, I wish this article wasn't behind a paywall, I think as many people as possible should read it.
Dr Fung saved my life and he has saved or improved the lives of countless others.

I started carnivore and IF on 25th February 2024 and took myself off all my diabetes medication (not something anyone else should do) otherwise IF would be pointless.

Next minute she's giving me a cup of water with sugar. I politely declined. She said it could stop me going dizzy. I told her my blood pressure is looking good so she asked me what it was reading, I told her my fasting blood result and blood pressure. So while I was surprised I was going to lose a tooth, I think she was surprised I knew my current health status.
I had been talking to the other 2 assistants how long I've fasted, what I ate and when and they were very positive around it.
Years of sugar didn't help my poor gnashers though sadly. RIP canine.

Dr Jason Fung wrote the book "The Diabetes Code". I read it in year 2018. It was my first introduction to the concepts of intermittent fasting, and low-carb high fat diet. I lost 18 kg in the first few months, roughly November 2018 to March 2019. I was able to stop injecting insulin, and my A1C was substantially lower after the weight loss than it had been when I was heavier and injecting insulin.
Back then I didn't fully understand, the insulin injections make type 2 diabetes worse. Yes, the blood sugar looks better on the day you inject insulin. But that happens by making you store fat. Particularly, store fat in the liver. Over the long term, injecting insulin makes body fatter, liver more diseased, kidney more diseased.
Since 2018, I have discovered Elliot Overton, Paul Mason, Ken Berry, Anthony Chaffee, Ben Bikman, and others. All of them support the basic concept that Dr Fung preaches. Namely, bring down insulin to solve type 2 Diabetes.

They don't really seek for a diagnosis though, and they also don't invest any brain time in maybe finding a better way to actually treat the patient.
It's especially bad in hospitals. Following the guidelines prevents any charges. So even when they see things are going south, they stick to the guidelines linked to the official diagnosis.

You can decide for yourself. How is your health now? What is your diet? Experiment with a plant based diet and see how your health responds. Go with an animal based diet and see how things go for you. No one can tell you what will be the right diet for YOU. I believe a more animal based diet is right for me but your milage may vary.

Have done heaps of research on this. Plant Chompers is biased. Love to know where they found their longevity stats. Meat based is far healthier. All the nutrients we need are in our meat lifestyle (after a number of months especially). Eating just plants we need about 15 supplements. Ultimately it’s our individual choice what works best for us.

I have a friend who has chronic kidney disease stage 3. And the docs say it’s essential. She’s never been diabetic. She was advised not to eat meat and to be on vegetarian diet.
Would having kidney disease without type 2 diabetes - do you feel that meat would cause too much harm and more inflammation.

    • @lisasternenkind6467
      @lisasternenkind6467 10 месяцев назад +2

Your friend might want to stick to beef and lamb, and not eat porc and chicken.
Porc has purines, which can be bad for patients with existing kidney or liver issues. Chicken is among the top carnivores that create allergies.
After I got this information either by Dr Westman or by Dr. Berry, I found out through experimenting that mainly beef and lamb are very good for me, and with porc and chicken I better be very moderate. So for now I mainly eat beef, eggs, butter, wild caught fish. Dairy products I cut down also and I only have a little cottage cheese, kefir, yoghurt, and cheese from unpasteurized milk, such as Parmesan or Gouda.
Im now on day 31 of my all carnivore diet and doing great.
I have several chronic autoimmune diseases, such as chronic pain from fibromyalgia and polyneuropathy, also neurodermitis, Alopecia, hyperceratosis, several allergies, metabolic syndrome, hypothyroidism, chronic diarrhea, gastritis, and constant inflammation of liver, bladder and kidneys. I also suffer from the consequences of assaults, such as begnine brain tumors after brain bleeding that impact my nervus vagus, my nervus glossopharyngeus and my pineal gland. I also have intracranial hypertension from the severe head injuries, which meanwhile has been treated with a brain surgery for shunt placement. And of course I also suffer from cPTSD due to the assaults, which comes with several symptoms.
Until now, I have list some body fat, gained some muscles, gained sleep, got completely rid of diarrhea, hair is starting to grow back, pain has lessened a little, my skin is better, also has improved tonus and turgor, no more water in my legs, and my facial wrinkles are almost all gone now. I used to drink 4 flasks of coffee per day to keep my eyes open, now I drink only 1-3 cups a day, because I don't need any more coffee. I'm more vital and active. I started a little exercising a few days ago and I do dog sports now every day with my male Rottweiler Thorssàl.
I start out in the morning with cinnamon tea to take my pain medication. When I get up, I drink coffee with 1 tablespoon coconut oil. To end my intermittent fasting, I eat bone broth, which I cook every other day from beef bones and some beef meat. Then I eat my main meal - beef, fish or lamb and some chicken eggs. Before I go to bed, I again eat eggs.
I am convinced that my bone broth is true medicine for my gut and for my skin. It tightens my skin, hydrates it and serves with collagene. It's like a small face lift. I turned 60 in December, so this is nice. 😊
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, that my hair color seems to return as well. 😮

I feel (my own opinion) that since all of the companies that have science expiriments, (I mean what they call food) that is sold to consumers that have more chemicals than actual food in them have helped make us sicker and sicker.
Low fat high carb meals? Double your diabetes numbers. I remember as a young child you rarely heard of someone with diabetes. Early 70's my grandpa was diagnosed with it. He was gone by 1974. And actually if it had been brought out that the keto diet might help, he would have done that. That diet was discovered for children who had seizures. It stopped them.
What happened to that? It was buried, no Dr was going to make money off of that! Get rid of it. That was discovered in the 30's I think.
America as a whole should boycott any food processing company.
Keto friendly snacks? Leave them on the shelf.
Americans should have a class action lawsuit against every Dr that thinks you need a pill.
I met a new Dr for the first time, and it was hi, how are you, I think looking at your numbers you need to go on a statin. What? It look like the last 4 times my cholesterol has come down each time. My a1c is now 5.4. We you're still over weight. Yup, and im eating carnivore now. Oh, thats going to kill you. Probably not as fast as your SAD diet.
Ill give him one more chance, but I'm eating the way I want, so I don't have to go on dialysis.
Boycott food that comes in a can, or box, or freezer. This tells the manufacturing companies that we are tired of chemicals instead of food.
Cure childhood cancer? That would be the best place to start...
